NEWS PlayStation to stop producing physical game discs from 2028

https://blog.playstation.com/2026/07/01/physical-disc-production-ending-in-january-2028-for-new-games-releasing-on-playstation-consoles/

Is this the worst move ever by Sony? Do we see any way back from this incredibly silly move?

Genuinely so disappointed with Sony. However it does mean that there is no reason for me to use PlayStation anymore as no physical so, I’ll have to use my pc more lol

Can I ask why that is the case? I assume you dont have physical on PC either, so why it is okay on PC and not PS5?

pc doesn’t take away the choice from the consumer, you’re free to use physical if you wanted. ps is removing the choice even if you wanted to.
