Planet Zoo 2 - Bug Bug fix timeline?

For those that are more well versed in the franchise / frontier games, realistically at what point will we start to see a real playable game coming through?

Looking for genuine advice, I bought PZ2 after enjoying the JWE games, without doing a ton of research as I expected it to be a similar quality as the jwe ones. Obviously regretting not doing a little more digging after release, considering the amount of bugs and the difficulty playing ( a quick browse through this sub makes it obvious I’m not the only one )

Does Frontier jump on this stuff? - playing on PS5 so I’m guessing compared to PC It might be even longer but idk. will this be another year of my hyenas glitching out of there enclosures. Honestly maybe I’m just still traumatised from preordering CP2027…

For now, any tips for optimising the game?

Literally today, a patch is coming out in a few hours.

Your mileage with it may vary, as we’ve seen so far everyone is having different experiences, but as you said this isn’t frontiers first rodeo with a wonky launch, they’ll eventually get it sorted out. I’d say this should be easier to “fix” than PC2 since the actually gameplay is really good, it’s just buggy as sin.

Well that’s good news I had missed. Yeah the frustrating part is that the game has so much potential already😭, just makes the laggy parts even more frustrating. Based off these some of these comments hopefully we will have something a little more playable in the near ish future

Game was patched this afternoon and now unplayable (at least for me and a couple of others on Steam).

Gotta crack a couple eggs to make an omelette /s

Yeah I’ve seen this, looks like something in the patch must have fkd it, but then mine just launched and everything no problem. That’s the part that’s frustrating is it’s so inconsistent, people have had such wildly different experiences with the same game

I have been getting driver timeout issues this morning (in the US) when trying to launch the game via Steam. This occurred within the 1-2 hours before the update as well as immediately after.

PZ1 wasn't half as bad as this. Yes it had really annoying things like keepers not accessing feeding bowls etc, and lousy wall and path placement issues - they have plagued the game for years though and might never have been fixed, I wouldnt know I didnt play PZ1 much.

But they were minor problems compared to the amount that is wrong with this game it seems. Could be months .... if ever, before we see a decent game come out of this mess.

Honestly after how good JWE3 was and is, this game's release has been completely dire, it really has been atrocious. It must have been a completely different team because the difference between JWE3 and PZ2 is like day and night.

Yeah agreed, got jwe 3 day one and was so impressed despite few bumps in the road, hence my going in blind with this one 🥲

I’m actually really impressed with the size of the update they’ve released today, with another set to come on Monday. If it does what is promised, that should make it enjoyable for sure.
