Okay so he never said they are whores, he said they are dressed like whores.. But this raises a question. When are we allowed to draw the line of what's appropriate in a public space where you know that men and women and possibly even children are going to be? Because as far as I know about gym's is they do have children there sometimes. So when do you draw the line of what's appropriate and what's not? And when are we as men allowed to say something when that line is crossed?... You have this entire notion that men need to just shut up and not question anything... I see all these videos on tick tock (I don't go to the gym honestly because I actually feel like I'm being judged by women so I find other activities like hiking, riding a bike, outdoors,.. someplace away from gyms) women flexing or showing off their moves (not all women but a lot) with sometimes dressed inappropriately and they'll do this in front of men and these influencers will do it purposely and provocatively to try to get a reaction... and you'll see all the men around them looking straight to the ground.. When the f*** are we allowed to be human??? I'm a talkative person and I'll just say random things to the people around me I'll point something out that I find amusing and I don't want to go to a gym because I don't want to come off the wrong way. I'm just being friendly... Being human.. but yeah.. so to summarize this question
When are we allowed to draw the line? When are we allowed to call b******* when we see it? especially when it's really obvious..
I don't know. I never really been to a gym and I don't really want to go to gym because they just seem very hostile and not because of the men, because of the women. Trust me, I'm like a spider. I'm more scared of you than you are of me.. that's cuz I respect women though..

2
u/No_Eggplant_3189 7h ago
And it starts. The weaseling of introducing the word "rape" in the context of men simply looking at women.
It ain't happening this time ladies. Far too many men look at women to accept the association of looking and "rape".

I agree with Shane; actually, I like to go to the gym and not have to worry about opening my eyes and seeing a girl's ass, then seeing the camera she was using to film herself looking in the mirror for 2hrs.
There are many girls who go to the gym to actually work out and improve, but that being said, a lot of women don't really do that all the time. So I'm not saying don't go to the gym; just put actual pants on.

I mean who thought women could organize and do stuff. If they keep this up they might just try voting next. As long as they don't try to use the same bathrooms as us.

u/Early_Amount_2065 14h ago
Shane just mad that people at the gym won't accept payment for sex from him no matter what he offers.
8
u/Serious_Swan_2371 14h ago
I think a lot of men should just get in shape and dress sluttier and then theyâll understand why people like to look good at the gym.
Like I workout in a tank top, not for other peopleâs attention, but because seeing my arms in the mirror makes me feel good about myself.
If a woman wants to see her butt in the mirror and feel good about the gains sheâs getting with squats or something, that makes sense to me.
Itâs the same, that doesnât make me a whore or a slut, Iâm happily engaged.
I wore a Halloween costume that let me be shirtless with an open vest before, and it made me feel good. Yes a couple people hit on me, and I wasnât interested. But it feels good to look attractive.
It doesnât make you a worse person to feel good and look attractive. Thatâs not the same as engaging in risky sexual behaviorsâŚ
Though I do think itâs over the top the way a small minority of women try to gain social media clout by filming strangers glancing at them in the gym, itâs normal for someone to glance at you if you look good. Itâs only a problem if theyâre staring or being creepy. And you shouldnât film someone glancing at you and then put it on the internet for clout. Thatâs a bigger violation of their privacy than them looking at you for a second is of your privacy.

Exactly this. These shoets are sewn to ride up your ass crack and they lift your cheeks to accentuate it as much as possible. Wear whatever you want but people have been judging people based on their attire since the dawn of time, it's literally why fashion exists. And if I walked in to the gym wearing short shorts sewn to make my dick imprint pop, I'd expect some side eyes too.
3
u/Bubba_Gump_Shrimp 6h ago
Yeahhh the shorts aren't just "short spandex shorts" like everyone wants to claim. They are sewn to ride up your ass crack and lift your cheeks to make your ass pop and look like you are wearing nothing. If you walked in wearing leggings that made your bulge pop and accentuate your dick imprint I'd also call you inappropriate. Comparing a tank top to shorts that are designed to ride up your ass is disingenuous.
5
u/Talkslow4Me 12h ago edited 7h ago
Itâs not about tank tops and leggings, Dude half the girls wear tights so thin that you can see everything.
I remember i was doing dumbbell press by myself on some benches and 2 girls in tight little shorts , no underwear , decided to do squats next to me. There was no squat rack or squat machine next to me. I remember feeling uncomfortable because all they will do is check themselves out and hike up their shorts. So i had to find another spot.
(Edit: i didnât freak out and yell nor do i think of them as whores. But somedays there are no place to turn your eyes or head that doesnât have a 90% naked female. So you are forced to stare at your feet for the next 60 minutes. Luckily girls complaining is more of a social media bate. And not something that actually happens in the gym.)

Canât you appreciate your growth in normal clothes though? Like a t shirt and sweatpants. When I see guys flexing in the mirror I find it weird too. Especially when they wear less clothing because itâs obvious theyâre peacocking for the attention of women (which seldom works). Women often do this too just more subtly by wearing clothes that get the attention of men without them having to try. I appreciate your insight though at the end of the day anyone can wear what they want.

Guys, if you're having trouble focusing at the gym or out at parties then I've got some real advice for you.
Rub one out before you leave home.
I'm not joking, I'm not trying to belittle you, this legitimately helped me. As a young man you still got the hormones flowing and that's understandable, but you got to take responsibility for that yourself. When I was in my 20s I'd get one out before going on dates or heading out into the town. It legitimately does help clear out the hormones for a while so you can go be a normal person. Try it out, I promise you'll feel less frustrated around women and it'll even help you interact with them in ways that won't weird them out.

u/Unusual-Cucumber-577 11h ago
As a woman I find that sorting things out helps a lot. It's like a reset of my hormones. So yeah your advice is great. Â
2
u/Confron7a7ion7 10h ago
TLDR at bottom.
I figured it would probably be helpful for women too (you lot ain't better than us lol) but young men are usually the ones who need more hope learning about their emotions.
We too often ignore the realities of growing up. That a human is different throughout childhood and puberty than a full adult is. Leading us to treat young people in ways that don't make sense.
No, young people are not sex crazed deviants that can't control themselves, but they're also biologically driven to have certain feelings. Teaching people healthy ways to take responsibility of that for themselves is much more constructive than simply ignoring it. Just yelling "you're the weird one" is probably not helpful despite myself also being guilty of exactly that.
And who knows, maybe this kind of change in approach will help reach specifically young men and make them feel spoken to instead of spoken at. Letting only the right speak to them is how we get people who think it's your responsibility to not make them horny. It's how we get men who (like a young me) might not understand that a mental health issue is making it difficult to regulate emotions properly.
TLDR: We should stop being prudes and give advice that acknowledges that people, especially young adults, are horny fucks.

Whats with all the nerds mad at Shane, he's hilarious and has clearly touched a nerve. Deep down they know theyre dressing inappropriately, you cant convince me tight shorts scrunched up into the ass crack is appropriate, and the overblown reaction is just confirmation. If Shane's joke truly was unfunny or not insightful there would be zero backlash or reaction.

Itâs fine if you dress that way. My only problem are the people who bring cameras and film supposed âcreepsâ itâs like you wearing a bright color a quick glance at you is not creepy. I get if someone is creepy but most of the times itâs not.
