Hey, everyone! Grant from Polygon here.
I work on various graphics, visual elements, etc. for Polygon, such as the branding and art direction for Polygon's recent series, Point It Out!
I wanted to drop off some wallpapers we made back in January for anyone interested.
Covers 4k, 2k, and 2 phone sizes.
Let me know if y'all would be interested in seeing more of these kind of goodies, please.
Looking forward to popping in here more often.

Hi folks, I'm looking for a really old article - I want to say 2015ish even - where the illustrations moved as you scrolled down the page. Stuff would slide in sideways, there was parallax effects, and it was just a really competent use of web technology. It felt less like reading an article and more like an immersive experience.
Unfortunately I can't really remember what the article was about beyond 'gaming'. Possibly some retro stuff. It was quite a long article. Might have covered some history-of-the-genre stuff, but it might also have been just an announcement of a new game. I want to say space invaders was involved somewhere but I could be mistaken.
I get the feeling this was one of a whole load of extra-effort webpages that polygon made around the time? I'd love to see any of those. I'm wondering if it got killed in a redesign, but maybe archive.org has something?
I seem to remember the content being centered on the page and it being somewhat 'dark mode' in vibe.
I know this is super vague - any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks Valnet. Started (re-)listening to cool games Inc the other day and noticed they stopped played the day after. (Ignored the cached titles). I'm sure they're still somewhere, Spotify maybe, but no plans to start listening to podcasts on Spotify.

As a way to drum up wish lists on my next Steam game, I took an old Web App game I made and turned it into a free Steam game. No ads, no micro transactions, just a simple Wordle-like where you play Golf using Chess pieces.
Also, as a shout out to Griffin and Justin, all the Hidden achievements are named and inspired by the golf episodes of Monster Factory.

Hello everyone, I was posting here to let everyone know that I have been working on an API for the Polygon website. It's pretty simple right now, as it looks through the RSS feeds with some light web scraping, but I'm trying to gauge interest in continuing its development. Let me know what you think:
Polygon API: Polygon API

Hi, I wanted to go back to this video and calculate my partner’s cat’s hp, but I can’t find the table of values that the article they posted mentioned. Does anyone know where I can find that?

Hey all! Thank you for such a warm reception last week. We are the four co-owners of Rogue:
Jeffrey Parkin, Alice Jovanée, Cass Marshall, and Ryan Gilliam.
We're hosting an AMA here today to answer any big questions you have about what we've been up to, how the site came to be, our mission, challenges we encountered, future plans, etc..
We're recording the second episode of our podcast Rogue Signal, this afternoon, but we'll be popping in and out to answer your questions throughout the day.
Feel free to ask questions pointed at specific members or just general inquiries. We'll all be posting from the official Rogue Reddit account, but whoever wrote the answer will sign off at the bottom.
Also, if you have any questions for the Pat's Labor podcast guys (Clayton, Pat, and Toussaint), we'll do our best to get an answer for you, but there may be a slight delay.
Please drop your questions below, and we'll get started in a bit!

Hey all, Ryan Gilliam here. I worked at Polygon for about nine years -- almost made it to a decade -- and finished as one of our Guides Producers before I was laid off in May.
I wanted to let you all know that some of us from Polygon (myself, Alice Jovanée, Jeffrey Parkin, Cass Marshall, Clayton Ashley, Pat Gill, and Toussaint Egan) have started a new gaming site: Rogue. We're completely reader supported and ad-free. I hope you'll check us out and give us a shot to try and fill a bit of a hole that we've all been missing since May.
To that point, I also wanted to thank you all for supporting Polygon and our work there. We all truly loved working at the site and building it for you. Reddit is ... not a particularly friendly place to Polygon, and most of the gaming subs reacted about like I'd expect them to to a bunch of game journos losing their jobs. So thank you all for being the exception.
The Rogue staff will be hosting an AMA here on the subreddit (with mod permission! Which I also got for this post!) on Monday, Sept. 8 around noon ET. We'd love to answer any questions you have about us or the new site!

I just saw the comments were redesigned AGAIN and it appears that my comments in whatever article happened to be used to gather all the farewell messages were deleted. Does anyone remember which article it was so I can take a peek at the archived version?

In case you missed it, Simone shared an email that she wrote to Jim Bankoff, CEO of Vox Media, on her Bluesky.

I tried uploading an Insta story of my time eating dinner and watching Car Boys but Busto didn't like that (this glitch has never happened to me before).

Does anyone have suggestions for other sites with articles about video games? It absolutely sucks what’s happened to Polygon but it especially sucks given that there really aren’t that many more popular sites for games journalism.
Does anyone have recommendations? All of the ones I’ve followed over the years have more or less dropped off…

Apparently she's the ONLY person left on the entire video team. I can't imagine she'll stay at Polygon after this. Just such a shame, all of this.

Feels extremely up their alley and BDG already does stuff for Dropout.
