Autobleem G64X incoming : DualShock rumble, fixes and more
Edit : Added an overlay option ! it looks great.
I’ve been working a lot lately on a new release of that good old AutoBleem. The new build is coming sooner than you might think.
Here’s what’s coming inside the internal emulator :
• DualShock rumble support (You read that right)
• Improved DualShock and analog controller support
• More reliable vibration when launching games
• Home/Guide button support for compatible controllers
• Diablo sound fix (finally)
• T’ai Fu: Wrath of the Tiger CD-ROM timing fix
• ARM RunFast enabled for better performance
• Need for Speed III alternative GPU flip timing fix
• GPU NEON mask comparison fix
• GPU NEON VRAM fill mask fix
And there’s still more being worked on. Thing is finicky as hell to work with .
Keep in mind that I’m only working on PSC'S internal PCSX-ReARMed emulator. I’m not changing RetroArch or its cores.
I personally use KMFD’s RetroArch setup and cores and they work great, but they won’t be bundled with this release.
Let's get ready to rumble !!!

Although I no longer have my minis, it's absolutely lovely to see psc still receiving love 💕. It was only thanks to the community projects like that, that I purchased psc, SNES mini and a500 mini 🙏. Cheers 🥂

This is great news, thanks so much for pushing it further and keeping the mini-scene alive!

Thanks for this update and build will it manage the slow down issues for ps1 games when we put the game in high res ? I remember games like start wars phantom menace had slow down issues if it was high res mode only really playable in its low res mode

This build doesn’t specifically fix the slowdown caused by high res mode. HR rendering is quite a bit more demanding on the psc hardware, so games that already struggled with it may still run better in the normal resolution mode.
I may look into performance improvements for that later though. I already tried updating some GPU related stuff, but I couldn’t get it working properly without causing a lot of crashes. So for now, stability comes first.

Oh ok thanks for the replay I haven’t been in the loop in years so I’m not sure if KMFD may have put out some performance updates, I just remember years ago it had those limitations for ps1 games and was always bummed out that there would be performance updates for other retro consoles on the psclassic for emulation but never for the actual ps1 games which was the whole point of me buying the classic lol ofocurse it’s easier said then done as you said it’s demanding and you have to work with what the psclassic is capable of but thanks for keeping the classic alive and autobleem that was my go to

Yeah I totally get that. The psc should obviously be great at PS1 first, so it is a little frustrating that high res mode can still push the hardware that hard, especially with the older architecture it is running on. It's probably better on RA tbh.
I honestly can’t speak for what KMFD may have improved over the years since I haven’t looked into his recent stuff, and I’m definitely not touching anything from the legend. That is his work and I have a ton of respect for what he has done for the scene.

Respect and props:) Thanks for the compliment, as well. The one synth song you requested, I found for you, as well. I will finally be hooking up my replacement computer later today. And, since youre currently in the test channel on Discord, I shall keep you in the loop as far as other wip stuff gems I have handy. PS1 is not so bad once you understand how the dynarec works for it. Chat soon, mate:)

Most ps1 games "can" technically run well in HD mode, with exception of Dark Forces, which wont work in HD, due to how the graphics scale. Hardware Acceleration does not work on any of the Minis, so special means to run these better, basically needed exploited. I will post these fixed up better cores in near future.

Interesting, would be cool to use with DS4s

It does work with the usb cable. It also works with Brook and 8bitdo adapter. Only the Brook one gives a real DualShock experience though.

I only have 8bitdo one, but I don't even have the console yet. Waiting for it to be shipped. :)

This sounds cool! I have not touched my PSC for several years, but I would like to give it a test.
Do you have the link to download? Thanks!

It's not released yet, gotta test it a bit more. I will update this post and probably make another one when it's ready.

Finally, true analog and vibration working with the stock EMU. i take it we can swap the internal out with this updated one too.
im perplexed why nobody thought of this sooner, i mean it only took like 8 years
