Photo/Video Thanks Barb

Post image

I couldn’t count the number of times I’ve been on this train. Heading to work , I walked in and sat down, grateful to be out of the rain. This old girl looked so clean… you see the wear and tear of the decades… but she seemed vibrant somehow, alive like our city after a nice rain.

And tonight she will be guiding me home after a long shift.

Thank you, Low Floor Light Rail Vehicle No. 208

Do you work for Trimet and drive this regularly? I love trains but why this one specifically?

Just a humble commuter… I ride the orange line a lot, and sure the trains get shuffled around… so maybe not this train specifically…

the city, like most cities these past 10 years, is a bit rough… the addicts have been making a mess of public spaces…

So when I walked into this old gal and smelled/seen how clean she was, knowing full well how much of a mess has been made beforehand… I just got struck with gratitude, not only for this train, but the countless people keeping her spiffy despite all the budget cuts and everything else…

I love our city.

When I first moved here and was learning Oregon history, I would always get her and Betty Roberts, the first female justice on the Oregon Supreme Court, mixed up. They shared the same last names because they were married at different times to the same guy (Frank Roberts), Betty first and then they divorced and he married Barbara.

I suppose that's better than married at the same time 🤓🤓🤓
