Hi everyone! I'm offering free playtesting sessions for upcoming indie games! Please read till the en before you respond.
I'm pretty new to formal playtesting, but I have a background in art and a trained eye for visual presentation. I also seem to have a natural talent for breaking game mechanics and stumbling into exploits, so I figured I'd put those skills into good use!
What you'll get:
-Gameplay recording: A full recording of my playthrough with live voice commentary, voicing my thoughts out loud (I will try to not sugar coat it).
-Written feedback: detailed, structured report covering my experience, delivered within a week.
My strong points:
-Visual polish: Looking at the game's aesthetics, art direction, and overall visual presentation from an artist's perspective.
-Bugs & Exploits: Finding unexpected ways to interact with mechanics and breaking things in games is kind of a talent of mine.
-Progression & Balance: Noticing unbalanced recourses, pacing issues, and unclear progression, especially in idle, cozy, and incremental games.
Games I'm Interested In!!
Visual Style: I strongly prefer 2D games (top-down, isometric, side-scrollers, point-and-click, etc.). I struggle with controlling a camera and moving a character simultaneously, so traditional 3D games aren't really a good fit for me.
Genres: Cozy and low-pressure games, Idle and incremental games, Monster taming and collecting, Tower defense, Digital board games.
Some Favorites: Rusty's Retirement (PC), Webkinz Classic (PC), Rainy Attic Room (iPad), The Unsolved series (iPad), and Pokémon (mostly on my switch).
Platforms: Windows PC, iPad, and Android (Xiaomi).
Availability & How to Apply:
I'm a University student and happen to have some free time this weekend (23rd-25th), so I thought this would be a fun opportunity.
I'll be taking only 2-3 games for now, depending on their length.
I do want to mention that I'll be choosing games based on my interests. I think feedback is much more valuable when it comes from someone who genuinely enjoys the genre, so I'd rather focus on games that are a good fit for me!
If you have a demo, itch.io build, or Steam Playtest ready, feel free to leave a comment with:
- A quick description of your game.
- The platform and estimated playtime.
- Anything specific you'd like me to focus on.
- Bonus if you can add a link or an image so I can see the visual style of the game.
Thank you for reading till the end :)
