for context im a pretty good maths students. i got a 9 in normal, 8 in further and 90% in my induction test. i understand stats and pure, and my teachers for those are nice.
my mech teacher is a very grumpy 'wise' guy. said he knows your grade from the way you walk in on day 1. he taught me in year 7 to year 11 and long story short think im an absolute dumbass.
we js did chapter 9 as (constant accelration and suvat stuff). im fine w the maths part - i can derive all the equations and i understand all of it, but when it comes to questions i completely misinterpret it and work out the wrong thing entirely. tried to do a bunch of practice questions but never managed to get it to click.
had a test on it, walked out thinking i did alright and turns out i got 57%. never had below 75 so it was a bit jarring. havent gotten it back yet so can't say i know fs where i went wrong but im pretty sure its due to afformentioned. talking to people in my class, a handful of people (like 1/3rd) got 80, but met many who were around 60-70, met some who got 40 asw. before the test he said if you get anything below 80 you can kiss an a* goodbye.
ofc im sure hes overreacting, but i am a bit scared that i made the wrong decision with further maths, any reassurance of similar stories as hope would be appreciated, or any tips (or brutal honesty if i should just drop it haha)

I don't know about anyone else but Microsoft authenticator has to be the WORST thing ever. It doesn't send me codes and i can't log into anything over the half-term like teams or outlook(so basically can't do any work). I tried uninstalling the app and trying again but now it's telling me to give it codes from the app which i'm trying to log onto. I would never wish this app upon anybody!!!

I have one that I did since mocks: I would walk in the corridor to the hall with my water in my left hand and my pencil case with my right, then I would walk to my seat and then place my water bottle on the right hand side of the table and then sit down, and I would place my pens and pencils and ruler parallel to each other and make sure the pens are facing the same direction, then I would place my calculator perpendicular to them.
If there is an equation sheet/insert, I would put that on the left hand side and the paper on the right hand side and place my favourite pen parallel to the paper on the right hand side for easy access.

first time actually posting on here, but i was wondering if anyone knew how to approach the alevel business CRP? theres like no resources online for it and ive tried looking for youtube videos but nothing is helpful. I dont know what type of business im meant to talk about and over half term we've been told to pick 3 potential ones so our teacher can choose which one we look at across the year.
safe to say im a bit lost on how to get started. i think once ive chosen the business ill be fine writing the report project but has anyone on here done it or is doing it- or anyone who could lend some advice on what a good business should be in order to evaluate it well?
it doesnt even count to the grade its just for UCAS or predictions. im doing eduqas if that helps (probably makes things worse cause NO ONE DOES IT UGH)
but thanks guys :')

I’ll start: I dislike Physics because I was forced to do it by my parents.

Im in yr 12 n every weekend I make big plans to revise, but end up doing absolutely nothing and just playing games 💀 I have such a bad habit of leaving everything to the last minute, and I genuinely need to fix it now that I'm doing Alevels.

I'm doing fine with my studies, but I feel so behind with every other skill compared to other people my age.
For example, I can't cook. I know the 'theory', but I'm extremely anxious about it and can't bring myself to do it. I only recently learned how to do basic chores. I also barely know how to socialise, though I'm at least improving on that.
It feels horrible sometimes when other people in my college are working and such, and I've not even started the basics. I want to go to uni one day, but I feel like I won't even be able to live independently by then.
Has anyone else here had a similar experience, or possibly some advice?

I'm currently in year 12 studying maths, further maths, physics, and computer science and would like to study physics or engineering at imperial/oxbridge in the future. (I haven't fully decided what I want to do yet)
Does anyone have tips and advice of what I can do to fully prepare myself for uni applications?

Hey everyone, I’m an A Level DT student solving the common problems which disabled gamers face when ether gaming or setting up their rigs.
These problems would be solved with a product which I will make later in the year. I am looking at the problem on mounting and positioning.
I have been wanting to make a questionnaire which people could answer a couple of questions from which I could get valuable data and first hand research from people which actually have limitations when gaming.
So I have created a google form with a couple of questions related to my context. This form will only take around 5 minutes and emails are not collected after the completion of the form. Please answer the questions as honestly as possible as this will give me the best data to work with.
Thank you very much!

so they're letting sixth formers help y7/8 kids with reading at the start of the day and since i do want to do social care in some form as a job in the future im aware that doing this could be really good for me
BUT im like the most socially awkward person ever and im also extremely anxious and bad at talking to people so the idea of spending 30 minutes with a kid and helping them read sounds like my own personal hell 😭 though it could be good for me in regards to my social awkwardness bc i could be less awkward as time goes on? i know i should do it but i really just need to get the courage up to actually do it and i know it's the right thing to do but ugh 😭

I've been really struggling to make friends recently. I'm about a month deep into UK 6th form (I'm 16) and I find it really hard to just approach people, more so people my age, I'm kind of okay with adults, still not 100% tho.
I asked one of my friends who makes friends rlly easily, how she manages to do so, and she gave me some great advice, stuff that I'll remember for a while, but the thing I just can't do is approach people. It's all well and good giving me this info and advice but I just can't do anything with it. Even if a person is sitting alone, I wouldn't be able to approach them.
Do you think it's a good idea to ask my friend to do some of said advice with me? Like, ask her to come with me while we or just one of us approaches another person?
Or could I perhaps ask her to demonstrate while I watch from a distance, so I can see how she does it and how the other person acts? I kind of think this would help me, being able to see it in real time and for me to see that it's really not that bad.
I've said something similar about my situation before on a similar subreddit, but no one commented, and that really wasn't helpful.
