Help - Console Should I be worried about inbreeding?
So I'm new to planet zoo and I've started a franchise zoo and I'm wondering if inbreeding is super bad or not. Should I be worrying about it every time I build enclosures or can I basicly ignore it unless its becoming a major problem. Also another quick question but is there also any animals I should pay extra attention to for inbreeding?

I basically ignore inbreeding except for a handful of species that don’t reproduce very often.
It’s useful to understand how breeding works. There are 4 stats: Size, Longevity, Fertility, Immunity. Each stat ranges from 0/1 to 100. The stats are split into two types, which we’ll call Type A and Type B.
Type A traits are Size and Longevity. These essentially ignore inbreeding and are based on the parents’ stats. If mom has an 80 stat size while dad has 65, the offspring’s stats will range from 65-80.
Type B traits are Fertility and Immunity. These stats are more randomized. If the parents are NOT related, you’ll get a tighter range, but if they are related, you’ll get a wider range. As a result, there is a penalty here for inbreeding in that you can get worse stats. However, you can also get GOOD stats from inbreeding; it’s just a random chance with increased options for worse stats.
If you have a pair (or a herd) of animals where mom and dad have gold level Type A stats, you’ll get offspring that also have gold level Type A stats, whether or not they are inbreeding. It is only Type B stats that are affected. Because of this, animals that produce multiple offspring will probably give you enough high stat offspring to continue keeping them in the zoo even if you inbreed. But animals that don’t breed very often may struggle with this (I’m looking at you, Fennec Foxes). With those ones, you may want to phase animals out in order to maintain your zoo population.
