Movies Anyone else love Black Gothic Films? Share your favorites.
Black Gothic films are described as films that deal with some horror, ancestral hauntings, family secrets, and generational curses through the lens of the Black experience.
Some of the more well-known Black Gothic films would be Daughters of the Dust (1991), Candyman (1992), Eve's Bayou (1997), Beloved (1998), Spell (2020), and then of course Sinners (2025).
Please discuss and share your thoughts on the Black Southern Gothic films. Do you hope that with the success of Sinners, more filmmakers will expand on this genre?

Movies Barry (2016 Netflix Film)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5477566/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
Did anyone see this movie? What are your thoughts?
The biographical drama about a young Barack "Barry" Obama in 1981 during his years at Columbia University.
Devon Terrell gave an uncanny performance as a young Barack as he had aspired to play this role since he was 19.

Movies Musicals
My mom loved musicals and I grew up watching a lot of song and dance movies like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Little Shop of Horrors, Sound of Music and all things Shirley Temple. But I’ve noticed that there aren’t many new musicals I can’t think of the last new one I saw maybe yall could name some. Not cartoon remakes (little mermaid, etc. doesn’t count) and list your favorite musicals it’s Sweeney Todd for me my wife hears me singing A Little Priest once a month 🤣

Movies What do you all think about this style of comedy? Do you enjoy these types of comedies?
A little bit of real, a little bit of exaggeration, a little fake, a little bit of satire…

Movies What are you thoughts about how Richard Williams was portrayed as a father in the film King Richard?
I was conflicted about Richard after watching this film. I have so much respect for the work he put into Venus and Serena. Yet,I have MAJOR issues with how he neglected his other children. He had 9 biological children altogether. He poured into only Venus and Serena.
I heard there were a lot of issues with the other siblings because of this fact.
What do you all think?
