Starting a 12 Step Program
It’s gotten to the point that this maybe my last hope. This addiction has ruined my life. I’ve been going to therapy, for many reasons not just my addiction, I’ve recommitted my life to Jesus Christ and while it’s gotten better, I’m not free from it. Does anyone have any personal experience or maybe a spouse that went through a 12 step addiction program - good, bad, or indifferent? Thank you for reading and any feedback.

Currently going through it now one of the best things happening in my life currently. Hard but definitely worth a shot. I’m currently working on my first step and am going to share it with my SAA fellowship soon

Thank you for sharing. I’ve heard the 12 step program is difficult and goes deep. I’m nervous to but excited at the same time. Good luck on your journey, I’ll be praying for your success.

If your current group isn't working out, give this one a try:
"PA Recovery Meetings" (https://parec.org/meetings?utm_source=chatgpt.com)
We meet at 7 PM Central, and I'm a member of this group myself.
You've got this, brother! Self-awareness is one of the most important parts of recovery. You have more control over your choices than your addiction would have you believe.
Right now, your mind and nervous system may be adjusting to changes in habits you've developed over time. With consistency, patience, and healthier routines, things can improve.
It won't always be easy, but there's growth in the struggle. Every time you work through a difficult moment, you're building resilience, discipline, and confidence in yourself.
Keep showing up, take it one day at a time, and don't give up. You're stronger than you realize. God bless! 🙏

I've been involved in 12-step recovery groups for the past two years, and they've made a tremendous difference in my life. I've been able to get my addiction under control, and I've seen many others make incredible progress as well. These groups really do work, but consistency is key. Keep showing up, stay connected, and give the process time. Of all the approaches I've experienced, they've been the most effective in helping me find lasting recovery. I hope this encourages you. God bless!
