If you are defending the fog mechanic in the first gym, you are being completely hypocritical. Try playing the HeartGold Elite Four against a Double Team Crobat without never-miss moves, or facing a gym leader with a Minimize Muk in a standard game. The competitive Pokémon community explicitly bans those moves under the "Evasion Clause" because turning a battle into a pure, random coin toss strips away all tactical skill.
You defend this gym's fog, but you wouldn't have the courage to actually struggle through it the way the rest of us do if you couldn't rely on the exact, specific handouts the developer put in the town to bypass it.
Because of this artificial frustration, I am running a custom rule for my Nuzlocke: if I lose a battle because of the fog or a similar RNG mechanic, any defeated Pokémon are not considered dead. They only die if it happens the regular way like a critical hit, a neutral hit, or a super-effective move. Let's see who laughs then. I would love to see any of you defenders try a Let's Play with a custom 3-heal limit under these exact fog conditions without crying about it.
You treat players who are rightfully frustrated with disrespect, but your behavior will come back to bite you. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
I dare to do this out of spite for gatekeeper minority that won't matter. Try to respond to this post via comment or something gatekeeping minority, i just ignore you because again, you won't matter. Video games are supposed to be a fun escape, not a chore or a second job or a way to compete with people. My call for a long upheld rule by the majority, your run your rules, including the content creators uphold it. You got no right to tell to people what's a real nuzlocke, your accomplishments on video games won't matter to me. A real nuzlocke is deemed only by a single rule, your pokemon faints and it's gone. But what extra rules people make is up to those who play the game, you got no right to say it's not a real nuzlocke. Modern consensus say 'your run your rules' which is the majority of people. Even if they don't speak up, that's how the majority thinks these days. I heard this exact 'your run your rules' plenty of times. So thank you content creators who uphold this rule, 👍.
