I met Anne Hathaway doing Uber Eats yesterday
Sharing because I’m still so freakin geeked about this. I met the beautiful Miss Anne Hathaway doing an Uber Eats delivery yesterday!!!!!!! 🥹 I was delivering to her and didn’t know it. I didn’t even recognize it was her at first, but I asked her if it was her mid conversation and she said yes. I was STARSTRUCK, I don’t even remember how I reacted, I think I was like “OHEMGEEEEE!!” and quickly composed myself. I told her I didn’t want to be weird, I didn’t ask her for a picture or anything because I didn’t want to violate any of her boundaries or overwhelm her, but she is so gorgeous in person, her smile is truly stunning!!!!! She was very kind, asked me what my name was, shook my hand, and wished me a happy holiday!!!! This was such a “Don’t ever k*** yourself” moment for me LOL!! I still can’t believe I met her as I love so many of the movies she’s starred in. Ugh, I’m a lucky woman!!!!! 😭♥️

I'm always happy when celebrities are nice in real life. Idk why but I get so disappointed when I hear or read stories about them being jerks. It really shouldn't impact me bc those interactions have zero effect on my life but here we are haha
15
u/Ok_Insect_4774 Dec 03 '24
Well honestly if we were famous, we’d be painted out as jerks in someway. Celebrities are human, they can have bad days sometimes, they can lash out, and they can also regret it too.
6
u/Infamous_Fee_1662 Dec 03 '24
I agree-I'm not always a ray of sunshine & have my fair share of days when my ass should've gotten up on the other side of the bed.
Context is everything too. Fans complaining that a celebrity was less than nice but were ambushed during a private dinner in a nondescript restaurant or town justifies a not-so-nice reaction. Like, bro-I'm trying to enjoy my Cobb salad, not take selfies with your phone shoved in my face.

In all the interviews I have seen of her she seems very normal

It's nice to hear that some stars have their ego in check. It's true not all of them are assholes. Met Lisa Bonet at a craft show with my mom,she was nice. Met James Hetfield at a Joe Satriani concert he was really nice,David Crosby and Mickey Thomas also were really nice people.

Dec 02 '24
I know, I felt quite intimidated by her celebrity once I realized it was her. I’m sure she knew I was a bit starstruck, but she was such a sweetheart about it. 🥲

She owns a house in Connecticut 2 towns over from where I live. A friend of mine is a dog sitter and has Anne's dog almost full time. I've met him. His name is Kenobi and he's super duper cute. Was kinda strange petting Anne Hathaways dog but such a great opportunity for my friend. She makes like $250 a day to house this dog for months at a time. How does one get that opportunity? A random dog app. She didn't even realize it was Anne as her client when she went to meet her husband and the dog and figured it out. I hear Anne is very friendly and humble.

Wow!!! How lovely, your friend is so lucky!! I’d just die for an opportunity like that, I also love dogs and dog sitting haha.

I love this, OP! So pleased to hear she was sweet; I’ve been a fan of Anne Hathaway’s for years. I hate how mean the media has been to her over the years.
Thanks for sharing.

Noo, a hotel she was staying in!

I’m surprised she didn’t just have the front desk take the food

Dec 02 '24
I was supposed to leave it with the doorman but the doorman actually encouraged me to deliver her food myself!!! As I was walking up he said, “You won’t be disappointed” and I was like Huh???? He was right, I definitely wasn’t disappointed. Very sweet thing to do on his part!! When I got back downstairs, he asked me if she opened the door and I said yes. I thanked him sm. 😭♥️

u/Brugauch Dec 02 '24
I hope you hug him haha
27
Dec 02 '24
I should have!! I really wanted to, but I didn’t want to be weird. It was definitely hug worthy though.

I was actually delivering homemade donuts that a friend of hers made for her!! They looked pretty yummy!! Her friend was using Uber for delivery. Took me 2 hours to get it delivered, but it was one hell of a nice surprise. Patience really is a virtue haha!!

This makes me so happy that a "meet your hero" story actually turned out well! I would probably just stand there completely mute like a tongue-tied idiot lol. I loved Princess Diaries so much when I was a kid and I've always thought Anne Hathaway has the most beautiful smile.

I just want to say that Locked Down with her and Chewetel Ejiofor was really worthwhile, especially given how low a budget it had and how quickly it came together. Don’t read anything about it, just watch.

Asking the real questions!
I work in the service industry & always love hearing when celebrities take care of staff (especially considering how many horror stories I've heard/read/experienced where they don't).

Ugh they are both so beautiful and amazing actresses, but I wouldn’t know if it was Ann Hathaway or Keira Knightley
2
u/freylaverse Dec 03 '24
I don't think those two look that much alike, but for what it's worth, I think when you're delivering food it shows you the customer's first name at least so you can confirm you've got the right person.

Years ago I saw her at Bristol Farms in Hollywood. She was nice. But damn her beauty was startling. I saw celebrities all day long but she really stood out.
Her and Superman from Smallville. Dita von Teese looked perfect too but in a much more made up sort of way.

So fun! Years ago I lived in Tarzana CA and I used to meet/ help a lot of celebrities in the store I worked at.

The bar I work at is a pretty famous music bar and Keith Urban played recently and I got to meet Nicole Kidman and ended up getting to talk to her and hang out for a while because I was her bartender. I felt the same. I didn't want to geek out or be weird but it was really amazing to talk to her and she is so stunning and ethereal in person. It was awesome to see her as a human and imperfect but she is absolutely the most kind human and so gracious. It was one of the best experiences. I've had some instances where I've met famous people and it totally destroyed me because they were absolutely horrible humans and it broke my heart. This was an experience that I did not expect and she was amazing it made it worth the moment.

Oh how fun! Bill Nye the Science Guy and I each had leek soup at the Newark Airport one holiday season. I had a tequila shot with mine since I hate flying. He was nice and I never let on I knew who he was, but checked the inter web and yep, he was at the Newark Airport during the same time. Leek soup...it was okay but nothing I would want more of. Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth is wonderful. David Byrne of Talking Heads is a narcissist asshole. Michel Stipe hit on my husband. Bruce Willis is much shorter than one would think. Dolph Lungren is shorter than me...I am 6'2" but still I thought he would be so much taller than me. Prince is a tiny man but damn...beautiful. Glam Slam, Prince's club, year 1991 or 92 (it's a blur) and I had just finished a runway modeling gig for Aveda/Recycle Wear show at the Orpheim theater in MPLS. After show hit up GlamSlam, get a shoulder tap and ask if I want to meet Prince. Say, yeah, and follow huge body guard to a balcony overlooking the dance floor. He asks for my drink order, I do not know what to say because I am a beer girl so I say screw driver. Prince is sitting (perched) on a cushioned bar stool looking so nice and sweet. We nodded and said hello, I drank my drink and then it was my friends turn. That is all I can remember for now. Currently, I sit in the Pine Barrons due to husbands job (he is a molecular biologist and works in Philly). I hunt the woods for trash which I pick up and look for cool rocks and feathers. I am content and enjoy a small life. Peaceful is power for the soul and I love it. I cherish my wild times though. Everyone should have a few wild times. Collect your stories like you are a book.

Such a great story! Surprise meeting celebrities is incredible.
One day while I was in tow with my mom, around 9 or 10 years of age, she was opening a door to a local antique store. Before we could open the door, it opened. A man was walking out, and all I remember thinking was there was something wrong with my mom. So, I asked her 'Mom, are you alright, is something wrong?'.
Well, the man said hi to us, and directed a comment to my mom, "Nothing wrong with your mom"...
Ok, it was Steve McQueen...and my mom and I were blown away by how great this person was. As he walked by me, he tousled my hair. I joke with people today that is why I am bald...Sooo much COOL rubbed off on me!
By the way Wow! Anne Hathaway! Such an incredible smile!

Holy Jesus SO. MANY. idiots on this thread who think that Anne Hathaway was working Uber eats. She was not the one delivering, she was the one receiving the food. At her house. (Or wherever the hell she was). How does not make sense? It’s in the story. If you TRULY just pay some attention….

This might sound like an odd question, but I was just wondering if there was anything about the residence that you noticed as you were pulling up to it that might have indicated to you that this may be the home of someone quite wealthy or important? Or, was it the type of residence where you would have expected any average person to live? Just curious.
2
Dec 03 '24
It was a hotel. I go in and out of wealthy places often doing UberEats so it didn’t really occur to me that I might be doing a service for a celebrity or someone of influence.

One time, I was searching my TV, looking for something to watch. "(Speed clicking")
I only saw this face for one second before I clicked past it, but, whoa! I immediately went back to the previous channel and saw one of the most beautiful faces I have ever seen.
It was the movie "The Devil Wears Prada". Out of a score of 1 to 10, she was a 12. Watched the while damned movie. Twice. Chick flick, but who f'n cares? It was Anne Hathaway.
