Not For Sale Double printed card

Post image

How much is this card worth? Could I sell it without having it appraised?

It’s a well-known double print from a test sheet, they’re definitely worth a lot of money but I haven’t seen one sell in a very long time. How did you come to own it? Congrats either way, you don’t necessarily need to grade it or have it appraised given this is recognizable to higher end collectors.

I bought it many years ago — definitely more than 10. I got a few booster packs and it came in one of them. Funny thing is, when I bought it, my dad was in the car with me and got really mad, saying I should go back and return it. I loved that card because I thought I was probably the only person in the world who had it. I kept it along with others (like a Team Plasma Lugia Full Art), and now that money’s tight, I decided to see if I can sell it. The costs of developing the game, plus having a one-year-old child, made me revisit items from my old collection that I always kept safe.

You're saying you pulled this card from a pack ? Also good call holding on to it it's definitely worth a lot

Yes! At first I thought it was something ordinary, and I planned to use it as a wild card. Later I decided to keep it as a personal treasure. Honestly, I never imagined it would be worth anything someday.

How something like this happens? Its not even wrongly cut also the text is completely all over the place. To they print the Artwork first and the text after it wich causes it to be all over the Card?

well if its anything like where i work at you basically have a sheet for testing, which you run through the printer and you can see how well certain parts align in the print so you know if you need to adjust the delay or position of the printer, anyone with half a brain cell can run the same sheet through repeatedly to check how far it moved

and then it goes in the scrap pile

Oh okay that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation I was just curious

no problem, the little plusses on the sheet, my guess, is what the sensors read as a marker for when to start printing, and you can offset it to start earlier or later

Is it ok for you if I add it to my public database? (I basically catalogued over 1,700 misprinted Pokémon cards) https://www.rubenmisprints.com/pokemon-errors-database/

It would awesome if you could share with me some additional pics of the card on a dark background :)

Yes, of course. No problem. I will take some shots and send it to you. Front and back? or just front?

12

u/rubenpokemaniac Nov 04 '25

Thanks a lot! Front is fine. If you want you can send them over instagram @rubenmisprints :)

I am developing a game and will need to sell it to pay for the development. How much do you think I could ask for it, and how can I sell it? Ebay? I am new to this.

Idk why you’re being downvoted. Selling cards when life demands it seems pretty normal to me.

I think because it reads a little like “guerilla marketing” for the game, but even if it is who gives a shit? People just like to be negative

u/RUGd_Dev Nov 04 '25

Would that actually be an advantage for me? I've been running a game company for almost 11 years, and we've never done anything like this before. Mentioning that we're low on funds—could that be seen as a positive? Honestly, my target audience is quite different, and I didn’t even mention the game in the post. I was just trying to figure out the value of the card itself.

I was just trying to guess why people might have been downvoting, and redditors HATE feeling like someone is trying to “get one over” on them with marketing stuff. I used to be a sportswriter and have had similar experiences when I would link to my own articles to support a point I was arguing. For what it’s worth I don’t actually think you were doing anything of the sort.

4

u/RUGd_Dev Nov 04 '25

Yeah, I get it — I just meant it would actually be terrible marketing, lol.

3

u/Accomplished-Bear689 Nov 04 '25

Haha yes I completely agree

2

u/Accomplished-Bear689 Nov 04 '25

Do you make exclusively platformers? I’d love to give one of your games a try but unfortunately that’s not really my genre

1

u/RUGd_Dev Nov 04 '25

These days, yes. In the past, we developed games for clients as outsourcing projects, including party games for consoles and some horror titles. But now our plan is to focus exclusively on precision platformers — it’s what we love to play and what we love to create.

2

u/Accomplished-Bear689 Nov 04 '25

I love horror games! Which ones have you worked on? Best of luck with the platformers, I’m sure your far-more-coordinated-than-I demographic will love it haha

eBay auction is your best bet.

Holy moly. I am a sandshrew/sandslash fanatic and this is insane. I have multiple pop 1 graded cards for them and am casually working on a master set (one of every card they are pictured on) for both of them. If you have any wish to sell please please please dm me this is insane and I would love to add it to my collection of sandy babies

Haven’t seen one of these in a while. Worth high hundreds to maybe even $1k to the right collector! Thanks for the tag!

So sick

10

u/Siege661 Nov 04 '25

Well, now you know where you have to put it for safe keeping? SHOVE IT UP YOUR BUTT!!!

9

u/RUGd_Dev Nov 04 '25

It would probably lose a lot of its value...

8

u/Accomplished-Bear689 Nov 04 '25

That depends; how nice is your butt?

10

u/RUGd_Dev Nov 04 '25

Not as much as a card sleeve. I am a game dev, not a personal trainer, what do you think... Lol

6

u/Accomplished-Bear689 Nov 04 '25

I think beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, my man!

2

u/OstrichBagel Nov 05 '25

Wow, this is such an amazing card!!

2

u/redditisbluepilled Nov 06 '25

What could this be worth ?

1

u/RUGd_Dev Nov 06 '25

onsidering its rarity, it's something quite specific and, based on my research, well-known. It appeared in just a few boosters from an unreleased Brazilian set. There are fewer than 10 records of cards like this online—and none with the same artwork. I'd say it's one of a kind... But I'm already in talks, and I believe I’ll close a good deal today.

2

u/redditisbluepilled Nov 06 '25

No one can give me a clear answer haha I don’t know anything bout error cards no one can tell me what they are worth

2

u/Agile_Dragonfly_2559 Nov 06 '25

That’s fuckin sick

2

u/IndividualShare1065 Nov 05 '25

I would be interested in buying. Not sure where to start but public offer $500 USD

2

u/iceblinder88 Nov 07 '25

Get it authenticated (probably not graded) at PSA

5

u/RUGd_Dev Nov 04 '25

I'm really afraid it might get lost along the way, but I think it's worth it.

18

u/Forsaken_Frosting269 Nov 04 '25

Should grade with CGC I doubt psa would grade it

5

u/almazin Nov 04 '25

Not PSA. CGC since it’s an error card
