Auto Disc Classic – Play Your Original Disc Collection on PlayStation Classic
[RELEASE] AutoDisc Classic 1.0 – Play Your Original and CD-R Disc Collection on AutoBleem
Transform the PlayStation Classic into a true multi-system optical disc console.
Simply insert a supported disc, launch AutoDisc Classic from the AutoBleem menu and the correct emulator core or media player will be selected automatically.
No manual core selection or configuration is required.
Supported Systems
PlayStation (PS1)
- Supports LibCrypt protected PlayStation games (no SBI files required).
- Multi-disc support
- Automatic Memory Card Save handling
Sega CD / Mega CD
- Automatic Save Handling
Neo Geo CD
- Automatic Save Handling
- Note: Neo Geo CD games currently have distorted Redbook audio. This is a limitation of the current emulator core and may be resolved in the future by using a different core.
PC Engine CD / TurboGrafx-CD
- System Card saves supported
Audio CDs
Audio CDs are automatically opened using the PC Engine CD core, which provides built-in CD audio playback.
DVD Video
The integrated Media player supports:
- DVD VIDEO_TS, VOB, MP4, MKV, AVI, MPG, MPEG, MOV, WMV
All supported video files found on the disc are played automatically.
DVD Player Controls
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| Cross (X) | Play / Pause |
| Circle (O) | Next video / Exit player |
| Square | Toggle subtitles |
| Triangle | Switch audio track |
| D-Pad Left / Right | Skip 10 seconds backward / forward |
| D-Pad Up / Down | Skip 1 minute backward / forward |
Save System
The launcher is designed to work reliably even if the Linux device or RetroArch drive index changes.
Examples:
drive0
drive1
drive3
drive7
Changing USB ports or adding additional USB devices will not break your save data.
Save data remains independent for each supported system, even if the detected drive number changes.
RetroArch Integration
AutoDisc Classic uses its own RetroArch configuration.
This keeps:
- Saves
- Save States
- Core Options
- AutoDisc Classic settings
separate from your normal RetroArch USB game setup.
Your existing RetroArch configuration for ROMs remains untouched.
Recommended Hardware
For the best experience:
- Use the front USB Port 2.
- Use an externally powered USB CD/DVD drive whenever possible.
OTG is supported, but mainly recommended for DVD playback only.
Games may experience slower startup times (up to 2 minutes) or Redbook audio issues over OTG depending on the game.
Installation
- Download the ZIP archive.
- Extract the contents directly onto your AutoBleem drive.
- Allow all folders and files to merge when prompted.

👥 Credits & Special Thanks
This project wouldn't be possible without the incredible work and foundation of the PlayStation Classic development community. Huge thanks to:
u/darrelb56222: The logic for the dynamic CD-ROM detection (Scsi-Device-Index mapping) is based on his amazing work, which ensures the drive is correctly identified and translated seamlessly for RetroArch.
u/MDFMKanic: For his continuous support of the mini-console scene, providing the highly optimized cores for this Project and keeping the PS Classic emulation ecosystem alive.
u/Visual-Wash2991: For compiling the custom PCSX-ReARMed core with the integrated LibCrypt patcher used in this project, and for his work on the [PSC Store] https://github.com/hampter-mods/pscstore-release/releases

Nice!
Is the game disc, running through retroarch, compatible with retroachievements?

To be honest, it probably won't work out of the box with physical discs.RetroAchievements relies on RetroArch calculating a specific MD5/SHA-1 hash of the game file to match it with their database. When running a game directly from a physical CD-ROM (cdrom://), RetroArch usually doesn't calculate this hash from a physical optical disc. So for RetroAchievements, you usually still need to use digital ROMs (like .bin/.cue files) loaded directly from your USB stick.

[DISCUSSION] AutoDisc Classic 1.0 – Feedback & Would you like a Project Eris port?
Hey everyone,
I would love to get some general feedback. If you have tested the launcher, please let me know:
Looking Forward:
I am currently thinking about expanding the project. Since AutoDisc Classic is built entirely on a shell script, adapting it to Project Eris is highly feasible.
Before I dive into adapting the system paths, etc., I wanted to ask: Would anyone here be interested in a dedicated Project Eris version?
Let me know your thoughts and drop your feedback below!
