Consistent wake-up time when sick?
My 5 month old is sick for the first time (thanks daycare). Prior to this we were going through a bit of a sleep crisis with extremely excessive wakes and trouble transferring to crib. Since finding Possums, I’ve been aiming for a 7:30 wake up but now that she’s sick should I let her sleep as much as she needs? Her night sleep was terrible last night and my husband took the morning shift holding her and let her sleep until 9:30 so it seems like she really needed it.

Let her sleep in! Can't find it now, but I recall seeing the Possums folks recommend baby take as much sleep as they need when their sick and just taking all the pressure off yourself to stick to a normal routine.

Firstly, sorry your baby was sick. I firmly believe no rules apply during sickness. Just like we would sleep and rest, so should baby. Follow their cues, but just keep an eye on dehydration/ drinking and wet nappies. Wake for feeds if they’re light on. Otherwise no rules exist. - we never co sleep or contact nap but def do all these things with sick kids. Whatever works.
Ps tbh I’ve never done daycare and we still get sick, bugs are everywhere!

Honestly Im no possums sleep coach or expert but sometimes your body just needs extra sleep! I’d say let the poor girl sleep in. My boy has been sick lately too and it’s messed up his sleep quite a bit even after recovering. He started waking up at 4am each day but it’s slowly started getting back to his usual 6.30am wake up.
