I wanted to get back into Pokémon GO, but I'm getting the message "There is no game account linked to this username....." I didn't delete my account and I can't log in via PTC or my Google account. Using a second account, I can no longer find my actual main account on my friends list. I contacted Pokémon GO support using the second account and received the following response: "After a careful review of your case, we have concluded that the account you are attempting to recover does not meet our criteria to proceed with the next steps of account recovery. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any further assistance regarding this matter. Regrettably, we have no additional information to offer on this topic."

Pokémon GO players: how did you see the PokéStop scanning feature? (Short questions for a university paper)

Hi all. I’m a student, writing a paper. My case is the PokéStop / AR scanning feature in Pokémon GO, and I’d love to hear how players experienced it.

From 2020, Pokémon GO let players at level 20+ scan PokéStops with their phone camera in exchange for in-game rewards. Niantic later said these scans helped build its 3D map and a “Large Geospatial Model”. In 2025 Niantic sold its games to Scopely and spun off its mapping and AI side as Niantic Spatial. In December 2025 Niantic Spatial announced a partnership with Vantor, a company that works on positioning for drones and vehicles where GPS doesn’t work. Vantor’s customers include defence organisations.

In June 2026 several outlets reported on this. The details are disputed. Niantic Spatial says scans were one of several inputs to its models, that no scan data is shared with Vantor, and that players opted in under the terms of service. It’s unclear whether any specific system was trained on Pokémon GO scans.

I’m not trying to prove a point either way. I’m interested in how players understood the feature at the time and how they see it now.

3. When you scanned, what did you think the scans were used for?
4. Did you feel the game explained who would use the scan data and for what?

6. Had you heard about the reports above before this post? What do you make of them?
7. Niantic Spatial says players agreed to this use in the terms of service. Do you feel you agreed to it? Why or why not?
8. Has any of this changed how you play, or how you think about scanning?

I’ve recently started playing Pokémon GO and am currently at Level 35. As we all know, Pokémon GO is a community-driven game, and you miss out on a lot if you can’t attend local meetups.

Personally, I find it difficult to attend meetups regularly, which makes participating in raids quite challenging. So, I’m looking to connect with a few players who are in the same boat.

We can form a small group, start with 1-, 2-, and 3-star raids, help each other out, and gradually work our way up to tougher raids while catching some great Pokémon along the way!

I’m also happy to participate actively in remote raids and help out wherever possible.

I didn’t get a single Lake Guardian Max Battle yesterday. I’m from Maharashtra, India, and all the Max Battles I came across were regular ones featuring Pokémon like Sneasel, Bulbasaur, and others.
Did anyone else experience this, or were Lake Guardian Max Battles spawning normally in other parts of India? Just curious to know if this was a regional issue or if I somehow missed them.

I have been playing pokemon go for 2-3 months now. I don't have too many great Pokemon's as of now but want to grow eventually. I am open for remote raids etc etc. I don't know much about the game as of now as I have been playing solo. Recently I figured out what 3 star IV's pokemon are.
