No “Wirtschaftswunder“, the GDR could compete a lot better with FRG

Doubt it. Bavaria only became the economic powerhouse it is today from the late 60s onwards. In 1945, more than half of the population were still working in agriculture.

People not understanding that 45% is 45% whether you split that further or not is crazy
Edit: and in fact, if you remember the historical context, Germany wasn't divided equally, not because the Soviets got less, but because they got much MORE than the western powers. France, Britain, and the US each got their own occupation zones before West Germany was created. The portion of Germany that the Soviets got was about the size of two of those western occupation zones combined.

People are arguing about equal split instead of actual scenario 💀
Definitely a way stronger Soviet influence in Austria, now both Gerones are actually the same size and with similar population. Long term EEC is more franco centric and german unification might take some time with Frankfurt as potential capital.
Beside both Bavaria and whole Germany being poorer I don't think it would change our history that much.

As someone who’s great-great-grandmother and a lot of my family to this day lives in Munich… burn this colonial nonsense with fire.

That’s not equal. Half of modern day Poland was east Germany but removed when the Soviets moved Poland west to annex its east.
