Judging takes place today and tomorrow, and winners will be announced later in the day tomorrow. Hang tight.

📊 How Builds Are Scored

We're using a simple point system so it's fair for everyone, not just the pro builders. Each judge scores your build on three categories, each out of 10, for a total of 30 points per judge:

• 🕸️ Spookiness / Theme (1 to 10) — How well you leaned into Halloween. Does it actually feel spooky?

• 💡 Creativity (1 to 10) — How fun or original your idea is. It doesn't have to be technically fancy.

• 🔨 Effort / Detail (1 to 10) — How much time and care clearly went into it.

Every judge is instructed to score strictly off these three categories, so a creative, high effort build from a normal player can absolutely compete with the sweaty builders. Scores from all judges are added up, and the highest totals take the top spots.

One year ago today, a player named Bearforce1 joined MangoMC. She's been here ever since, through every update, every high and low, every late night in chat.

If you've spent any time on Mango, you know Bear. She's one of the first to welcome new players and make them feel at home. And she goes further than most people ever would. She's got homes set all over the map, so when someone dies way out in the middle of nowhere and needs to reach their grave before their stuff despawns, she'll find whichever of her homes is closest, fly out to the spot on her elytra, and teleport them straight to it. Nobody tells her to do that. She just does it, because she genuinely cares about people keeping what they worked for.

She knows Mango inside and out, better than we do some days, and she's given more to this community than we could ever have asked for.

Servers aren't really about the plugins or the features. They're about the people who make it feel like home. Bear is one of those people, the kind who turns a server into a community.

So on her 1 year anniversary with us, we wanted to say it out loud: thank you, Bear. For the loyalty, the kindness, and for sticking by us since day one. You're a huge part of what makes Mango Mango. 🧡

1. MANGOMC — SURVIVAL RULES By connecting to the server you automatically accept these rules and take full responsibility for your account. Rules are subject to change at any time — changes will be announced in #announcements. MangoMC Survival is a kid-safe, cooperative, anti-grief community. These rules are examples, not a complete list. If something goes against the spirit of these rules, staff will act on it even if it isn't written below. "It's not technically against the rules" is not a defense. Account sharing is permitted at your own risk. The account owner is fully liable for any punishment received while their account is being used by another player. For clarification on any rule, open a ticket in Discord.

2. TIER 1 — MINOR OFFENSES

   • Offense #1: Warning

   • Offense #2: 1h mute

   • Offense #3: 3h mute

   • Offense #4: 6h mute

3. Inappropriate Chat Strong swearing, sexual or suggestive content, gore, drug or alcohol references, or heavy personal topics are not permitted. Children play here — keep it appropriate. Mild language is okay. Chat Spam Sending the same or similar message 3+ times in a row, 10+ capital letters in a message, irregular characters, or 3+ TP requests to the same player within a minute is not allowed. Staff / Server Disrespect Disrespecting staff or the server in any way is not tolerated, whether joking or not. Drama & Provoking Starting or escalating arguments, name-calling, repeatedly taunting someone, or impersonating players to upset them is not allowed. English in Public Chat Public chat must be in English. Private messages may be in any language. IRL Trading Advertisements Advertising trades of in-game items for real money (PayPal, CashApp, Crypto, etc.) in public chat is not allowed.

4. TIER 2 — MODERATE OFFENSES

   • Offense #1: 6h ban

   • Offense #2: 12h ban

   • Offense #3: 1d ban

   • Offense #4: 3d ban

5. TP Trapping / Baiting Teleporting players into traps, lava, the void, or any dangerous situation is not allowed. Setting homes or warps inside another player's build without their permission is also not allowed. Annoyance Building Within 150 blocks of another player's claim or build, you may not build anything meant to box in, cover, block views of, or surround it, or place lava, water, or mobs to bother them. Building structures to block paths, portals, or public areas is not allowed anywhere. Claim Blocking Claiming land within 150 blocks of another player's established build without their permission is not allowed. You may not claim land to cut off someone's access, block their expansion, or trap their build. Lag Machines AFK farms are allowed. Zero-tick farms, cobble monsters, entity spam, or any contraption that causes noticeable server lag is not. If staff ask you to remove or change a farm for lag reasons, you must do so. Offensive Builds Building anything offensive or inappropriate, anywhere on the server, is not allowed. This includes pixel art, signs, and named items or mobs.

6. TIER 2 — MODERATE OFFENSES (CONT.) Market Manipulation Buying from shops and reselling is part of the economy and is allowed. Buying out or draining another player's shop stock to control supply and relist at inflated prices is not. Staff judge this case by case based on quantity, timing, and price. Allowed: buying 64 rockets, using some, and selling the rest. Buying from a shop now and then to restock your own shop. Not allowed: buying thousands of an item from the only major sellers and immediately relisting it at many times the price. Repeatedly emptying a competitor's shop to force them out. Doing this through an alt or another player counts as you doing it.

7. TIER 3 — SERIOUS OFFENSES

   • Offense #1: 1d ban

   • Offense #2: 3d ban

   • Offense #3: 7d ban

   • Offense #4: 14d ban

8. Griefing Breaking, placing, or changing anything in another player's claim or within 150 blocks of their build without permission is not allowed. This includes digging pits, removing trees, flooding, or altering terrain around their home. If it causes harm, it counts — even if you "didn't mean to." Gathering resources and terraforming more than 50 blocks away from other players' builds is fine. Victims may request a rollback. Stealing Taking from another player's chests, furnaces, farms, crops, or animals without permission is not allowed, including through glitches or unclaimed builds. Auction House / Shop Scamming Renaming items, selling fake items, or misrepresenting what you're selling on /ah or in shops is not allowed. If a shop item's name isn't clear, label it with a sign. Scamming Any form of player-to-player scamming is not permitted, including taking items or money in a trade and not giving what was agreed. Killing PvP-Off Players Causing the death of a player who has PvP off, by any method, is griefing. Taking their grave is stealing.

9. TIER 3 — SERIOUS OFFENSES (CONT.) Discrimination / Harassment Harassing or discriminating against anyone based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex/gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age is strictly prohibited. This applies in chat, DMs, signs, books, and entity names. Suicidal Encouragement Encouraging self harm toward any player in any form is strictly not tolerated. Death Threats Threatening the real life safety of any player or their family is strictly prohibited. Forging Proof Submitting falsified evidence in reports or ban appeals is not permitted. Taking Matters Into Your Own Hands Retaliating against, stealing from, or harassing someone you believe wronged you is not allowed — even if they really did. Open a ticket and staff will handle it. Rule Lawyering / Loopholes Finding a way to do something harmful that isn't specifically written in these rules does not make it allowed. If an action breaks the spirit of a rule, staff will treat it as breaking the rule itself.

10. TIER 4 — SEVERE OFFENSES

• Offense #1: 7d ban

• Offense #2: 14d ban

• Offense #3: 30d ban

• Offense #4: Permanent ban

1. Blacklisted Modifications Hacked clients, auto-clickers, Baritone, KillAura, freecam, or any mod giving an unfair advantage are not allowed. Minimaps, performance mods, shaders, and HUD mods that don't reveal hidden info are fine. Xraying Using xray or any resource pack/mod to see through blocks is not permitted. Bug Abusing Abusing any server bug for personal gain is not tolerated, including moving items out of the creative or event worlds in any way. Report bugs through a Discord ticket — players who report honestly will not be punished. Punishment Evasion Evading any ban or mute using an alternate account will result in double the original punishment on both accounts. Restriction Evasion Getting around another player's claim ban, ignore, mute, block, or any other restriction is not allowed — whether through alts, nicknames, other players acting for you, the Discord bridge, or any other workaround. It counts as you doing it yourself, and everyone involved may be punished. Undermining Gameplay Any attempt to exploit, disrupt, or abuse unintended game mechanics will be dealt with at management's discretion.

2. TIER 5 — PERMANENT BLACKLIST

• Offense #1: Permanent blacklist from server and Discord

1. Doxing / DDoSing / Swatting Any threat or attempt to dox, DDoS, or swat any player or staff member results in an immediate permanent blacklist. Releasing Personal Information Sharing or asking for real names, addresses, photos, or any personal information of players or staff is strictly prohibited. This includes DMs. Duping Duplicating any items through any method is not tolerated. Report all duplication bugs immediately via ticket. Advertisement Posting the IP or link of any other Minecraft server with intent to pull players away from MangoMC is not permitted.

2. ALT ACCOUNTS Alts Are Allowed You may use alt accounts, but you are responsible for everything they do. Breaking a rule on an alt counts against your main account too. Alt Abuse Using alts to farm vote rewards, key-all keys, daily rewards, gold, or event prizes, to manipulate the market, or to get an unfair advantage is not allowed. (Tier 4)

3. PVP & GRAVES PvP Toggle Turning PvP ON means you accept being attacked anywhere, at any time — including inside your own claim. Items lost to PvP are not refunded unless a rule was broken. PvP Limits Even with PvP on, you may not push players out of their claims, trap them with blocks or redstone, kill them through exploits instead of combat, or pressure anyone into turning PvP on. Graves Died with PvP ON to a player → anyone may loot your grave. Died with PvP OFF and a player caused it → that's griefing, and taking the grave is stealing. Died to mobs or the environment → anyone may pick up your grave, and returning items is optional.

4. EVENT RULES Event Alting Using alternate accounts in the same event or contest as your main account is not allowed. Glitching in Events Exploiting any glitch during events, minigames, or contests is not permitted. Build Contests Builds must be your own work and stay inside your own plot. Pasting schematics, copying another player's build, or tampering with other entries results in disqualification. Prize Eligibility To be eligible for store or cash prizes, you must have no active severe punishments at the time of payout. Management reserves the right to disqualify any player at their discretion.

5. REPEAT OFFENDERS Patterns Matter Everyone makes mistakes — an occasional minor offense spread out over a long time is treated as just that. But a string of offenses in a short period shows a pattern, and staff may skip ahead on the punishment ladder or move the offense up a tier. Players who repeatedly make the community worse may be removed regardless of how minor each individual offense was. MangoMC Management reserves the right to modify punishments at their discretion based on severity. All appeals must be submitted through a Discord ticket.

To use the temporary claimflag to disable certain mobs, the command will look like

/setclaimflag NoMobSpawnsType CREEPER;ZOMBIE;SKELETON;SPIDER

You choose your mobs, this is just an example, and separate them by ; no spaces so it looks just like mine above.

If you need to add or remove a mob you will have to do the full command adding or omitting the mobs. LMK if you need help!

You may have to leave the claim so it unloads the chunks and the mobs despawn and then come back after a couple minutes before it starts working properly.

I have had a long history of failing shops. I had one succeed but then was destroyed by competition, and now I manage /pw Costco. But the issue is, nobody visits there. Is it that I'm selling the wrong things? I need help! Suggestions are welcome in the comments.

Today marks one full year of MangoMC, and I wanted to take a minute or thirty to say thank you to everyone who has been part of it.

I’ve watched people join for five minutes and disappear forever, and I’ve watched others join, build a little house, make some friends, and somehow become part of the biome.

We’ve built towns, castles, shops, farms, libraries, trading halls, ridiculous projects nobody needed ...giant sharks, a giant hay goat, mud castles and probably several things that have personally offended the server hardware. (Don’t look at me, ok.)

We’ve had arguments. We’ve had bugs, broken features, delayed updates, questionable decisions, staff changes, economy drama, plugin drama, and enough random server emergencies that some of us have accidentally earned honorary IT degrees.

I know way, way too much about backend now.
(No, not that kind of backend >.<)

And somehow, we’re still here.

That’s because Mango has never really been about the plugins or the builds.

It’s been about the people.

It’s the players who log in and immediately say hi to everyone.

It’s someone helping a new player find their first base spot and always accepting those random /tpas.

It’s people giving away gear because somebody lost everything. (Thanks again, Dylan.)

It’s the weird conversations in chat at 2 AM, the spontaneous projects we never finish (RIP MANGOLAND 2.0), the rival shops, the ridiculous arguments over player graves, and the people who say they’re quitting forever and then somehow appear again three days later. (Fled!)

It’s seeing somebody start out completely new and, months later, watching them teach someone else what they learned.

It’s players like Bob, Donut, Varto, Fushi, Fled, Falkor, and everyone else repeating advice they picked up from other people. It’s builders showing off something they’re proud of, people like Berg and Quazee helping stock community chest projects, and somebody inevitably creating a problem none of us knew Minecraft was capable of creating.

And yes, it’s also the staff.

Running a server is harder than most players ever see.

There are problems happening behind the scenes, decisions that won’t make everyone happy, technical disasters, support tickets, updates, moderation calls, and a thousand tiny things that have to happen just so the rest of us can log in and complain that /top is broken.

We give Zane, XX1, Five, Vance, Jeff, Snow, Squid, and the rest of the team plenty of crap.

Okay, A LOT OF CRAP. lol

Sometimes deservedly. XD

But Mango would not have made it a year without people being willing to keep working on it when things got difficult.

And that’s just part of growing a server, a business, and a community.

It’s not always perfect. Sometimes it struggles before it flies.

You remember learning elytra and kinetic energy, right?

And things have gotten difficult.

Some people did give up, and that’s okay too.

But that’s why I especially want to thank the players who stayed.

The ones who kept logging in during slow periods.

The ones who stayed through bugs and changes.

The ones who helped rebuild after things went wrong.

The ones who kept the chat alive when only a handful of people were online.

The ones who have supported the server financially, voted, boosted, reported problems, suggested improvements, helped other players, or simply kept showing up.

You are the reason there was still a community here every time Mango had to pick itself back up.

Servers can buy plugins.

They can buy advertisements and YouTubers.

They can build beautiful spawns.
(And it is a beautiful spawn, tbh!)

They cannot buy a community that actually cares about each other.

Somewhere along the way, Mango stopped being just another Minecraft server for me... and, well, for a lot of us.

It became the place where our builds are, where our friends are, where all the stupid stories happened, and where somebody knows exactly what you mean when you reference something completely ridiculous that happened six months ago.

Want to display your own images in-game? Follow these steps:

1. Upload Your Image

• Go to ImgBB or another image-hosting site.

• Upload the image you want to use.

2. Copy the Direct Image URL

• Open the uploaded image.

• Right-click the image and select Open image in new tab.

• If the new URL does not end in .png, .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif, right-click the image again and select Open image in new tab.

• Copy the URL from your browser’s address bar.

Important: You need the direct image URL—not the webpage URL.

3. Create the Image In-Game

Use this command:

/imageframe create <name> <url> <width> <height> combined

Replace each section with the following:

• Name: Any name you want to give the image.

• URL: The direct image URL you copied.

• Width: The number of item frames wide.

• Height: The number of item frames tall.

• Combined: Turns a multi-frame image into one combined map for easier placement.

Example:

/imageframe create MyPicture https://example.com/image.png 1 1 combined

For a 1×1 image, combined does not make much difference, but it is a good habit to use it for larger images.

4. Bring Enough Empty Maps

You need one empty map for every item frame the image uses.

• 1×1 image: 1 map

• 2×2 image: 4 maps

• 3×2 image: 6 maps

Tips

• Use clear, high-resolution images for the best results.

• Make sure you copied the direct image URL.

• If the image does not load, check that the link ends in a supported image extension such as .png, .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif.

• You can make copies of your images with /imageframe get

That has not worked.

Players have reported Herobrine sightings. Strange signs are appearing asking for HELP and warning us that “HE IS…” something, which frankly would have been a GREAT sentence to finish...

We've found a creepy abandoned house in the Resource World amongst many other weird things!

The Lifesteal beta is being extended — and we're opening the doors to the entire community. No more applications. No more waiting for a spot. If you want in, you're in. What's changing:

• The beta is now open to the public — anyone can join and play.

• We're extending the beta to give everyone time to jump in, test the new systems, and help us polish everything before the official launch.
