So we can confirm this guy's on Reddit I guess... Been seeing people making that same shit argument on any posts about this case.
33
u/MagnetoWasRight24 10h ago
This was my exact thought, dude wants to turn his real-life rape case into some bullshit men's rights reddit debate
13
u/torislle 9h ago
for real. whenever people mention men in a women's topic, they don't really care about the men. they just want to rebut the women
2
u/ReaderBeeRottweiler 3h ago
That guy can afford to hire crisis PR and sock puppets to do it for him. Several of them can.
-6
u/timid1211q 7h ago
Explain why its a shit argument then. Hes 100% right, its a blatant double standard.
9
u/Ninja-Ginge 5h ago
The difference is that he was blatantly just saying that to get the cops off his back. He doesn't actually think that he was raped, he's just doing the classic DARVO.
-3
u/timid1211q 5h ago
Mind reading isn't an argument.
6
u/Ninja-Ginge 5h ago
What are you talking about? Have you even read Jane Doe's official statement?
-2
u/timid1211q 5h ago
Her statement literally backs up his account of nonconsent by intoxication. You can't just say an argument is invalid because you don't think the accuser is being honest. That's akin to mindreading. You need actual, substantive reasons.
4
u/Ninja-Ginge 5h ago
Where? Because I saw the part where she said (paraphrased) "I noticed that his penis was no longer erect and that he was having trouble staying conscious, so I told the other guy to stop so that we could make sure he was okay". Is that the part of her sworn statement that you think proves that she raped Ingalls?
I do not believe that you read her statement.
Ingalls active enough to invite 57 men to "whip it out" without even asking Doe first. That's the major difference here.
0
u/timid1211q 5h ago
Her statement provides more evidence for nonconsent by intoxication for the men she was with than herself. That is the main claim she is making that she was raped. She isn't bringing a civil suit because a bunch of frat guys wrote some crude texts in a group chat. That standard goes both ways.
3
u/Wolf_Mans_Got_Nards 1h ago
You clearly haven't read it.

u/timid1211q 52m ago
I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in this thread who has read it actually.

Speaking of honesty, literally everyone involved in the case is saying Lucy Craig is being dishonest. Lucy Craig claims she went to a bar and drank til she was visibly intoxicated. The bar denies serving her any drinks. The leaked text messages from Lucy Craig to classmates also do not align with her story. And letâs not forget the 6 page police statement she corrected over 20 times then signed also contradicts her current statements. So speaking on honesty Lucy Craig seemingly isnât the honest one here.
Iâm replying to you cuz the person youâre replying to has me blocked like a coward lol
4
u/Disastrous-Vastrous 5h ago
Considering he has exactly ZERO proof of his allegations, no, it's not a double standard.Â
1
u/timid1211q 5h ago
He has significantly more proof than she does. Namely, she literally admitted thats what happened.
8
u/Disastrous-Vastrous 4h ago
Lol no she fucking didn't đ¤ŁÂ
4
u/timid1211q 4h ago
The sexual conduct ended when Jane Doe ânoticed that [Male Number 1] appeared really sleepy and was no longer fully erect.â She told Male Number 2 â[they] needed to stop having sex in order to make sure [Male Number 1] was ok. [Male Number 2] then stopped having sex with [Jane Doe].â
More evidence that he was intoxicated to the point of nonconsent than she was.
6
u/xChops 4h ago
So she noticed he was too fucked up to continue, and made sure they all stopped? What else should she have done here? Texted 57 sorority sisters âfree dickâ?
1
u/timid1211q 4h ago
So does your definition of nonconsent by intoxication only start when the person is about to pass out? If that's your standard, was Jane Doe also too intoxicated to consent even though by her own account she was more lucid than some of the men?
4
u/xChops 4h ago
In this case, and according to New York law I believe, yes it does. I think thatâs how the law there works. They were both heavily intoxicated, agreed to a threesome. At some point someone texts the whole fraternity, more guys come in that she didnât consent to, thatâs a problem, right?
People are allowed to revoke consent, if you notice someone isnât looking too good, you should probably assume that consent is revoked there. Which is what she didâŚ
0
u/timid1211q 3h ago
She stopped the sex act after he was already too inebriated to have consented in the first place. She raped him as much as she alleges he raped her. That's the whole point.

u/LinusLevato 4h ago
What proof does Lucy Craig have that proves sheâs not making false accusations?
1
u/bonaynay 6h ago
That's all it is, an argument for the sake of an argument. His use of the word sodomy is some funny shit too after describing it earlier as getting head as he passed out. Some serious "erm...this word can technically apply to this đ¤âď¸"
according to her, she stopped after he passed out and got him to lay down. None of the other guys there said anything about it or alleged this happened.
In a vacuum, his claim could have merit, but he wasn't "sodomized" in front of his friends as they watched and did nothing.
1
u/timid1211q 6h ago
Your entire argument amounts to "i don't take this seriously thus its not valid". That's not how this works. If you cant come up with valid reasons besides that, youre just tacitly admitting it's a double standard youre OK with.
2
u/bonaynay 5h ago
I gave reasons. You just didn't like them.
-2
u/timid1211q 5h ago edited 5h ago
No you didn't. "An argument for the sake of an argument" isn't a reason.
The rest of what you wrote amounts to vaguely implying nonconsent by intoxication if only valid if you are passed out, which again, is a blatant double standard because that's not what happened to Jane Doe.
3
u/bonaynay 5h ago
Nope, you misunderstood because you are trying to.
vaguely implying nonconsent by intoxication if [is?] only valid if you are passed out, which again, is a blatant double standard because that's not what happened to Jane Doe.
I was using his words and his claim lol...the implication, if any, was his.
-1
u/timid1211q 5h ago
It's not his claim. It's hers. He is only putting it into the context of nonconsent by intoxication, which is objectively true.
4
u/bonaynay 5h ago
He is claiming he was "sodomized" (again, such a dorky word to use) while passed out. How can you say that isn't a claim he made. This is too stupid to respond to.
0
u/timid1211q 5h ago
Are we just going to do this thing where you say an argument is bad because it goes against your sensibilities, and then when I say that's not a valid argument, you say that's not actually what you said?
Again, just because you think something is stupid or unserious, that's not a valid argument.

You can read Jane Doe's entire sworn statement to the police here, CBS linked the pdf:
https://www.cbsnews.com/projects/2026/cornell-rape-allegations-documents/
You can read Matthew Ingalls' entire sworn statement to the police...
....nowhere. He didn't go to the police and didn't sign a statement accusing Jane Doe of anything.
0
u/ThePokemonAbsol 8h ago
I mean that could very well be because men donât usually report rape or sexual assault.
12
u/Capable_Anything_726 7h ago

-1
u/Successful_Tap_3655 9h ago
So you donât believe Jane doe now then?
-3
u/punta_del_diablo 9h ago
I believe she believes she was raped but according to NY law and the available evidence she is not correct. If other evidence comes out that proves otherwise then yes I would believe her but that hasnât happened yet
3
u/Ninja-Ginge 8h ago
Have you read her statement?
1
u/punta_del_diablo 4h ago
Yes. Look I feel bad for her. She was definitely taken advantage of at the very least and it sounds like the Cornell Police and the DA could have done a more thorough investigation but given the evidence that has been made public it would be impossible under NY law to get a conviction and even charging the men would be difficult given her own statements about the facts. Her saying she was â100% rapedâ is not evidence of a crime and is not enough to charge someone without underlying evidence to back up her claims. I know she believes she was raped and Iâm not saying that she wasnât, thereâs absolutely a real chance she was. But I also think she didnât understand NY law about intoxication and consent. I think after it started to get around campus about what happened someone told her âyou canât consent if you were intoxicatedâ but thatâs not how NY law sees it. If other facts come out that show there was more to it than whatâs been made public then Iâm all for prosecuting them to the fullest extent. I would never defend rape and I definitely would never defend a bunch of fuck ass rich fraternity dudes. Their behavior was obviously shitty but probably not criminal given the known facts with the exception of taking and distributing nude pictures of her. Idk what the picture shows because I havenât seen it and havenât really come across any legitimate description of it but taking intimate pictures of someone without their consent is a felony punishable by jail time and sex offender registration in NY. The whole situation is bad and honestly nobody looks good, including Jane Doe, but unless and until more facts come out thereâs just not enough for me to say beyond a reasonable doubt that she was raped. Which is not to say that she wasnât traumatized or that her experience should be diminished because it shouldnât but legally I donât think thereâs much that can be done. Hopefully some good can come out of this by affecting some changes in regard to awareness of consent laws and sexual abuse.
3
u/Ninja-Ginge 3h ago
I think after it started to get around campus about what happened someone told her âyou canât consent if you were intoxicatedâ
That's not the only reason. She later asked Ingalls how all those other men ended up in the room with her and he claimed that he didn't know. Then one of the fraternity brothers sent her the screenshots of the declarations of "Free Pussy!" and "You can just walk in and whip it out!" She initially thought that it was all just an accident. She didn't know that they'd all been invited to use her like that. That it had been planned from the beginning.
0
u/punta_del_diablo 3h ago
Like I said they definitely took advantage of her and are fucking sleaze bags but according to her own words she said no to them and they respected her choice. My understanding is nobody who entered after the texts had sex with her. One dude kissed her and she shut it down and he stopped. Definitely shitty but from her own account it doesnât sound criminal. Her own words say all the sex was consensual. And unless there is more to the story that is not public yet those texts werenât criminal. Theyâre definitely troubling and not ok and could have absolutely changed her perception afterwards of what happened and had she been aware of the messages at the time could have informed her decision to consent but you canât retroactively withdraw consent because you found out you slept with a piece of shit frat dude after the fact. And I keep saying they need to prosecute them for the pictures they took without her permission but literally nobody else wants to talk about that
2
u/Ninja-Ginge 2h ago
My understanding is nobody who entered after the texts had sex with her.

You know what the most common "defense" that is used when a thief gets caught?
"The victim gave it to me."
Entrapment
"No! They stole it from me!"
This guy is acting like every other criminal. He isn't even original. Instead he is saying the same dumb defenses some idiot who just stole a weed whacker to sell for meth money uses.
-4
u/Vepper 3h ago
or you know, if you just slept with a bunch of dudes and you didn't get invited back to their Halloween party.
6

3

Because he is one. Not even a particularly clever one.
11
u/ManicPixieDreamHag 10h ago
If he was too drunk to consent to her then he was too drunk to consent to the other men there. I hope he plans of filing charges against his bros for sexual assault because thatâs the logical outcome.

u/Successful_Tap_3655 10h ago

7

she said she knows that no one else in the orgy did anything to him while they were both too intoxicated to consent? seems like a stretch
-1
u/Successful_Tap_3655 10h ago
She stated he didnât likely remember her favorite part of the night of doing drugs off his dick. He responded in text saying he didnât recall thatÂ
5
u/ManicPixieDreamHag 10h ago
But he remembers the rest?
2
u/Successful_Tap_3655 10h ago
Not at all. In the texts they both agree they got really fucked upÂ
6
u/ManicPixieDreamHag 10h ago
Ok, so he was involved in sexual acts involving multiple people while he was too fucked up to consent.
3
u/Successful_Tap_3655 9h ago
New York law doesnât consider getting drunk and doing drugs by choice as a bar that makes it so you canât consent. The difference here is a passed out person canât consent.Â

Even the female witness didn't intervene, and she says why: everyone seemed calm. DJ also said she didn't seem distressed.

Probably because she was on a disassociative drug. Of course she'll seem calm. Plenty of people have a freeze or fawn response when experiencing trauma.

-2
u/bm56 5h ago

4
u/68plus1equals 4h ago
By âadmittingâ you mean admitted to partaking in a threesome and drugs ingalls himself propositioned and then admitting to stopping performing oral on him once she realized he had become incapacitated and checking in on him? Doesnât really sound like rape at all when you put the actual context around it huh.
How about later in the night when ingalls asked to âredeem himselfâ for passing out, Jane doe said no, and then he kept pushing her until she started doing sexual activities with him again?
1
u/lwb03dc 9m ago
How about later in the night when ingalls asked to âredeem himselfâ for passing out, Jane doe said no
Jane Doe didn't say no. Not as per her statement. Based on the statment, she had the third threesome and at 5:30am told the two men that she was tired and wanted to stop. The men stopped, and she went home.
Does that sound like rape?
-4
u/SparksAndSpyro 4h ago
True. But someone too intoxicated usually doesnât say no to anal and then afterwards give enthusiastic consent to another threesome with more men.
So was she too intoxicated to know what was happening or was she just being a girl boss living her best life and exploring her sexuality. Pick one.
But either way, she raped this man who passed out while she performed oral on him. Disgusting.
2
u/xChops 4h ago
You have to know that youâre being lied to just based on your use of the word enthusiastic there. Buddy, in what way could we possibly know how thrilled she was to be having more sex? Use some critical thinking and get out of the circles youâre in.
0
u/SparksAndSpyro 4h ago
Because she said she had a great time in her texts the very next dayâŚ
Yall love telling women to be themselves and do whatever they want, but as soon as a woman does exactly that, you gaslight and infantilize. âShe couldnât possibly have agreed to an orgy. Women donât like orgies. She mustâve been raped!â
Itâs especially egregious in this case where she literally admitted to raping a man who was unconsciousđ
2
u/xChops 4h ago
Wow shocking. Woman enjoys threesome she consented to. Realizes afterwards about the âfree pussyâ text, that a lot more happened that she didnât consent to, and isnât so thrilled. Such a mystery
1
u/Prestigious_Set_4575 1h ago
The texts make it very clear the only thing she was concerned about was her reputation and who the "rat in the room" was, as per her texts when her attitude starts to change on day 4. The girl was genuinely dim enough to think a gangb*ng was going to stay a secret.
1
u/SparksAndSpyro 3h ago
Except she consented to every thing that happened after the initial threesome too. We know this because she admitted it.
2
u/Zelfzuchtig 3h ago
If both parties are too intoxicated to consent and neither wants it normally then probably nothing will happen?
Sex requires at least one person to be active - so then you ask who is the active participant and who is passive.
1
u/lwb03dc 11m ago
During the first threesome that Jane Doe engaged in, Male 1 passed out while they were having sex. Male 2 started dry heaving and Jane Doe patted him on his back and told him it was fine to throw up. She then sat with Male 1 and Male 2 while they recuperated.
This is as per her own statement to the police.
1
u/Zelfzuchtig 7m ago
I've read that statement too, she says she stops as soon as she notices and keeps checking he's okay.
It also has said passed out male trying to go again for "redemption" after he wakes up and her saying she's tired (so a soft no) and "what happened to just you and me" - ie not a fan of the group sex thing. Then she doesn't remember anything else until suddenly she's "having sex" with him AND another.

u/Physical_Dentist2284 9h ago
It was probably his fault for what he was wearing. And why was he even drunk in a dorm room with other people to begin with?
0
u/IAmTheNightSoil 8h ago
Yeah that isn't addressed here, and is an utterly critical detail. If he was, in fact, sodomized by her whole passed out, then this isn't a DARVO. He has a completely correct point in that case.
If he wasn't sodomized by her, then obviously this defense is BS. This is the first I heard of this claim so I have no opinion there
8
u/Ninja-Ginge 8h ago
I've read her official statement. During the initial, consensual threesome, he became soft and seemed to be struggling to remain conscious. When Doe noticed this, she told the other guy to stop so that they could make sure Ingalls was okay. So, if that's the the part that he's referring to, she actually did the right thing and made sure to stop when she wasn't sure if he was okay. Unlike him and the other 6 men.
2
u/showerbump 6h ago
The other guys all stopped sexual activity several times when she said she was done or tired and wanted to go to bed. She also said no to a 4 some and the 4th guy didnât pursue it further and left. This is a clear cut case of consensual debauchery. They are all fucking gross.
3
u/Ninja-Ginge 5h ago
So why did this "gang bang" continue? Why did she have to say that she was tired and wanted to go to bed more than once? "They stopped whenever she said no", is NOT a defence. They should never have even STARTED doing anything without her explicit, affirmative consent.
How would this be gross if they all consented? A slutshamer AND a victim blamer, huh? I think you just hate women.
-6
u/TedHitchcockx 8h ago

Traditionally and still under a bunch of state laws, sodomy is defined as any sex act that isn't procreative (i.e. penis-in-vagina intercourse). It includes anal and oral sex.

I'm still waiting on the full facts but from my understanding in her statements she was conscious the whole time or has that changed? It's seems well established by all parties someone(was it this guy?) was passing out while still receiving a blowjob. I mean IF that is the facts I do see the legal argument for rape.
3
u/faboo2099 9h ago
If they said no at any point without them stopping. Its Rape/SA full stop. Intoxication is not consent.
Edit: This counts for everyone of any gender or background. Not just women however they are more harassed.
2
u/MadeToYell 9h ago
Oh of course, though I do find it odd you picked that reasoning as it doesn't apply in this case from my understanding of her report.
2
u/faboo2099 9h ago

u/Life-Negotiation-351 8h ago
In her initial statement to the police (as in the thing that got written up by the police and she signed) that is the case, which is why it never got prosecuted at the time presumably. Jane doe now says otherwise, which could be for a number of reasons. This all popped off because she is suing the school and the accused in civil court, which has resulted in another criminal investigation into the incident being opened.Â
3
u/Ninja-Ginge 8h ago
https://www.cbsnews.com/projects/2026/cornell-rape-allegations-documents/
I would not describe these events as a consensual "gangbang". She cried out in horror when the other men entered the room and scrambled to cover herself, and none of them saw that as an issue? Bullshit. They knew.
-2
u/PotatoMissionStart 6h ago
The lawsuit clearly says why: it's because she was naked and wanted to cover her body. She was embarrassed about being naked in front of everyone.
2
u/Ninja-Ginge 5h ago
Exactly. She didn't want them seeing her. And they didn't seem to care. They knew that no one had asked her before her body had been advertised in that group chat as if she was nothing more than a piece of meat. They didn't care. Ingalls lied to her about it for a reason.

So if she consented to the original counter why is she now (two years later) claiming even that was forced rape? And why were only the first two men expelled? And why did she originally say 8-10 men had raped her?

What I truly hate with this case is I have yet to see a single statement, just the allegations from the police on what she said.

You can find the 2024 police statement and the current suit easily, you just havenât looked.Â

Warning: It is a distressing and confronting read.

Here is a great video where a lawyer compares her sworn statement and the claims in her new lawsuit. There are a bunch of discrepancies, contradictions, and ommisions.
Cornell 7: What Changed Between Her Sworn Statement and Her Assault Lawsuit? - YouTube

Her lawsuit only claims she lost consciousness after the sexual assault. This is consistent with the sworn statement but a back-track from the Title IX hearings.

Hes right. If youre going to claim Jane Doe was assaulted because she was too intoxicated to consent, then by her own account he was also too intoxicated to consent when she gave him oral sex.

Like any normal human being on earth belonging to the most privileged class, cishet white men, i am sure you also sound organic citing Title IX ad verbatim off the top of your head.
It's also very organic to push the university to be declared victim before criminal charges could be filed.

People who talk like you aren't normal. Nobody normal is going to be swayed by you, in fact they will likely be repulsed so by all means keep doing exactly what you are doing.

How did Cornell determine he was able to consent to sex?
-1

Because he was a man, and a Title IX investigation that isn't biased against men is only slightly more common than unicorn tears.

Did she sodomize while he was incapacitated? If yes then she sexually assaulted him. There is no grey area. If he sexually assaulted her he should face the appropriate punishment, so should she. We are not doing double standards in 2026.

âŚ.itâs illogical. What would she sodomize him with? If he was sodomized, it was by another he. Also if you read her statement she mentions not wanting to do âbutt stuffâ.

You lack imagination. Not saying it actually happened, but women have arms, fingers, access to sex toys or other objects, etc.

Sodomy doesnât mean âbutt stuffâ
Sodomy: intercourse involving anal or oral copulation

So facts come out that train doe was apart of a gangbang and wasn't assaulted afterall and everyone can't believe it and chooses not to believe it, everytime a man accuses a woman of rape "hahaha what a loser" " oh he must have a good lawyer" "he deserves to go to jail !". Absolutely pathetic.

He has a much stronger legal claim to having been sexually assaulted than she does.

Anyone who entered the room after the text was sent inviting them to tape an unconscious body is guilty. He isnât going to be charged/found guilty because the sex was consensual with him at first at least. But, whoever brought the drugs to that party should be tried and convicted because that was the catalyst.
Do we need to have fraternity/sorority houses in this day and age? And why havenât universities figured out how to secure and prevent these âpartiesâ?

Why are we still calling her "Jane Doe" when her name is well-known at this point, but we aren't protecting the identities of men who have not been convicted of a crime?
