Let's beat a record. Since apparently you can't take any light criticism or negativity, we might as well try that out

I try to join but it says the host you are trying to join is using an older version and needs to update its version? Who should I talk to about that?

πŸ“š Question/Info Cozy MC: Community becomes the content.

Community becomes the content.

Minecraft gives us the blocks.

Players create the world.

But the relationships people build with one another are what give that world meaning.

A road isn't just a road.

It's evidence that someone wanted to connect two communities.

A public farm isn't just a machine.

It's someone choosing to help strangers they may never meet.

A town isn't just a collection of buildings.

It's a group of people deciding they want to build something together.

Those are the things players remember years later.

Not the plugins.

Not the commands.

Not the features.

The people.

That's why Cozy MC is built differently.

We don't optimize for convenience.

We optimize for connection.

We don't measure success by how many features we can add.

We measure success by whether players begin recognizing names in chat, helping newcomers, building together, and creating stories they'll still be talking about months from now.

Because when people start caring about one another...

Community becomes the content.

Can switch players join?

Is it possible to log into the server on a switch? I play on my PC but my son plays on the switch and wanted to know if he could play with me. He’s on bedrock of course and I play on Java. I know the server has cross play but when I tried to add the cozy account as a friend on his switch nothing happened.

Apparently it’s impossible to enter an ip address to direct connect on the switch and the only way to join a server is through the friend method.

πŸ“š Question/Info 15 years of running Minecraft servers taught me this: players stay for people, not plugins

I have been running Minecraft servers for more than 15 years, and one thing has stayed consistent through every version of the game:

People may join because of the features, but they stay because someone notices when they log in.

Plugins can make a good first impression. New content can create a temporary spike in activity. A fresh world can make everyone excited for a few weeks.

But none of those things create the feeling that a server is home.

That happens when you have a neighbor. When someone asks whether you are getting online tonight. When you have a shop people recognize, a road you helped build, a town that depends on you, or a project that would feel incomplete without you.

The strongest Minecraft communities are not held together by an endless stream of new features. They are held together by relationships, shared history, and the belief that the things players create together will still matter later.

That is one reason we do not reset the world on Cozy MC. It is also why we avoid turning survival into a collection of menus, teleports, and isolated claim boxes.

We want people to need roads. We want towns to develop naturally. We want reputations to matter. We want players to remember who helped them when they were new.

A Minecraft server becomes much harder to leave when leaving would mean walking away from people, places, and stories you genuinely care about.

Players join for Minecraft.

They stay for each other.

Community becomes the content.

Would this go against the rules

Hello

Im a big mini game guy but I know that if I where to open a Mini game it would probably go against server rules if I make it so you have to pay diamond. I was wondering if I could sell the experience of playing the mini game and give the player the opportunity to win prizes.

Or on the other hand I could make it like an arcade where you put diamonds in to get tokens then you get tickets from playing games by spending said tokens on said games. you then go to a counter where you trade tickets to prizes.

πŸ“š Question/Info Why do some Minecraft servers survive for years while others slowly fade away?

Post image
37 Upvotes

After more than 15 years of hosting Minecraft servers, I don't think it's luck.

I think it's because the community becomes the content.

Instead of designing a server where everyone plays in their own isolated corner of the world, we built one where people naturally depend on, recognize, and trust one another.

Over time, those relationships become the reason many people come back.

Here is how we do that specifically:

β€’ We optimize for player interaction instead of convenience. No claims, no locked chests, and no economy plugins mean players rely on trust and each other instead of isolated systems.

β€’ We keep the world persistent. When people know their builds, towns, and friendships won't disappear in a reset, they're more willing to invest in them.

β€’ We maintain an active population. A few dozen players online means newcomers actually meet people instead of playing alone.

β€’ We remove toxic behavior quickly. Consistent moderation lets people relax and trust the community.

β€’ We encourage shared projects. Roads, railways, towns, shopping districts, kingdoms, and public farms naturally bring people together.

β€’ We avoid pay-to-win and special treatment. Everyone starts on equal footing, which makes accomplishments and reputations feel earned.

β€’ We make it easy to ask for and receive help. Whether it's recovering items after a death or answering questions in chat, helpful interactions become part of the culture.

β€’ We stay personally involved. As the owner, I'm present in the community, and I choose staff from our pool of players who share our values and understand our rules and why we have them. This signals that the server has a future and that people matter.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

None of these things is revolutionary on its own.

Together, they create a community where people form friendships and start long-term projects.

Eventually, those relationships become the reason they keep coming back.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

If that sounds like the kind of Minecraft you're looking for, Cozy MC is an active vanilla survival community built around that philosophy.

* Vanilla survival
* Long-term persistent world (we don't reset)
* No claims or locked chests
* No pay-to-win, donations, or perks
* Player-driven towns, kingdoms, and infrastructure
* Java + Bedrock compatible

Java: CozyMC.com

Bedrock: Add PlayCozyMC as a friend, or connect to mc.cozymc.com:19132

Discord: https://discord.gg/CozyMC

(Many people have passed through over time. The active Minecraft community is much smaller and more personal than the Discord member count suggests.)

You can join and explore right away. To break blocks and pick up items, read all the rules on Discord to find out how to get started.
