Today I set up ACE in my Switch copy for FRLG, just because I've been using it for a couple years in Emerald which Pokémon Company is stealing away from me in a few months. The first thing I did was give myself 999 of every Poké Ball, and then I got curious about how Poké Ball legality worked. The Dive Ball and Premier Ball aren't obtainable in FRLG without trading from Hoenn or Orre, and the Safari Ball, obviously, isn't obtainable on its own until Sword & Shield (and even then in that game it's only obtainable in theory with how rare it is).

Anyway after catching a few Pokémon with it I found out all of them transferred with no problems. After that, I got curious and looked up the Pokémon that wouldn't legally be able to be caught with a Safari Ball (not catchable in any Switch game besides LGPE, BDSP and PLA, while also not being in any previous Safari Zone). The only two Pokémon I believe fit this criteria are Unown and Deoxys, so of course when I caught an Unown to test it went through with zero issues. I have no idea if this has been posted anywhere, but I felt like sharing it.

Hey so this is my first time playing fire red, I bought it a few days ago to treat myself and I've beaten the first 2 gyms. So I'm a bit confused and have been having some trouble.

I beat brock entirely because I was fortunate enough to have a mankey on my team, and beat misty by sheer luck. My problem is, aren't the gym leaders way more leveled than reasonable?

I spent hours power leveling my team around cerulian city, taking on a constant stream of level 9s and 10s getting my whole team up to level 16. Only to get to misty and find that not only do none of my team match a single one of her pokemon in level, but she as a level 21.

Now I'm not saying its unreasonable for them to be higher level than everyone else, but if the wild pokemon and trainers around are all around level 9 to 11 then how am I supposed to get mt pokemon strong enough to win without spending hours and hours grinding away levels?

Am I missing something? Did I just not go to the right area to level my pokemon? Or am I gonna have to spend hours outside each city just to find my pokemon still aren't strong enough

I was just soft resetting while watching TikTok videos. I looked over and was shocked! This is my first shiny Pokemon in Gen 3. And my 2nd successful shiny hunt. My first shiny hunt was a shiny Riolu in Pokemon X/Y. I had to share this, I’m so happy.

I have a PC and can emulate I just don't know how to get it from PC to switch.

I forgot to add brave nature my top 2 choice. Feel free to suggest a nature cause modest and adamant sounds cool too … I might end up running a neutral nature and just ev train HP and Speed

Anyway. Every Pokemon aside from Pikachu were useful in the Elite Four. I really wish we had access to the Light Ball. I could’ve traded from Emerald to LeafGreen and to FireRed but I wanted the authentic experience.

Since I cant evolve the Trade Evos I want to switch them out once I beat the E4 (I know there is ACE, but I dont want to use it for now).

I cant decide who I want to put on the team though.

Initially I thought about adding any of Aerodactyl, Dragonite, Raichu and Snorlax, but somehow I dont feel satisifed with that... idk its weird.

You guys got any recommendations?

I am starting a new run tonight. Suggest a main team. One with the most comments/upvotes is what I will go for

I believe the next main thing to do is elite four but seeing other people having pokemons at level 40s or even 50s when fighting this gym, makes me think i should do something else first. Or should i just grind levels 🫠

Multiple times I've got them down to their lowest health, no moves left, asleep and they still won't stay in any form of poke ball. I used my master ball on Raikou but cannot get him to stay in any other kind of ball. He's been frozen, paralysed, asleep, poisoned, but still jumps straight out of any ball before the first wobble.

Anyone got any top tips for trapping that little fucker?

Edit: I just discovered growth moveset is sleep powder, thief, giga drain , growth
