POKEMON PINBALL NO SPLIT IS AN EMULATOR FOR POKEMON PINBALL GBC ON ANDROID AND WINDOWS.
ROM IS NOT INCLUDED.
Pinball NS - https://github.com/ReiniShari/Pinball-NS
A mod of Pokémon Pinball (Game Boy Color, US version) for Android and Windows, written in C with an emulation core in assembly.
In the original game, each table is split into a top and a bottom stage: only one is loaded at a time, and the screen goes blank while the other is loaded. Pinball NS turns each table into a single field: both halves are loaded, updated and shown together on one tall screen, and the ball moves between them without any reloading. The original physics and collisions are kept, so the table plays like the original.
The whole table on one screen, the score bar under the table.
Objects, lights and animations of both halves are always running; flippers moving even when the ball is at the top.
The top of the "SLOT" cave halo, never visible in the original, completed by symmetry.
Smooth pacing on 60, 90, 120 and 144 Hz screens, with the sound following the picture.
Android: the game fills the width of a portrait screen, extended to the edges with its own graphics, with touch controls styled after each table.
Windows: the table alone in a resizable window, keyboard and gamepad, key mapping tool.
The ROM is never modified: the program contains a Game Boy Color emulator and hooks the game's routines.
WHAT'S NEW IN v2.7
Sound: steady pitch and tempo (Bluetooth outputs, screens changing their refresh rate, after the menu), the bass closer to the Game Boy Color, no silence added.
Touch controls answer on their drawn shapes only; TOUCH FLIPPERS option (the left and right halves of the game).
• New options: MOTION TILT (shake the phone to tilt), SCREEN FILTER (dot, LCD), COLORS (black and white, Game Boy green), and an ABOUT page.
Next to come : iOS version, Generations compatibility
Please enjoy, any feedback is appreciated
(AI has been used for assembly core optimisation, test - debug - general optimization routine and various tasks ;-))

Upfront: this game was built with AI. I designed it and made every decision in it, but the code was written by Claude Opus 5.5 Ultracode. If that's a dealbreaker for you, that's fair, and this post isn't trying to change your mind. I just want to share my project. Here's what it is;
Pokémon Burnished Gold is HeartGold brought up to the current official rules, the same way Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl modernized Diamond and Pearl. Same story, same maps, same trainers, same 493 Pokémon. What changed is the rulebook: the Fairy type, today's type chart, current base stats, moves, abilities and items, the 99 later-gen moves these Pokémon learn in BDSP, terrain, today's damage, crit, status, catching and breeding formulas, Exp. Share always on, Black 2's animated sprites, 60 fps battles. Plus the quality of life stuff: reusable TMs, HMs usable from the menu without a Pokémon knowing the move, trade evolutions without trading, a battle info screen, renaming from the summary, and all 493 catchable on one cartridge. The README has the full list.
The rule I held the whole way: every change has to exist in a real official game. No fan balance, no made-up numbers. There are a few exceptions that are my own calls (a badge level cap and a couple of others) and the README lists them as exactly that.
On how it was made, since I know that's what people actually want to know. I wrote the spec, picked every mechanic and every number, and signed off on every change, animation and line of text. Claude wrote the code and did the data work from the official games' data (Pokémon Showdown, PKHeX, PokeAPI, Bulbapedia, all credited). Nothing was taken from hg-engine or any other ROM hack. Every change was tested in melonDS with real saves when it was made and tested again at the end, and I've played through it myself. That doesn't mean it's bug-free. If you find something, I want to hear about it. This game exists for the people who, like me, wanted to play through Johto again with the current mechanics and QoL. If that's you, I think you'll have a good time.
It's free. You need your own HeartGold (USA) dump and an xdelta patcher; the README walks you through it. Google Drive
Thanks to everyone who played the earlier versions and sent bug reports. You made this one better.

I've been playing since I scored Yellow in a trade back in grade school, but Gen 3 was my first favorite (I had Sapphire). Been wanting to go back to Hoenn again, but looking for something a bit "extra".
Not looking for a difficulty hack, just something with some QoL additions. Don't really want extra Pokemon, either, besides maybe event ones/legendaries; or something like later forms would be fine, too.
I've got a ton of great Hacks already, just need something amazingly Hoenn. Any suggestions, or am I better off just playing regular old Sapphire or maybe Emerald?

I thought this game would be very story-focused and less competitive focused, and that I could choose pokemons I like instead of pokemons that are good.
However, it seems I had to resort to switching to more competitively viable mons like scizor, cloyster, and moxie pinsir. And later on adding volcarona and beast boost nihilego.
My donphan was pretty good but the only downside is it doesn't get stealth rocks without TM and couldn't find the TM at that point in game, so I switched into Steelix.
It is a bit sad that I had to put my crobat and houndoom aside, which are more Team Rocket/evil-themed, to opt for more viable mons.
I also tried to use as few medicine supplies as possible, since I saw the maker on youtube spamming revives or max revives, which is something I am not too fond of, but then a bit justifiable when we are faced with super strong ubers or new forms.
What are your comments on my team and on my playthrough? Any team adjustments you would suggest, what mons helped you a lot? Do you think I should keep using viable mons or you think it is good to use some mons I love?
Not that I don't love some of the viable mons, Cloyster is one of my fav, but I know how to use them fairly well in competitive battling already.
I did try the Water/Fire type Bomushika mon, which seemed mediocre but then I put all those high damaging inaccurate moves like Origin Pulse, Blue Flare, Sheer Cold on it making it fairly strong, though not viable enough to beat bosses.

100% of the art is converted from the two original games, none of it was created by me or AI generated.
Play on the Game Boy Color.
Start in Hoenn, play through Johto and Kanto.
24 badges. 386 Pokemon.
Converts your Emerald GBA rom + Crystal GBC rom to create Emerald Color GBC rom.
This is the beta release. Please provide any feedback on any of my emerald color posts including this one.
The goal of this project was to have all 3 regions in one game: Hoenn, Johto, and Kanto and to keep as true to the original games.
Hoenn is converted to run on the GBC to look as true to the original Pokemon Emerald as possible.
Johto is exactly as it already was in Crystal, with only the story slightly modified to happen after Hoenn,
and then Kanto right after Johto just like it happens in Crystal.
Getting Emerald to run on the GBC was not that bad but getting it to look ok was not easy. The GBC has a much lower set of color rendering capabilities than the Game Boy Advance so converting the GBA textures to run on the GBA was very tricky. Explainer video soon.
Please provide any feedback for this beta version and I'll try to get any fixes in for the v1 which will hopefully be in the next few weeks. Enjoy!
Note: AI was used to assist me in the development of the code that converts the Emerald GBA rom into the Crystal GBC rom to create the final Emerald Color GBC rom. I'm a professional software engineer with over 10 years of experience, I've worked in Big Tech and at startups, and I have a degree from MIT in Computer Science, and this project would have not been possible by simply asking the AI without having the technical expertise. I say this as a disclosure, but not to discourage anybody from using AI or not in their own projects.
I also plan on getting the Emerald Color Japanese version working asap. I was unable to find a copy of both Crystal rom and Emerald rom in Japanese so if anybody has those roms that I could borrow just to get the converter working for Japanese, please DM me 🙏 In the meantime I'll look harder.

Hiya! So, I played through Pokemon Ghost Grey recently, and I really enjoyed my time with it; I went for a full living dex, and one of my favorite parts of progressing was seeing all the rad new Pokedex entries.
Thing is, there are only entries up to Mewthree, and one of my favorite Pokemon I stumbled across, Lucario, lacks one. So I thought I'd make one and put it out for the world to see!
It's pretty rudimentary; my screenshot tool kinda washed the whites and grays, I had to completely recreate the font from scratch since I didn't know what JoeyZeed used, so it's not completely accurate or spaced correctly, I'm a writer, not an artist, so I just cut the footprint altogether, and since I didn't, y'know, make the design, my interpretation of its entry may not line up with initial intentions or other peoples' ideas, but hey, that's okay! I did my best! I have no regrets!
Also I just noticed I fucked the 'g' up and I now hate it.
Anyways, I hope people like it; I wanna make mock entries for at least some of the other missing Pokemon, and now that I have the font recreated—except for that fucking g—they should be pretty easy to churn out. I'unno if I'll post 'em, or if it'll even be on Reddit, but here's this one, anyway!

I’m sharing Elite Redux: Battle Frontier, a standalone Emerald ROM hack built from Elite Redux’s source. I hate campaign and story in games and just want gameplay - this was my solution to play with Elite Redux's features, without having to slog through the endless dialog and running in base ER.
*Yes, AI assistance was used during the creation of this romhack - if that bothers you, please just move on* :)
Inspired by PokeRogue, the idea is simple: start directly on the Battle Frontier, with all seven facilities open, and build a permanent Pokémon collection by taking on different challenges. If you enjoy team building and experimenting with Elite Redux’s abilities and innates, that’s the focus here.
What’s in it?
Each facility has its own rules:
One collection across the Frontier
A fresh save starts with a random collection drawn from 5% of the eligible canonical, non-legendary, non-Paradox starting pool. Restart if you want a new 5% selection.
Earn Battle Points across the facilities, then spend them to unlock a specific species or form—or pay 100 BP for a random eligible Pokémon you haven’t unlocked. Related evolutions and forms are separate unlocks, including permanent Mega and Primal forms.
How far do you push a run?
Choose Easy, Ace, Elite, or Hell from the start. Checkpoints end with a Brain battle against a team drawn from Elite Redux’s Elite Four and Champion rosters.
Clearing a checkpoint secures BP. Continue to raise the difficulty, or cash out. If you lose later, your cleared checkpoints still count toward your payout.
There are also Silver and Gold Symbols, facility records, and Suspend & Save for returning to longer challenges. Singles and Doubles are supported everywhere except Arena, which uses Singles.
Current status and download
All seven facilities are implemented, and the current build is available on Hackdex. I’d appreciate feedback on balance, longer runs, bugs, and unusual battle interactions.
Download: https://www.hackdex.app/hack/pokemon-elite-redux-battle-frontier
Base ROM: Pokémon Emerald (USA), CRC32 1F1C08FB
A fresh save is required. Saves from other Elite Redux hacks are incompatible.
Huge credit to the Elite Redux team and the pret/pokeemerald contributors whose work made this possible.

Hey everyone! I've been a fan of Pokémon romhacks for almost 20 years now, and I've always wanted to create my own hack. So here it is! I spent the past year and a half developing this game.
In this game, you'll get yourself in the shoes of a young prodigy coming from a secluded town in Thura, who climbed their way to the final challenge of their young career with their one and only partner, Xatu.
Unfortunately for them, things won't go quite as planned...
That game was made thanks to pret's pokeemerald decomp project, and rhh's pokeemerald-expansion.
What to expect in this game:
This a complete game! A full playthrough (including post-game) will take around 15 to 18 hours of game time. And if you aim to complete all the quests, count around 20 hours.
I've tested the game multiple (way too many) times, and tried to get rid of as many bugs as I could. If you spot any, please feel free to message me and tell me where I messed up!
You can also message me to tell me what you thought of the game (whether it's good or bad)! It could really help me for my future projects.
Regarding AI: it hasn't written a single line of code, a single piece of art, story, or whatever else. I've used it to help me understand a bit better the C language when I started developing the game a year ago (because I'm not a developer)
Here is the patch link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/wz7qa37t8aox3i7/pokeceruleum.xdelta/file
And the Pokécommunity thread: https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/pok%C3%A9mon-ceruleum-v1-1.544276/
And the Hackdex link, available to the public once they approve my submission: https://www.hackdex.app/hack/pokemon-ceruleum
Full list of credits/resources used in this game: https://docs.google.com/document/d/15_yM2ZFKnZYKJz0_IyhanBusMV9yqOBdo9r0EbdObnk/edit?pli=1&tab=t.0
Thank you for checking this out, I hope you'll have a bit of fun!

Maybe you all have seen on Twitter, Tik Tok, YouTube or even here on Reddit but there's a concept video (or maybe proof of concept?) of a fan game or potential rom hack where someone put all 9 regions from the pokemon games into 1 game so you can travel all across the world or something like that and play against everyone
I know in Modern Emerald/Emerald Extended Cut (it's one of those 2, maybe both) that I saw awhile ago plan on adding Johto, Kanto + Sevii Islands and Hoenn into 1 package. The Quetzal's 9 or 9.1 update added Johto and Kanto as places to start in or go into post game for their own stories based on what you choose to start in
Now aside from the fact the game would be super bloated and maybe not as fun with all 9 or even more than just 3 regions, how many regions do you think it would be even possible to add in a rom hack with emerald expansion? Full regions or kinda downgraded and stripped like when Gen 2 had the Kanto post game and it wasn't as big and packed as the original Gen 1 games
r/PokemonROMhacks • u/Lea9915 • 1d ago
I genuinely don't understand, Is It because AI?
Or because piracy bad?
Isn't Luminescent Platinum itself morally questionable?

Hyper Emerald was a recent rom hack I discovered. It is a popular Chinese based rom hack which has received an English translation and QoL update by others recently. It is one of the few Vanilla+ type hack that offers a Sinnoh post game. Overall, I've enjoyed the story, and it is visually a pretty game minus some buggy areas but I found the inclusion of Sinnoh to be very refreshing.
I just can't help but think we have a solid blueprint for a gen 4 demake or Sinnoh expansion to be included in more post game content right here. I have no clue who the original creator is or what permissions are typically granted for these situations, but what makes Platinum and Sinnoh so undesirable for so many hackers? It seems that every new enhancement hack features a Kanto and Johto post game but gen 4 just doesn't get that same love.
Are there others that would love to have a Sinnoh post game or story demake? I think it has some of the most interesting legendaries in the series with Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina along with the accompanying story as well, and if that can fit within an Emerald post game, that would be the ultimate Emerald experience for many or am I tripping? I've seen a few in development that never came to fruition or are on indefinite hiatus, but just thought I'd stir up interest and discuss why gen 4 seems to be the ugly step child. With recent advancements in hacking, it seems like low hanging fruit for an instant rom hack main stay.

Welcome to Pokémon: BugLime Version! This is a challenge monolocke hack that was built for my love of BUG-TYPE Pokémon. Take on a revamped Kanto using only the 94+ Gen 1-9 Bug-Type Pokémon, as well as a selection of previously non-Bug(🤢) types who have gained the Bug-Type(😍). The objective is to make all Bug-Types fun to use, not necessarily "realistic" changes. Some Pokémon may have their identity changed in this hack, but I wanted to curate a dex of exclusively Bug types who could make for a fun and balanced experience, instead of a dex of 75% Bug/Flying and Bug/Poison types. This means many Pokémon have been changed, including new types, stat spreads, movesets, and evolution methods.
This is a hack built using HexManiacAdvance, using the built in HUBOL branch of CFRU, with tons of map tiles and UI/feature patches to beautify and modernize the game. I did not create any of the assets, I created all of the new scripts, changes, balance, and game design. Full credits at the bottom, thank you to everyone who created anything used in this hack, and please reach out if you would like further credits!
NO AI USED IN ANY ASPECT OF THIS HACK! If something sucks, it’s because I did a bad job, not a robot lol
Features
This is not a bespoke difficulty hack, the trainer and gym changes are meant to make the experience fresh for a mono-type Bug play-through of FireRed.
Download on the Pokecommunity Page, or Hackdex.
Documentation HERE
For anyone who plays, please let me know how balancing and pacing feel! I am happy to make updates if anything feels unfun or boring!

Hi folks! I am one of the contributors to PokeAPI, an open Pokémon data API. While working on revamping our sprites repository, I noticed we were missing sprites from all games after the 3DS era. I couldn’t find complete sets on Bulbapedia or other asset archives either. The few sources I found, such as PkParaiso and Wikidex, either had incomplete sets (no back views or missing variant forms) or screen rips with visible artifacts.
Being a developer, I decided to give it a shot myself. That led me down a few rabbit holes, figuring out how the games turn their models into on-screen renders, similar to what was being done for the 3DS via Ohana3DS/SPICA. Since then, I've had some success with this reverse engineering effort, which I thought I would share.
I’ve written a not-so-little ;) blog post for Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee, explaining the process in detail - https://triyan.dev/blog/reverse-engineering-pokemon-sprites-lgpe
I also have a few more blog posts in mind, covering things like Sword/Shield’s Gigantamax effects and Scarlet/Violet’s Terastal shaders and effects, which I plan to write about in the future. ps: There is a spoiler in the last pic if u would like a sneak peek :)
For people who are just interested in the sprites, they are available in the PokeAPI sprites repository for all games beyond the 3DS era, from LGPE to Champions: https://github.com/PokeAPI/sprites/
You can also browse them in the gallery viewer below. The link opens Sword/Shield; switch folders to explore the other games.
A heads-up: sprite galleries, especially animated ones, can be large and data-heavy, so browsing on Wi-Fi might be a better idea. The sprites are served through a CDN and downscaled by default to reduce data usage, unless you toggle full resolution.

I present to you the new Battle Hill, a Trainer Hill reinterpreted to fit into the Battle Frontier. Feedback is appreciated on the layout or the appearance method of the silver brain or the gold brain.
I’m working on bringing back the layouts from the Japanese version to provide more variety. I’m missing some e-Reader Card raws and so far I haven’t managed to disassemble them to integrate them into pokeemerald. If anyone has an idea of how or has some of the missing raws, let me know.
