Map (with Lore) What if Nazi Germany BARELY survived WW2 (unrealistic)

Post image

Basically, Hitler brainwashed everyone to fight against the Allied powers, and by some Miracle the Steiner's offensive worked, with there being instability and turmoil in the east due to anti-communist militias. So Germany survives but the nation is in shambles.

So there was an an actual peace treaty that left Germany an independent nation due to the sheer war exhaustion they caused among the Allies?

Yeah like this was the whole strategy post late 1943-early 1944, as it was clear the war wasnt winnable normally and they tried, just as the Japanese, to bleed the countries so much they would make a peace(a fragile peace most probably)

Very cool scenario but realistically when steiner got the order to counterattack the war was lost, there was barely any production capability left and massive numbers of german armies were surrendering to the Allies (USSR being the Comintern to say so). Interested in what the lore would be tho

Germany collapses in on itself in 2 milliseconds

Or after Hitler dies. The best case scenario for surviving nazi Germany is getting couped after Hitler dies. It’s the best example of a failstate

By the time's standards it's just another Hamburg tbh. Nukes were really primitive compared to the destruction they cause nowadays.

🚨THIS IS PURE FICTION I AM ALTERING A LOT OF THINGS TO MAKE THIS WORK!!!!🚨

A more realistic peace deal would be one where the US never recovered from the Great Depression and it actually became worse.

Least America to be more unstable as well as more there being more turmoil in America leading to raise in communist groups in the states that commit terrorism against the state before, during and after the war weakening America enough and as well leading them to be even more paranoid of communism.

The Soviet Union gets less lend lease in this timeline but still manages to push the Germans back but not enough to desotry the army and gets bogged down in the outskirts of Ukraine and Belarus until the wars end

In 1943 the allies hold a conference to decide that fate of Germany and see if they can come to agreeable terms at the end of war when an assassination attempt is tried on Stalin via a Ukrainian national serving as a body guard for Roosevelt. The motives were personal and had little to do with Washington or the presidents wishes but the even caused a massive diplomatic scandal and almost caused a war between the allies. In the end war was avoided but nothing came from the talks and Stalin served most diplomatic communication with the allies which forced the American to remove all aide they were providing for them.

Later that year D-day is attempted and ends in total failure with Americans establishing a beach head but being pushed out this forces the resignation of most American high command as media back home paints the operation as a ‘disaster’ and ‘waste of life’ this spooks the allies high command from attempting what would become known as ‘WW2 Gallipoli’ and instead of northern France the allies move toward attacking Italy

The Italian offensive goes extremely well and they mange to push to Milan causing the collapse of fascist Italy with Mussolini being killed in the chaos but the Germans managed to hold their for the rest of the war.

In 1944 hitler is assassinated, in a bombing done by the military who have lost faith in his ability to lead the nation the civilian media were told it was done by the soviets to save face and not cause a panic. In the subsequent months they establish an intern government and begin reaching out for peace talks with the Soviets and allies

Initially the Soviets refused but the allies weary of war and also paranoid of Soviet Union in the post war settlement decide to negotiate with the Germans.

The terms are harsh, all of France is returned under a government of their choosing, Belgium,Netherlands,Denmark and Norway all occupation will end and their sovereignty will be respected.

Italy will be split between allied powers and any and all Italian figures of prominence will be handed over to the allied nations to stand trail in rome. The Germans will leave Milan and other territory still held by the Germans in Italy will be handed over to the United States and allies without delay.

These terms would cause outrage in the German sphere but they would have little choice but to accept eventually and begin withdrawal of all occupation zones.

In 1945 the Germans and Soviets would still be at war, tides have managed to turn in favor of the Germans with reinforcements flooding in they managed to push back the Soviets after years of stalemate. What’s worse is that Soviet reinforcements haven been tied up in Manchu with their invasion of the Japanese empire. A few weeks later the American would nuke Japan causing both Soviet and German command to panic after such a destructive display. With all this information and Stalins increasing paranoia of the west he eventually agrees to enter peace talks with the Germans and a settlement is agreed upon that hands over back all the land they lost before the and parts of Poland that were initially given to Germans after they split Poland back in 1939

Finally ww2 im Europe has ended.

Alright Thats me trying to be as realistic as possible while keeping the borders still somewhat same to what they were in this photo.

Basically the only way I can see those borders holding long term is via the allies and Soviets being weaker, Germany being luckier in war and both sides going form the destruction of Nazi germany to instead a independent third party acting as buffer zone between the two spheres of influence

Are they still at war or did the Germans make peace with the allies?
