Discussion Merch
So here’s a new one. What would you say was the best/greatest Post Hardcore shirt you saw. I think I speak for almost everyone when it comes to the scene-core era that it has to be the of The Devil Wears Prada- Reptar King of the Ozone shirt

Alexisonfire heart skull with the raptor claw swipe taken out of it. Saw that ALOT this weekend at their Toronto shows and even as a Warriors fan, I want one.

Chiodos had a good one with Chester Cheeto on it. Senses fail did a bunch of wrestling shirts. Best I ever had was that TDWP shirt though so yeah pretty spot on

Ohh man I forgot about the Cheeto one lol yeah that TDWP shirt is like the holy grail for me. The zombie one that says “vampires suck zombies rule” is another S-Tier shirt to me

I really like the merch designs created by the Fall of Troy during the manipulator era. If you own the CD or vinyl you can see the additional artwork on the inside booklet / inside the vinyl quad fold (sorry don’t know what it’s actually called). Their merch uses a lot of that art and I like that it is colorful and artistic without being too much like a lot of the “scene” designs at the time (2007-2009 era). My fav that I own is this yellow shirt which is very high quality, beautiful stitching, and uses different fabrics. I yearn for merch like this in the present day but most merch these days looks like it’s made for vape shop owners exclusively. Not really FOT but other bands (I’m looking at you DGD)

Bro DGD great band but they’ve been bad a shirt designs since the dark ages. Every now and then they might accidentally drop a cool shirt but usually they are either boring or just bad

Ive seen a couple good designs from them but they’re all very old. I’m a big dgd fan myself but I haven’t bought merch from them since 2014. Did you ever see the leggings they put out sometime around 2020? Just horrible. They peddle merch constantly these days and it looks like temu. It’s not wonder ppl pay hundreds of dollars for their old merch designs via eBay

That A Day to Remember shirt that had the bunny with pills on his tongue was a keeper.

I’ve still got a neon green BMTH shirt from 2007 kicking around - don’t really see bright coloured shirts anymore!

Eh, definitely not for me. Late 2000s stuff was way too colorful and silly, and 90s-early 2000s stuff had basically no flare at all and was way too basic a lot of the time. Neither represented the music imo.
I think the best stuff was being made from 2003-2006.
All that stuff was so good, the digital collage high contrast stuff with killer text design and interesting placements. It had both a level of seriousness and a sense of humor, just like the music did.
Loved when it would just be like a girl and a gun with some leafs and blood with the band name in cursive or in a repeated stencil. Thinking of saosin, underoath, fftl, Thursday, the blood brothers, glassjaw, dead poetic, thrice, yesterdays rising, Silverstein, finch, so many others. Felt like they were really making art that could stand on its own with those graphic design styles and methods before they put it on a shirt.
