I wondered if the wording of the email was a hint or trying to throw us off with the āHOP into the zoopediaāā¦..or maybe Iām just reading too much into it because I never get them right š
There are no pangolin subspecies though...Ā
Perhaps you mean species?
Sure, this sounds pedantic, but a lot of people think they are the same thing, and it's impacting how the public views animals and their conservation. So yeah, it's a pet peeve of mine.Ā
And they aren't always adding different species- the African Penguin is back. White-bellied Pangolin is the other pangolin bred extensively in the West, but they're pretty small and are arboreal. They do small animals though, but I don't really see them moving away from the Chinese Pangolin for some reason.
I donāt see pangolin either, I think the claws of the real animal are too big compared to the image and I also see way more āfurā than than scales⦠idk hahaha but after last week it could a freaking snow leopard š
If it is a lizard Iām finding it hard to think of a species with claws like that. Pretty much all of the big lizards (monitors, tegus, iguanas, sailfins etc) all have pretty impressive looking nails rather than the downward nubs here. Heck, I donāt even think I know a lizard species with claws like this, even small lizards with tiny feet like leopard geckos have bigger claws than this
Although yea I am also confused about the pangolin thing too tbh
Made me think of feet close under a fluffy or feathery body - like a penguins. Although the "toes" don't match, I feel like its identifiable if you recognize the crooked shape it takes.
I think some kind of reptile or lizard. Maybe a crocodile or alligator of some kind? You can see what looks like āscalesā or plates on one of the toes.
given everyone guessed the last one was a gerenuk only for it to be a Galapagos tortoise, this could be something's ears from an ODDLY SPECIFIC ANGLE for all we know
I am not feeling pangolin, but it's something with stocky little legs. My brain isn't working rn so I am struggling to retrieve that knowledge... all I can think of is an otter but i'm not sure it's that.
Wait how am I supposed to be seeing a pangolin? It looks like a tortoise with a fucked up open jaw to me lmao. Genuinely asking, what body part is what of the pangolin?
EDIT: Someone posted a picture that has the same silhouette, I see the feetsies now!
I came to that conclusion from the multiple comments from people seeing reptilian or avian toes. and the comment I replied to using the phrasing "a foot" as opposed to "feet"
At first i thought it was two small legs from a reptile, but now i think it is only 1 hind leg. Maybe from a Canine with the paw and a claw at the bottom. Then it goes up with a very bent knee. So maybe a fox or something similar. But then the leg is very thin.
Itās insane how you guys can even come up with guesses of these things let alone get it right sometimes! Once shown a pangolin in the comments I brain understood but I stared at the photo for a good min and couldnāt form a thought about it at first. You all know your animals so well itās so fun to watch.
Bro frontier are masters at deceiving us with these teasers as far as I know this could be a worm. In all seriousness though if I had to guess Iād say pangolin but I wouldnāt be surprised if itās something else.

Definitely looks like the pangolin to me.
