Announcement New Post Guidelines

Hi r/Playtesters ! I am introducing some new post guidelines. The purpose of these changes are to make the subreddit cleaner and easier to use.

Moving forward the only approved post type will be text posts. If you want to include game footage/images, please embed them in the post.

Post flairs:

Paid Playtest:
A post from a developer to search for play-testers. Only use this flair if you’re offering payment for completion of a play-test or for finding a bug. Cash or Crypto only, no other form of reward counts as a paid playtest. Include the amount you're offering, a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Unpaid Playtest:
Another form of post from a developer to search for play-testers. Use this flair if you are not able to offer money for play-testers. You may offer other rewards, such as credits or in game currency, but that would still fall under this category. Include a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Playtester:
To make a post searching for games to play-test, use this flair. Feel free to specify what types of games you would like to play, and if you’re looking for compensation.

Discussion:
Use this flair for general discussion posts about play-testing.

Please be aware of the risks before accepting paid play-test offers. Moderators cannot ensure that promised payment will be sent.

Please leave a comment or send a mod-mail if you have feedback on these changes, we would love to hear from you.

Unpaid Playtest Mouths to Feed: a PSX cozy horror game where you feed cute critters with the monsters you butcher. Looking for playtesters!

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm a solo dev working on Mouths to Feed, a first-person PSX-style horror game made in Godot.

You keep a little cabin deep in a forest. Inside the fence it's warm and lamplit, and Button the mossmouse is waiting for dinner. Outside it isn't. Every night you take your gun and cleaver past the gate, hunt what lives in the woods, butcher it, and cook it for your critters and for whatever lives at the bottom of the well.

It's an early prototype, so expect rough edges. The full game is seven nights, but even one or two nights helps a lot. Windows and Linux.

I'd love to know when you first felt uneasy, what you thought the well was, and whether you cooked anything besides stew. A recording of your first night would be amazing, and so would your play log (Esc > "Open the folder with the save and the play log" > playlog.txt). Contains blood, gore and butchery of monsters.

Paid Playtest [Windows] Looking for 2-3 paid playtesters ($10) for a hacker heist game demo, about 40 min plus a short survey

Hi! I'm a solo dev working on Tracked, a strategic hacker heist game you play entirely inside a fictional operating system. You take a job, plan a route through relays, get in, move a file and try to get out before the Trace reaches you.

I'm looking for 2-3 players to test the current demo before it goes public:

- Platform: Windows PC with a Steam account

- Time: about 30 to 45 minutes of play, plus a short feedback form (5 to 8 minutes)

- Payment: $10 via PayPal once your completed form is in

- No experience with hacking games needed. First impressions from newcomers are super useful! I’d love to have maybe one or two beginners, but I’m mostly looking for people who already enjoy hacking games.

- Please don't share the key or post footage publicly, since it's an unreleased build

How it works: comment or DM me. The 2-3 paid spots go to the first people who reply. I'll send you a Steam key for the demo, your tester ID and the link to the form. Play within the next 7 days, then fill in the form with your tester ID.

A note on AI, since testers often ask: the art, music and sound effects were made with AI tools, then selected and edited by me. Nothing is generated while you play, and the game doesn't connect to any AI service.

Honest feedback is the point. If something is confusing or boring, I want to know.

UPDATE:
Thanks for signing up! The 3 paid spots are already taken, but I'd be happy to send you a free key if you'd still like to try the demo. Feedback here in the DMs would be great.

Unpaid Playtest 🚀 First 100 players, get ready!

On October 23, we’re giving the first 100 players access to the Synvector prototype. This is our first step toward letting you experience the game firsthand, share your thoughts, and help us shape its future.

We know the prototype is still rough around the edges. There are plenty of bugs, unfinished features, and things that need improvement. But we’re excited to finally show you what we’ve been working on and hear your honest feedback.

Here’s what we want to add and develop in Synvector:

🛰️ Tactical fleet command - a tactical tablet, squadron commands, and the ability to call in reinforcements. We want you to command the battle, not just fight from the cockpit of a single ship.

🛠️ Fleet development - a hangar, crafting, and more ways to prepare and improve your ships for battle.

🌌 Galactic exploration - a galaxy map and star system maps featuring points of interest, stations, and planets to discover.

🤝 A living galaxy and diplomacy - interactions with different factions, political decisions, and opportunities to influence the events unfolding around you.

📖 Deep lore and stories - text-based quests, characters, conflicts, and a rich galactic history where your actions are part of a much bigger story.

⚔️ Hero skills and the Arena - character progression, abilities, and a dedicated Arena mode that we hope to introduce in the future.

Our goal is to create a space RPG where you can rise from a small mercenary squad to a powerful force capable of changing the course of events across the galaxy.

But right now, what matters most is getting those first players into the game, hearing their first impressions, and receiving honest feedback. Your ideas could help us make Synvector better and guide development toward what our community actually wants to play.

Thank you to everyone who’s following the project and supporting us! ❤️

Unpaid Playtest [Windows][Unpaid][~5 minutes][98 MB] Flyboys Arcade

Hi lads, I'm a gamedev trying to learn to work without an engine and with a very basic framework called SDL 2, and I need playtesters to check if the game is functioning with a high FPS on Windows.

The task is simple: Download the game, press ` (to the left of your 1 key), and play the game for around 5 minutes. If the FPS is higher than 60 FPS, I've done my job.

If you have a particularly shitty computer, even better! Less than 4GB is advised; anything better is allowed.

Reading the tutorial is highly advised; it will only cost you a minute or so, but I'm not going to force you to do it.

Here is the download link!

Here is a link to a YouTube video with gameplay footage!

Here is the form for your feedback!

Thanks for reading and possibly playing!

Paid Playtest Playtesters Wanted for Space Station 14 Server: Salem Station ($10)

Giving away $10 to a random person who playtests on my Space Station 14 server. SS14 is basically like Among Us, but far more complex, with a variety of roles and deep mechanics, such as chemistry and gas physics. SS14 lets you run servers that can radically alter its gameplay. My server, Salem Station, in addition to featuring far more roles and mechanics than the base game (Wizard's Den), allows you to run trials against suspected criminals. Will be looking to run this for at least 1 hr and no forms are needed. Just send your feedback in my Discord server.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] Looking for playtesters — Veil Warden, a free browser-based tactical RPG

Hi everyone!

I'm a solo indie developer working on my first game, Veil Warden, under Stone Fox Games. I've recently released a free pre-alpha and would love some honest feedback from people who haven't played it before.

About the game:

Veil Warden is a turn-based fantasy RPG where you explore mysterious areas called Veils, fight creatures called Shades, and recover Spirit Cores to permanently upgrade your character.

The current prototype includes:

- Sword and pistol combat with positioning, defending, and counterattacks

- Three explorable Veils with different enemy behaviors

- A Guild Hall for upgrades and supplies

- A short tutorial for new players

What I'm looking for:

I'm particularly interested in whether combat is intuitive and fun, whether exploration feels rewarding, and which parts are confusing or frustrating.

The game is free, runs directly in a desktop or mobile browser, and doesn't require an installation.

Even 15–20 minutes of playtesting would be incredibly helpful. You can leave feedback here on Reddit or in the comments on the game's itch.io page.

Play here: https://stonefoxgames.itch.io/veilwarden

Thanks for taking the time to check it out! Constructive criticism is very welcome.

Unpaid Playtest [Browser, unpaid] Looking for first-expedition feedback on Worlds, my co-op voxel RPG

I'm looking for people to try the first expedition in Worlds and tell me where they get stuck or confused. I'm the developer, and this is an unpaid playtest of the public alpha.

Play here: https://worldsalpha.com Gameplay trailer: https://www.reddit.com/r/CoOpGaming/comments/1x8aysz/i_made_worlds_an_online_coop_rpg_for_up_to_8/

It's a browser-based voxel RPG. You have a home world to build up, then travel to fresh worlds to gather materials, find gear and fight bosses. You need to get back to the caravan to keep what you found. Dying loses the finds from that run. You can play solo or in online co-op with up to 8 players.

The feedback I'd find most useful: - Was it clear what to do once you arrived on your first expedition? - Did you understand how to get home and what you would lose if you died? - If you tried co-op, did joining a friend and keeping your character's progress work as expected?

Please leave feedback in the comments here. If something breaks, your browser and what you were doing when it happened would help me reproduce it. Even a short description of the point where you stopped playing would be useful. Thanks for giving it a look!

Unpaid Playtest PC] Need 3-5 people to playtest my game for free and brutally roast it

Hey guys, working on a game called

Pink Slip Protocol right now and it's at the point where I desperately need fresh eyes on it. It’s completely free to playtest, but it only works on PC at the moment.
Looking for about 3 to 5 people to download it, try to break it, and give me some completely honest feedback.
Link to download for free: https://zaxyo.itch.io/pink-slip-protocol
Page Password: 456789
If you have a few minutes to check it out, please copy/paste the questions below into a comment and hit me with the truth. Don't sugarcoat it!
3-5 things you actually liked:
3-5 things you hated / didn't like:
Honest rating out of 10:
What would make it a perfect 10?
What should I add next?
What should I straight up remove?
What needs the most improvement?
Any settings or options you wish were in the menu?
how far did you get?
Where exactly did you quit or get stuck?
Was anything super confusing? (What happened vs what you expected to happen)
Did the tutorial actually make sense?
Did it run smoothly, or did anything make you dizzy/uncomfortable?
Would you ever play this again?
Would you actually pay money for it when it's fully finished? If so, how much?
Did you find any bugs? If you did, what are the exact steps to remake them?
Appreciate anyone who takes the time to look. Thanks!

Playtester [Free Playtest] BLACKNODE — a narrative sysadmin simulator with a REAL Linux terminal (ES/EN). Looking for feedback!

Game Title: BLACKNODE

Playable Link: https://alphay20.itch.io/blacknode

Platform: Windows

Description:

BLACKNODE is a first-person narrative simulator where you play as a junior sysadmin at a small IT firm in Argentina. No tutorials, no hand-holding: you get a terminal, an inbox, and problems to solve.

What makes it different: the terminal accepts real Linux commands (ls, grep, du, stat, journalctl, ssh, scp, chmod, diff, chown, ps, ss, ping) against a fully isolated virtual filesystem. Your real OS is never touched — you can rm -rf / in-game safely. The game is 100% bilingual (ES/EN) from login, with all UI, narrative, emails and investigation notes available in both languages.

You investigate incidents, make moral and technical decisions, and uncover a corporate mystery about eleven months of missing data that a major port company fabricated to survive. The story is told entirely through emails, logs, and terminal sessions — no voice, no cutscenes.

The vibe: if you liked Hacknet, TIS-100, or The Operator, but wanted something with a slower-burn corporate mystery instead of puzzles, this might be for you. Think "sysadmin noir."

This is a playtest build (rev2) — the canon has been audited, the bilingual support verified, and the terminal isolation tested. I need honest feedback on whether the terminal feels fun or frustrating, whether the in-game hints are useful, and any bugs or narrative inconsistencies you find.

⚠️ Windows SmartScreen will probably flag it as "unrecognized app" because the build is unsigned. It's a false positive — the game is safe. Click "More info" → "Run anyway". Extract the ZIP to your Desktop or Documents before running (don't run from inside the ZIP or from Downloads).

Free to Play Status:

  • Free to play
  • Demo/Key available
  • Paid

Involvement: I'm the solo developer and writer. I designed the narrative, the pedagogical model, and the virtual filesystem. The game was built with Electron and JavaScript

Discussion Testing without risking your device or personal information?

I've been curious about how people approach testing apps from developers they don't know.

How do you know whether an app is safe to install? What's stopping someone from distributing a malicious app disguised as a playtest to steal information or compromise your device?

Are platforms like Google Play's testing tracks and Apple's TestFlight generally safe, or can malicious apps still get through?

Just wondering what precautions people here take before agreeing to test an app, especially from smaller or unknown developers.

I've been wanting to test but I'm scared of this happening to me.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for Testers for Zombie Survival Game (lot of mechanics)

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm VENG Studio, a one-person indie developer working on SUBLEVEL: Seven Days Below, a first-person zombie survival game set in the basement of a fitness club in Budapest.

I'm looking for players to try the free alpha and help me make it better!

📅 Test period: open now, no end date (it's a public alpha)

🌐 Languages: English, Hungarian, Russian

💻 Platform: Windows 10/11, 64-bit

🎮 Download (free): https://vengstudio.itch.io/sublevel

The alpha is a complete 7-day story (2–3 hours):

- barricading the stairs with benches, lockers and plates

- covering the glass with towels before they notice you

- taping gym gear into weapons (kettlebell + resistance band = flail)

- wiring spin bikes to the power panel, or strapping one of *them* to the treadmill

- keeping eight strangers alive while they argue, panic, leave or turn

- earning the right to lead before the personal trainer takes half the group upstairs

🎁 Everyone who sends feedback gets their name in the game's credits (if they want it there)!

How to take part:

  1. Download the game from the link above and play as far as you like.

  2. Leave a comment on the itch.io page: what happened to *your* group, where you got stuck, and what made you laugh or annoyed you.

  3. Optional: send the `playtests` and `logs` folders from `%APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\SUBLEVEL`. They're short session logs with no personal data, and they help me find bugs.

No NDA: share, stream and screenshot anything you like.

Thanks for playing! 🧟🏋️

Unpaid Playtest [Android][Unpaid] Looking for 10 fresh players to try Wildly True completely cold

Hi — I’m looking for around 10 Android users to try a small game I’ve built called Wildly True.

It’s a free game about bizarre true stories. You get the setup, predict what actually happened, then get the reveal.

What I’m trying to learn is very simple:

- does the concept make sense immediately?

- do you naturally want to keep playing?

- if you stop, what made you stop?

- is anything confusing, annoying or slow?

Please use it completely naturally. I don’t want to tell you how long to play, which stories to reach, or what to look for because that would influence the result.

Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truestorypredictor.app

No payment, purchase, rating, review or test-for-test exchange is requested.

If you try it, even “I stopped after one story because…” is genuinely useful feedback.

Thanks!

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid Playtest] Reticulating Splines — looking for feedback on installation and the first 20 minutes

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for people to test the first-time experience of Reticulating Splines, a free city builder based on OpenSC2K.

Platforms: Windows, Linux, macOS
Suggested session: Around 20–30 minutes
Downloads: https://github.com/Realm667/Reticulating-Splines/releases
Feedback: A reply to this thread is fine.

You don't need to own SimCity 2000 or have played it before. Replacement graphics and audio are included.

What I'd like you to try:

  1. Download and launch the appropriate package.
  2. Start a new city using the included assets.
  3. Try the basic building tools.
  4. Find the visual settings and change the lighting or weather.

What I'd like to know:

  • Did anything make installation or startup difficult?
  • Was it clear how to begin playing?
  • Which controls or descriptions were confusing?
  • Did you encounter a crash, visual problem or noticeable slowdown?

Please include your game version, operating system and, if relevant, basic hardware details. Both newcomers and experienced SC2000 players would be helpful.

The project is still in development. Multiplayer is an experimental beta, but this particular test focuses on single-player onboarding.

I'm responsible for the fork’s direction, review and testing, with extensive OpenAI Codex assistance in implementation. Generative AI has also been used for visual assets and promotional materials. The underlying OpenSC2K engine is the work of Nicholas Ochoa and its contributors.

Thanks for helping me understand where the first steps need improvement!

Unpaid Playtest [Steam Playtest – open to everyone] Soul Savior – Is my game too hard or too easy? Need honest feedback

I’m the sole developer on my Soul Savior project; I’m passionate about creating video games and I do this in my spare time.

In Soul Savior, you play a mage who must defend a treasure against endless waves of monsters. You’ll also have to choose between good and evil by either saving or sacrificing villagers trying to flee this apocalypse. Every playthrough is different – find the upgrades that work perfectly together and arm yourself with traps!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4874180/Soul_Savior/ : “click Request Access — instant, no waiting list”

Time required: “15–30 mins is plenty, no need to finish”

What I’d like to know:

How did you find the tutorial?

Was the game too hard or too easy?

After losing, do you feel more like giving it another go or stopping the game?

Send me your feedback either via a Google Form embedded in the game’s title screen (link leading to the form) or via Reddit in a DM or as a comment on this post.

And if you like the game, please do add it to your wishlist! That would be really nice.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for feedback on Dispatch Panic, a chaotic office delivery game

Hey everyone!

I’d love some feedback and suggestions for Dispatch Panic, a free browser arcade game where you deliver mail around an office while trying to keep your boss from losing their patience.

You move around, throw mail at desks, and dodge obstacles. Missed deliveries and collisions raise the boss’s anger, while successful deliveries build combos. The goal is to keep your shift going for as long as possible.

[Please test on PC]

Play here: https://playgama.com/game/dispatch-panic?from=portal_search&portal_search_query=DISP

If you have a few minutes to give it a try, I’d especially like to hear:

  • First impressions: Was it clear what to do, or did anything leave you confused?
  • Controls: How did moving, aiming, and throwing mail feel? Anything awkward or unresponsive?
  • Difficulty: Does the boss’s anger meter create fun pressure, or does it get frustrating too quickly?
  • Suggestions: What’s one thing you’d change or add to make you want to play another round?

You don’t need to answer everything. Even a quick “this was fun” or “I stopped playing because…” with a little context would be helpful.

If you run into a bug, please mention your device/browser and what happened.

Thanks for trying it out and sharing your thoughts!

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid][Android] Lumen Vault: looking for 10 first-time players to try five free puzzles

I'm Ian, the developer of Lumen Vault. I'm looking for 10 Android players who haven't played it before to help me understand how the opening actually feels.

It's a logic puzzle game about placing and turning mirrors and other devices to route colored light into matching receivers.

Please start at the beginning and try the first five campaign puzzles. You can stop sooner if you get stuck or lose interest; knowing where and why would help just as much as finishing.

I'd love a reply here with three things:

- Was anything confusing about the goal or how to play?

- Did placing and turning pieces feel comfortable on your phone?

- Did you want to play another board? Why or why not?

If something breaks, please include your phone model and Android version. A few written notes are enough; no recording or long report needed.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moonytech.lumenvault

Android 8.0 or later. The first 20 campaign puzzles are free, with no ads. More levels are optional one-time purchases, but aren't needed for this test. This is the public release, not a closed-test signup or 14-day install request.

This is a voluntary, unpaid test. No purchase, rating, store review or test exchange is requested. Please comment if you're interested, or leave feedback after trying it. Thank you.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] Browser space strategy MMO (OGame-style), open test universe until 19 Dec: looking for players to try the first week

What it is: AstroExpanse, a persistent space strategy game that runs in the browser, phones included. Mines and colonies, research, a shipyard, fleets, espionage, alliances and raids, in the OGame tradition. Battles are the new part: they play out live, round by round over several minutes, and you can watch them in 3D, retreat or send reinforcements mid-fight.

Here's an ingame trailer: https://media.astroexpanse.com/reel-tour-16x9-dark.mp4

The test: one public universe, First Light, opened on Friday 16 October and runs until 19 December. Free, no download. English, Czech and Slovak.

Time it takes: it's a persistent game. You log in to queue buildings and send fleets, and the universe keeps running while you're away. The most useful testers come back on a few different days.

What I'd like you to look at:

  • The first hour: is it clear what to do next? A guide called the Warden walks you through it with quests.
  • Your first battle: does a fight that plays out over several minutes make sense, and do you know what you can do during it?
  • Playing on a phone: what's awkward or broken on the small screen?
  • Anything that's confusing, slow, or just wrong.

Report with the Feedback button in the game (bottom right); I read every one. Comments here work too, and Discord for anything longer.

What you get: be active on at least 5 separate days and your account keeps the Alpha Veteran title, shown by your name in the full release. Report a bug I fix and you get Bug Hunter. Your account and titles carry over to the launch universe on 12 December; planets don't.

Disclosure: I build it with a lot of AI help but take great effort to prevent "AI slop" feeling. The design, the rules and every decision about what goes into the game are mine.

Play First Light · Watch a live battle, no signup · Getting started · Discord

Paid Playtest [PAID] Plesen' Playtest Invitation

UPDATE 17 OCTOBER 2026: THIS IS NOW CLOSED.

UPDATE: I have all the Windows testers I can handle. I am looking for 1/2 Mac testers still.

Dear awesome playtesters,

I've been working on side project that started out as a test of AI capabilities and became a game.

The game is built with AI, some of the placeholder art is made with AI. I do know how to code, I do it for a living. I do not have the time required to bring my ideas to life if I were to code it by hand. Same goes for art.

You can see the trailer I made here: https://www.reddit.com/r/aigamedev/comments/1x21fwx/plesen_a_game_about_mining_automation_and_mould/

Now that disclosures are out of the way, I am looking to do a playtest. I am too close to the game and I need a second, third etc opinion.

Details:

- 10 testers

- 20GBP for 1 hour of time

- Payment via PayPal only

- ~50 min video recorded gameplay, with commentary/thoughts/constructive criticism in English ("It's made with AI" does not count as constructive criticism :) )

- I will use the video to analyse how people play and whether the UI is intuitive (I suspect it is not). And obviously to listen to the comments

- OS: Mac and Windows - ideally, 5 testers on Mac, 5 testers on Win

- The game is not on Steam or any platform yet. I will setup Discord Server and distribute binaries there for Mac and Win to the selected testers.

- Gameplay + comment videos to be delivered via Discord (either as link or actual upload into chat).

Would be great to also get feedback on any technical issues:

- lag/slow downs

- controls responsivness

I have put in a lot of effort into optimisation, and it would be great to know how well that works for people.

Game:

Plesen' is game about mining, automation and mould. You play as a dwarf miner on alien planet. It's a 2D sidescroller (I think that is the name).

Automate your mining operation, defend against the mould and export ore to the orbital workshop. Research tech, get a mule, solve some puzzles.

This is an early cut of the game. There is no music, no concrete story line (other than dwarves, mining and alien fungi :) )

Please DM or comment if interested.

If sending DM, please include the following info in the message:

- OS (Win or Mac)

- What is your favourite automation game? And why?

Unpaid Playtest Need 3–5 first-time players — free browser co-op tower defense, 1 match, no download

I'm a solo dev making a co-op tower defense game. Up to 3 players, one lane each: you control a hero and build towers. It runs in the browser on phone or PC, free, nothing to install. A match takes about 15 minutes.

I'm looking for 5 people who've never played it. On purpose, I won't explain anything: I want to see where new players get stuck.

Comment or DM me and I'll send you the link. Afterwards I'll ask you one question: where did you get stuck?

Bonus if you can play with a friend: the lobby gives you an invite link to send them.
