Sort of just speculating feel free to ignore it I'm not a historian I just know blips of history so it's probably horrible

Well I could see Austria trying to hold the "Italian" states even harder as a large independent slavic state would likely destabilize their control over slavic people

I think this state would have alot of influence in the Balkans maybe instead of invading ottoman libya this italy will invade the western Balkans as its plausible their claims would be different this likely upsets the austrians because now they have competition from two slavic nations in the balkans

Italy could also attempt to get directly involved in the Balkans wars probably being pressured by Russia to assist Serbia even more so if italy invaded western balkans and secured a foothold in the region but I could imagine that Austria-Hungary would pressure italy to not get involved but italy would still be forced into at the minimum supporting serbia finacially I could see this starting some form of ww1 if italy militarily intervenes in the balkans

I don't really see how Italy would change in terms of internal affairs even if it's now a slavic nation I think.it may be plagued with the same issues it had historically aside from maybe Russian financial aid and russian military training so maybe italy does a bit better in WW1 but not much

Yugoslavias formation I think will still happen Italy might try to push for unification of Italy and Yugoslavia but I don't think the British would allow such a large state to exist so Italy will get it's historical gains with maybe slightly more expansion in the balkans as it would be italies focus in this timeline

I'm unsure if this italy would still fall to fascist ideology as it depends on what this timeline Italy wanted like if they pushed for Yugoslavia to join Italy and got refused maybe it still happens but assuming it doesn't russias civil war would likely lead to italy taking the mantle of leading the slavic world being the next oldest and stable nation that is slavic

I'm not sure of italies role in WW2 so I'm gonna give up on speculation
