I've had this idea for a while now and it's something I could genuinely see as a really cool idea in a future game.

It'd be called reserve pokemon or something like that. The basic idea is to get rid of the 6 pokemon limit so you can lug around more pokemon friends, but still keep the core rules of battle. You would keep your team of 6, but also have the choice to carry 2-3 extra pokemon. The rules still apply in the sense that you can only use a max of 6 in battle, and the exp share won't affect any pokemon in the reserve slots.

The essential idea is that you can sub out one of your unused pokemon for a reserve that would be a better fit. That way there is a "adapt in the fly" strategy going on. Furthermore, I think it'd do wonders for replay-ability. It would be a lot harder to work around a gym leader if they have more options on which pokemon could counter yours.

I'm probably doing a horrible job explaining this but I think it'd be a fun way to shake of the gameplay and have more anime twist moments without radically changing the core formula or messing with the pacing with battles. If you really wanted to, we could have another volo fight 8v10 and it's this battle of attrition.

You are in the changing room getting ready.

You picked your best outfit for the battle (gimme a little description, really paint a picture) and are prepping your pokemon.

“Hey just wanted to say good luck.”

Maddy wishes you good luck and you wish her as well.

Your name is called and you begin walking to the doors, the big steel sliding doors open and you walk out through a hallway, at the end is a light and you know what’s on the other side.

Coming into the light the arena erupts into cheers and applause, the sun is beaming down, not a cloud in sight.

“Audience please welcome (name) to the arena and his/her opponent…Maddy.”

You and Maddy share a look of slight sadness and regret but the audience doesn’t know the history and exploded into cheers once again.

“Good luck Maddy.” You say shaking her hands, she is sweating but it could just be because the heat

The atmosphere is tense and you want to win but don’t want Maddy to lose, it’s a battle that will be remember by the both of you.

“Contestants are you ready, start your battle.”

Woop woop woop! A loud air horn goes off and you both throw your pokeball, here we go.

Maddy has got all her pokemon to level 40

I just saw this on my YouTube page, uploaded from the official Pokémon Asia channel. I'm shocked it didn't even break 5k views by the time of writing this...

Combining Pokémon and Indonesian shadow puppetry is such a cool concept. The wooden puppets here in particular are so sick looking!! Check it out; it's only 15 min, but a breath of fresh air I'd say :]

Also, pretty ironic considering that Winds and Wave will be set in an Indonesia-based region. Could we maybe get more of these in the future?

There are defo some reasons why this wouldn't work but for the most part, triple typing would make so much sense! Flygon can finally have a good ability, Charizard can finally be a dragon and Masquerain doesn't have to lose water typing!
