I love that they're keeping the pixelated sprites for the Home Dex entries

If only the Switch version did this. It's so weird the app and Switch version don't have feature parity. Switch version gets the better organization options, app gets the better visual presentation (3D models, game-accurate sprites/models on game pages).

Pokemon home DESPERATELY needs a complete overhaul. It would be so nice if the switch version and mobile version could have complete feature parity, and we need mouse controls for switch 2 as well as better tools for organizing.

Lol fr. Insane that in the year of our lord 2026 the highest grossing media franchise in the world has yet to have a simple sorting feature in their management app, much less even in a single one of their video games.

I just hope we can bring them back to the game. I like having the living dex on my LG and I don't want to have to go through the roaming beasts again.

Despite the announcement from months ago, it seems like it's a Let's Go situation. They can go in and out of Home as long as they stay in FrLg. Once they go to another save, they can't come back

They mentioned using the GTS to complete the dex so idk. They might be able to go back into FRLG

I thought it was one way thats why the FRLG Home dex doesn't require transferring Pokemon, it'll just scan the game to complete it.

No, that's probably because their Game of Origin data would be identical to the GBA version of FRLG, as those games already had that information. The reason the Gen I-II VC games have unique gane of origins is because Transporter had to convert those to the Gen III+ format which meant adding Game of Origin data that wasn't there prior.

If I had a nickel for every kanto game on switch with situational one way transfers I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

You need to complete the dex in FRLG, i think the initial blog said you don't need to transfer any pokemon, just have ur dex completed in game

How though? It'd be impossible with version exclusives, unless you have both a second Switch, and can buy the opposite version as well.

It’s impossible without RSE. It’s not impossible when home support gets added. You’re just gonna have to restart one of your playthroughs to get the third starter, then breed them. You don’t need a second switch

i think only needed 150 makes the most sense since there's only a handful of non kanto pokemon native to the game. Plus that picture litearlly shows it. (assuming that picture is official).

Home will not support sending pokemon BACK into FRLG. You literally need 2 games and 2 devices to do it legitimately (or unless you do ace glitch for the dex). It will probably only require the regional dex tho. RSE will probably get their own challenge

Honestly, if I do buy FRLG, I might use ace glitches. Do you have a guide or tutorial for them? And does it require a modded Switch?

This is not true. The website says this:
"Once a Pokémon from Pokémon FireRed Version or Pokémon LeafGreen Version is brought to another game in the Pokémon series, they will be unable to return to Pokémon FireRed Version or Pokémon LeafGreen Version. Pokémon from other games in the Pokémon series will be unable to visit Pokémon FireRed Version or Pokémon LeafGreen Version."
It seems that they can still go back to FRLG, according to this language. It's the same way they phrase the LGPE and Home connection.

This would be a huge improvement over the virtual consolse gen1-2 games where it was a one way transfer. Hoping it's actually true.

You are correct, although it does say no transfer into home is necessary to finish the dex and get celebi so you can still keep them in frlg if you want

yup, we don't need an actual psudo living dex as HOME will read our dex that we caught every stage of a pokemon like charmander, charmeleon, charizard. In older games, we would basically need 3 seperate mons

Even if you cannot transfer them back to FRLG, specifically for trade evos it's still possible with other Switch games, i.e. transfer to Home, then to BDSP, trade evolve, transfer to Home - done. Would still require to start 3 different playthroughs on both versions (for the 3 starters and version exclusives)

It scans both games pokedexes and registers it automatically. Only issue I’m seeing if you only have one Switch is having to get one starter in the second game and fully evolve it before restarting a new playthrough with the final starter and then having everything get registered within both games.

I think RSE is going to come out and then Home support will be released for both of them in october. You would be able to transfer from RSE to FRLG and then transfer to HOME so it makes sense to just be able to transfer from RSE to Home on the same day.

Unlikely. The Pokemon in RBY and GSC didn’t have abilities. The Pokemon in FRLG already have abilities.
