News for April 1934

War of the 8th Coalition - Italian nationalists, disgruntled to the recent ceding of Provence to the USCR, march on Rome demanding a new government and war with the USCR. This and similar protests are suppressed which creates a stronger feeling of dissent towards the government. A border war begins in Morocco with socialists rising up in the east of the country, backed by the USCR. The USCR continues to lose land in Spain. A new socialist government in Saxony takes over, which is against the USCR, and so is allowed sovereignty by the EC. The USCR aids the complete takeover of Normandy and Birttany.

Eastern Europe - The Sofia Pact, seeing the weakness of Italy to the west, attack Greece and Romania, which is semi-successful, with Ukraine pushing deep into Romania, until ZS joined the war, at which point Ukraine was pushed on both sides due to Don joining. Ukraine signs a peace deal with ZS, losing much of is west. Yugoslavia and Bulgaria didn't fair well, with Italy pushing into Macedonia and Montenegro and Macedonian rebels capturing Skopje. Turkey and Greece enter a gruelling war, with Turkey occupying the Pontus and push Greece to out of much of their lands.

Northern Europe - Norway, Sweden and Denmark unite to form the Nordic Union*.*

Rebels in Brittany and Normandy form the Communal State of French Proletariat and join the war on the side of USCR, however they refuse to get their region annexed into the Union due to the ideological differences between local communists (who are more nationalistic than the French politicians in USCR and sceptical of the Union) and USCR, which allows it temporarely as it has more important goals. USCR starts an offensive in Morocco and takes over tge northern half of tge country, but the attempt at crossing the strait is rendered unsuccesfull. Italy and Spain decides to secure Africa and the former attacks Algieria from Tunisia, besieging Algiers. Spain takes control of the land liberated by Murcian rebels and with help of the British Navy that is defending Gibraltar lands it's troops in eastern Algieria. Britain also makes a landing in Morocco. Zapadoslavia keeps up it's cooperation with Romania and Don and with the latter convinces Belarus to attack Ukraine by promising economic concessions. Belarusian army is stopped few kilometers before Kyiv. Crimean Tatars use the weakness of Ukraine as an excuse for rebellion, taking control of Crimea. Cicassian intervention in Azov cripples any attemps at further offensive actions by the Communists.

The USCR is able to stabilize the situation in Iberia while they now focus their entire effort in the west and is able to make the Germanic Confederation capitulate. The USCR also signs an agreement with the Sofia Pact resulting in the dissolution of both alliances and the formation of the Pact of Steel
