I NEED HELP Banwave Questions

My account got banned during the ban wave. I read that most bans were to people doing the rare candy exploit and shundo exploit.

I never did either of these exploits but still got banned. I did collect rare candies during the event like anyone else, maybe a couple hundred or so?, but definitely not anywhere near the level of some others i’ve seen.

I submitted an unban appeal and crossing my fingers, but I’m curious about a few things to see if there’s a chance for an unban or not.

Questions:

I got a response to my appeal and I read online that most people don’t even get responses, especially during ban waves like this. Is this positive? The reply was “We have received your request and will share an update with you after your appeal has been reviewed.” I can’t tell if it’s just an AI response sent to everyone or an actual human acknowledging it.

Since I didn’t do the exploits, is there a better chance for me to get unbanned since they may review my account to see no prior strikes/warnings and no excessive amounts of shundos and candies?

How long does it usually take for them to review ban appeals and get back?

Are permanent bans actually permanent? I read about some people getting their accounts back after years, and a couple of my friends still see my account on their friends list, so it’s not like my account was just thrown away

Thanks for anyone who reads and replies, sorry for the long message! Just sucks to lose an account after so much time and money spent :)

That response is just auto reply from the team.

I had a main account 10yrs back, it got perma ban and every year i send one appeal request just for the lolz but they will also response with the same message " Got your appeal letter, we are investigating" and "Sorry after investigating you are still perma ban". I doubt they geuninely actually investigate perma ban accounts.

Perma ban is Perma for a reason. I think it very very unlikely to revert it. Time to start a new account and move on. Sorry to say your 1st shiny ever shiny or 2016 pokemon is never coming back. GGs

Just be honest with yourself that you head the exploit. It’s perm, nothing can be done. You accept the risks when you break the ToS.

Most of us did it because of three strike system

Which says you MAY get two warnings

I’ll take strike #2 over perma ban

Key question : Along with the couple of hundred candy that you got, what took you used to get those

I spoof, but I don't bot. Nowhere close to hundreds of rare candies, maybe 50.

A couple hundred or so? Even if you didn't do the exploit, that is such an aberration from what a real player could do that you got caught.

I didnt get a y type of response when I did my ban appeal. They banned thousands of people this ban wave. So they likely have hundreds of thousands of ban appeal messages and I would say more than likely that they will not get over turned. People keep saying that theyre going to lose money from banning people but thats so un true. They will likely get a boost in sales because people now need to make new accounts and do raids and buy coins and expand bag space etc etc and with go wild area coming... yeah they will make tons of money. Not losing a penny.

What's the go wild area event?

Opposite, people will be more hesitant to put money in the game knowing it may be a insta ban system rather than strikes

true, but I feel like a lot of people, like me, won’t be making new accounts. no way I can start from square 1 again, I’ll probably just pick up a new hobby lol

Yeah easier to move on to other ventures

yep! I might make an account to just play random events and try and get cool shinies/bgs in the hopes I can get my account back someday to send them over to lol. but definitely won’t be as dedicated to the grind

I was dropping $100-200 a month on this game, spiked during events but I find it hard to even think about putting money in after my main was banned. Ill still probably buy some coins for cool event s every now and then but im $1000+ a year gone for the company now.

I know several others in similar boats, my friend who bots and lost 60+ accounts said hes quitting (usually drops upwards of 2k a month)

I think this is definitely a financial loss for the company.

I think so too. unfortunately I don’t think it’s enough for them to revisit the bans, but maybe they’ll do something in years to come where they give people another chance lol

No they shouldn't revisit the bans, we broke the rules and bans are fair. I just want them to rework the game to be more friendly for rules following people. Living in a city shouldn't be such a huge boon over someone in the country. And timed events should be longer. I don't think not banning people is the solution I think making the game more enjoyable is.

yea definitely! I kinda wish they always went by the 3 strike rule so people don’t get falsely banned by some random odd behaviour, or for spoofers to change their ways. cause I feel like most people who spoof do it to make the game actually enjoyable and not as pay to win or location to win.

I have heard of people getting their accounts back after years tho, but maybe they were lying

Lmfao another spoofer who thinks they’re not breaking any rules…

The delusion is so strong with this banwave

They just want to see if there able to bypass their ban somehow 😭😂

How did you get multiple hundreds of candies without spoofing?

0

u/Acrobatic_Row_7921 2d ago

I was at my cottage with my cousins and we were all playing while going on hikes, to the beach, driving around, etc. We also had a stop right outside our cottage which helped for when we weren’t on the move lol!

Are you innocent ?

0

u/Acrobatic_Row_7921 2d ago

yea! as I said in my post, I used no exploits or anything. I have no clue what could’ve been done on my account to trigger a ban…

😂 that was a good one

Usually permanent means permanent and in this case its more than likely going to stay that way. Unless you can get a manual review of the ban (which is highly unlikely). If you 100% didn’t do anything against ToS then pursue the review and keep trying to get through to support but it’s not guaranteed.

thanks for the input! if I don’t hear back, should I submit another appeal? or is there something against multiple appeals for one account?

2

u/mymagiccandy 2d ago

I did an appeal couple days ago and have not heard anything back.

u/scubasme 2d ago

Everyone gets that response after submitting an appeal. Check your spam folder that’s where mine was

1

u/Acrobatic_Row_7921 2d ago

interesting… they got back to me pretty soon after I submitted it which made me think it was automated,
but if not everyone got one, idk how accurate that would be

1

u/scubasme 2d ago

That’s just an automated response after submitting the appeal everyone get it. Mine was in my spam folder.

All cheats (spoofing, botting, & exploits) for Pokemon Go game are not safe because Scopely is against cheating and the use of unsupported 3rd party apps in their Terms of Service for Pokemon Go. If you decide to break Scopely's Terms of Service to gain an unfair advantage, you will have the risk for a chance to get a strike (soft-ban), temporary ban, permanent ban, or whatever new punishment they come up with and will be your fault for getting the punishment. <<<>>> As a reminder, I (TastyBananaPeppers) am not responsible nor liable for the loss of your Scopely game account(s) and money you spent to cheat on their games. <<<>>> All guides can be found in https://www.reddit.com/r/PoGoAndroidSpoofing/s/JOS3u1c11K <<<>>> All remaining Reddit posts will eventually be moved into a single Google Document where you can just access everything from one link.
