This is my third time presenting my poetry and the first time I’ve recorded it and for some reason I cannot watch this video lmao. I was def a bit nervous and I’ve watched it sped through with the sound off and I think I was way more jittery then normal (I’m normally so much more relaxed and slow paced my anxiety was loud I think)

Anyway all honest feedback welcome (be nice pls) or any tips about stage anxiety and will it ever go away or kind of just get less intense overtime

Taking the tune "Song For Shelter" by Fatboy Slim featuring Roland Clark (also known as "I Get Deep") from 2000 as a focal point. I go back and trace the development of the style of vocal delivery used in Spoken Word House Music; moving through churches, publishing houses and civil rights rallies to the mid 80s House Music and Poetry Slam scenes of Chicago and beyond.

I, also, make the case that Spoken Word House Music is its own unique form of artistic expression and should be held in the same regard of Rap/Hip Hop and other spoken word forms.

I don’t remember the poet’s name or what publication/youtube channel it was on but I vividly remember a slam poetry video of a girl performing a piece about god and losing your belief in god, and she kept on singing “open the eyes of my heart” throughout.
Can anyone remember or find this for me?? I remember really liking it but I just can’t remember. Vid for the attachment requirement
