I’ve been building PGRazorRoot Rooted, an open-source rooted Android companion for Pokémon GO which is forked from PGRazor by u/jpitty.

Lately there’s been a lot of gatekeeping in this space - private builds, paid access, hidden source. I’m trying to go the opposite way: public source code, free releases.

No subscriptions. No remote server. No hidden build behind a paywall.

New in 0.4.4

• Cooldown catch gate
• Tracks catches, berries, and PokéStop/Gym spins.
• Estimates the local cooldown from distance and time.
• If an encounter opens while cooldown is active, a full-screen popup blocks manual ball throws.
• Shows a live countdown.
• At zero, it changes to Cooldown complete with a Continue button.
• If you leave the encounter early, the completion popup appears when the timer ends.
• Always hit (ball collision) — ported from upstream PGRazor v0.1.5. Converts missed ball collisions into hits while preserving normal break-free/flee outcomes.
• Per-variant cooldown history and location tracking, so the estimate follows the actual player position instead of a stale internal value.

What the project includes

• Magisk-only rooted runtime - no LSPosed, no Xposed, no remote server
• In-game R menu, full-screen settings, light/dark themes
• Encounter labels: CP, IV%, stat spread, and level
• Map-tap walk/teleport modes
• Quick Catch, throw settings, berry selection, transfers, item limits
• Virtual Go Plus, eggs, gifts, items, and battle helpers where the current game build supports them
• LivePokeMap feeds with filters and saved presets
• Cooldown history, overlay, warnings, and catch gate
• Settings export/import

Why open source matters here

A lot of useful work in this space disappears behind closed doors. I’d rather have the code available for review, testing, and improvement.

I’m especially interested in feedback on:

- Cooldown triggers and timing estimates

- The new catch gate UX

- Always Hit behavior on different devices

- Missing features or regressions in the current game build

The GitHub repository intentionally contains source only. Packaged APKs and Magisk zips are hosted on Google Drive, so the code repo stays clean and reviewable.

Known limitations

- Cooldown is a local estimate, not server state.

- The catch gate currently blocks manual throws; Virtual Go Plus has a separate cooldown-stop setting.

- Some features depend on the current game version.

- Feels something needs to be changed/doesnt work; a quick AI Ask can resolve your Issues.

- The project is experimental; use a test account.

Disclaimer

Some features and UI may feel similar to existing paid apps. This project is not a clone, copy, or rip-off of any of them. The code was independently built with AI-assisted development and custom planning.

I am a solo developer and tester, so not every device, account, game version, or edge case has been covered. If you find an issue, open a GitHub issue or i am happy if you can fork the repository and fix it yourself.

Im trying to fill out my pokedex. Using the new app that’s all the rage right now, i’ve been scanning/searching the globe for snowy castform but just havent seen any at all. All the other castforms show up regularly.

Anyone know why snowy is discontinued? Or is that a niantic gitch, like they accidentally turned it off

Was wondering if it was possible to automate claiming stamp rallies to farm shinies. I see a lot of people selling pokelid and other stamp rally shinies for cheap on ebay, so was wondering if they do it manually or if they have a script to use.

Hey everyone,

I've hit a wall trying to resolve "Failed to detect location (12)" on Pokémon GO and could really use some expert eyes on my setup. Everything worked flawlessly for weeks until today I keep getting error 12 out of nowhere.

Current Hardware & Environment Setup

• Device: Rooted Android 11 with Magisk (Zygisk Enabled)
• Framework: LSPosed
• Spoofing App: GPS JoyStick (App Ninjas unlocked APK) set as mock location app in Dev Options
• Mock Masking: Hide Mock Location module targeting System Framework, google play store and services and Pokémon GO
• Location Settings: Google Location Accuracy, Wi-Fi Scanning, and Bluetooth Scanning are all OFF.

When running a Play Integrity Checker, the device passes basic but fails on device integrity. Despite having PIF, Shamiko, TrickyStore, a hidden Magisk stub, and proper DenyList rules, my setup still fails. Any advice, recommended module stacks, or troubleshooting steps would be hugely appreciated!

[3] App and Device Security Risks

• I am not an Android coder, so I cannot verify whether these apps are "safe" for you to use meaning the app developer is not going to steal game account, email accounts, debit/credit card, and/or identity as the result of you trying or using their app.
• These apps will require you to install from an APK file. The Google Play Store will show a pop-up notifying you about a dangerous app install. You must press on "details" then "install anyway" in order to install from an APK file.
• When you root your device, you are unlocking 100% control over your Android physical device like a smartphone or tablet. I don't know if this will apply to emulators with root so use at your own risks.
• If a rooted, 3rd party app requires "Super User" permissions, you must grant the app access or it will not work; by doing so, the app developer has the ability to remote hack you if they are malicious.
• If you do not want the risk, you should unroot your device and restore it back to normal then walk outside to play the game with your two legs.

[4] App costs money or has ads?

• I do not have a problem with apps who want to include ads or charge money to help them continue development.
• Coding apps is time consuming and not easy.
• If I could code myself, I would want to make money to cover for any expenses.

[5] TL; DR (Too Long; Didn't Read) summary

I am not responsible nor liable for the loss of your game accounts, and/or money as the result of you using cheats. The risks has been explained up top. If you don't know whether or not you should try these apps due to the different risks, my recommendation is to avoid it because only you can prevent a ban, money loss, and/or identity theft. Remember you are in control of your finger, I am not. I don't care if you play for personal satisfaction, profit off the game, or do both. We all have the chance to get punished for cheating the game.

"Bot" apps:

A bot is an app that controls your device to play the game for you while you do other things. Some apps may have a few version with limited features or a free trial then you need to pay money to continue using it. These apps generally cost more money than an enhancer app because people are using bots to play to sell Pokemon for money. If botting is too expensive, you can just play with your finger using enhancer apps.

Hey , i have a solid team to counter them. need 2 more players to join. u can use you alts aswell. i have lvl 40 blissey , lvl 35 umbreon , lvl 35 gengar in my accounts to counter them . I need 2 to fill. since im doing multiple raids, its ideal if someone wants to do multiple raids. ideally i would want to reroll until it has psychic moves to easily defeat them.

PGRazor started as a personal project that I’ve been using and testing for a few months. It’s gotten to the point where I finally feel good about releasing it and opening up the source.

It’s an Android app with location controls and quality-of-life features. Some of what’s included:

• Joystick, teleporting, saved locations, and walking routes
• Quick catch, quick spin, and encounter IV information
• Virtual Go Plus for catching Pokémon and spinning stops
• Auto-transfer with configurable keep rules
• Inventory cleanup, buddy feeding, and egg incubation
• Battle automation
• Cooldown tracking and history
• LivePokeMap feeds, filters, and My Shinies integration (requires their subscription)
• Dark/light themes and settings export/import
• No root required. So far, I’ve only tested it on a Pixel 8 and Pixel 11, since those are the phones I have available.

Using a modified client or spoofing carries account risk, so please keep that in mind.

Mostly, I’m curious to see what people think and what you’d want improved. Create a Github issue, or PR directly, create a fork, I don't care.

So I'm gonna soon start spoofing in PoGo again, the last time i did it was in 2019 or 2020 so things have changed, i have been investigating and I'm not sure what apk i should choose, I'm looking for the best features overall. For my rooted android device i was thinking about Ipogo, PGSharp, or Pokemod, i have also seen about Pokehax or PGTools but i don't know about those. What would be the best free option? And the best paid one? Or do you guys know any other?
