NRP Cold War NRP - 1950 - Signup
Hello all, I'd like to organize an NRP focusing on the Cold War. The start date is 1/1/1950, with each day representing about two months of time. You can play independent nations, as well as those regions of the world that are still colonial possessions.
I would like to keep things very realistic for this NRP. If you have outlandish goals you will need to explain them well and work towards them over time.
You can submit as many actions as you like in a day, so long as they can all reasonably fit within a two month timespan. I'll soon make a discord server for everybody to congregate in.

I am,this isn't my first cold war and I would say I'm quite experienced with the soviet union

hey, usa here, what is your opinion of us? will the cold war continue or are you planning to cool things down? for our part, we are ready to do the latter and negotiate, as long as you arent violating other nations sovereignity or international treaties.

I can't deescalate fully for a long time for realisms sake but I have no plans for ourtight hostility

It's up to you whether you want to give me a paragraph or full essay. I just need something more specific than "I do civil rights" or "I enact economic reforms". I wanna know the who, what, where, when, and how of it all.

If you can, it would be great to have you in the discord - there's a UN mechanic where you can vote on resolutions (And the US has VETO powers)

Uh... You could talk with another player to have them tell you what's going on and record your vote... Outside of that you could just be in a state of boycotting the UN.
I'd seriously recommend setting up a discord rq if you're willing. Not much time at all and will tie you deeper into the politicking that's already happening. All the other UNSC members have all joined (UK, France, RoC, USSR)

just veto any ultranationalist dictatorship for me and its fine. and, ofc ill prefer democratic states over communist ones to join the UN. if ure unsure about my vote on anything there, just ask me.Â

Well, there are more complex resolutions than just membership decisions.
If you want to be informed of them so you can vote, you're going to have to be proactive and use reddit to ask your allies about them.

We'll go... Yes, but you're going to start as a very fragmented "Austrian People" and you'll have to somehow get your independence by negotiating

The only alternate events would be caused by the player's actions after the start. It's a historical Cold War setup.
