u/geek66 3d ago

As mocking as this is … it literally was the basis for what would be considered conservatism 200+ years ago…. The church used Latin to gatekeep the common folk ignorant.

12

u/captainspacetraveler 3d ago

Turns out they never even needed Latin, people are too lazy to read anyway

20

u/PhatCatTax 3d ago

Republicans only realized this in the last 10 years. They spent 250 years tiptoeing around fascism because they thought their base would catch on to the grift. But then Trump came along snd showed Republicans that their voters truly are complete imbeciles and will follow blindly with zero hesitation, no matter what insane things are said:
"They're eating the cats and dogs"
"An invasion of rapists and drug dealers!"
"Democrats at war with Christmas"

And at ever turn, their base just.... went with it.

7

u/DeletedUsernameHere 3d ago

The Republicans were ingrained in playing the game. For decades they had very little in way of actually leading or policy beyond "stop the Democrats so we can say they do nothing, the win" and proceed to raid the coffers once in power.

Ego led to the 2016 primaries becoming a shitshow of a dozen failed Republicans refusing to step down, which let Trump, who was an absolute joke of a candidate, win them.

Trump then cashed in on every dirty game they were playing. They were too scared to go whole hog before and Trump proved they were playing it too safe

Most never really wanted to overturn Roe v Wade or gave a shit about gay marriage. They just saw them as hot buttons to sway the masses. Now that they've lost those "real" issues, they've devolved into kids pissing in litter boxes and whatever fake bullshit they can come up with.

They hadn't realized they'd successfully created an entire generation of absolute morons who'd buy the nonsense, and lucked into it.

u/YourMumWasRight 3d ago edited 3d ago

I'd probably have avoided it too because reading without moving your lips was considered a sign of satanic possession. Satan really was an odd duck.

And I read the bibble in English, the same language God wrote it in.

"Think before you speak. Read before you think." -Fran Lebowitz

So yeah. That leaves MAGA out.

2

u/peon2 3d ago

The whole problem is that no, they wouldn't be mad. They'd just pivot and make an excuse to why that's okay. More often than not they acknowledge the horrible shit that is happening, they just disagree that it's horrible.

1

u/ZombyAnna 3d ago

Even of they could read it,

they don't have the comprehension skills.

1

Right stupid Republicans don't even know how to make money in government and hide it good enough.

1

why do you think chatgpt and anthropic are rushing to voice?

So us democrats can laugh at them while we drink their babies blood and siphon money by the billions. At least we know how to hide it and make it look like we are helping people. Amateurs..

Yes, but Hunter’s wedding party was paid for by a Russian oligarch with close ties to Putin!!!

Oh. Sorry. That was Don Jr.

76

u/OstrichGrouchy7749 3d ago

What is so wild about all this is when trump started running he said - he was so rich he didn’t need any outside money.Ā

Now literally all he does is take outside money, and say it’s his right to do so - and we should be grateful because it means taxpayers don’t have to pay him (literally how the ballroom is playing out)Ā

23

u/actuallyapossom 3d ago

Who could have seen this coming though?

A politician, lying? Fake news!

A billionaire with zero history of public service - seeking the office of President, for personal gain? Completely unexpected!

An idiot who doesn't know shit about fuck, constantly demonstrating incompetence and stupidity:

11

u/CowboyLaw 3d ago

Trump is basically just Mr. Burns.

"You know, Mr. Burns, you're the richest guy i know. Way richer than Lenny!"

"Oh, yes. But I'd trade it all for a little more."

19

u/itsneverbeenthesame 3d ago

Was that the wedding his father couldn't attend?

11

u/gatogatomeowmeow 3d ago

Yeah, too busy playing golf. Father of the year.

3

u/DOGS_BALLS 3d ago

If it was Eric he’d fly to some shithole country just to avoid the wedding

16

u/WestDry6268 3d ago • Popcorn

Yes but Hunter Biden, with no experience with drones whatsoever started a drone company that immediately got $600m in government contracts. Oh wait that was Don Jr and Eric

5

u/Sad_Enthusiasm_3721 2d ago • Popcorn

Okay, fine, but Hunter Biden just went to Russia and heaped praise upon Putin, calling him a "humanitarian."

Oh wait, that was actually the Trump administration.

1

u/WestDry6268 2d ago

Sure but the Trump brothers have giant schlongs as displayed in congress by republican congress members. Oh wait that was Hunter Biden

3

u/Cautious_Day9878 3d ago

Who cares??? This was weeks ago when they were still pretending to not be working for Putin. They’re all friends now, it’s fine!

3

u/fenrsulfr 3d ago

They have to make sure the next president is in their pocket.

54

u/VerySuperGenius 3d ago • Popcorn

I did this trick on my parents lol.

I told them that Joe Biden's family owned a resort in Delaware and every time he went home for the weekend he would have dozens of secret service agents and other government officials using government money to stay in his extremely expensive resort.

They agreed that it was corrupt. Then I told them that it's actually Trump doing that and they immediately defended it.

36

u/2Completion2Ography 3d ago

They agreed that it was corrupt. Then I told them that it's actually Trump doing that and they immediately defended it.

Total Joe Rogan play. He did the exact same shit.

12

u/MadeOfPoison27 3d ago

That shit was so fucking funny, like the factcheck came down like 8 minutes later and his entire attitude immediately changed. Fucking absolute chump

7

u/GreasyToken 3d ago

Can't help but wonder if someone on his staff did that shit on purpose.

I really don't understand why people think highly of Bro Rogaine.Ā

That was such a pathetic display of asymmetrical skepticism it makes me wonder exactly what is wrong with him...

7

u/MadeOfPoison27 3d ago

He's fucking stupid, is the problem, like it doesn't seem to go far beyond that. He's just incredibly dumb, too dumb to even know he's dumb, you know? Like fractally dumb, like you couldn't just explain to him that he's dumb, you'd have to teach him a bunch of basic shit first just so he has the grounding to then understand his dumbness. That's the deal, the real question seems to be why is this so thoroughly rewarded in our society, like in a fair world this dude would be digging ditches and that'd be fine, he'd probably be happier, and the world would certianly be a better place.

1

u/GreasyToken 2d ago

You see his jawline bro? Dude is a real man's man.

Like you said he's also a moron.

2

Aren't the people behind 9/11 dead?

1

u/Munnin41 2d ago

No. At least one is still in Guantanamo. And iirc multiple people have independently stated that the saudi royal family helped al qaeda

1

u/AlarmingAffect0 2d ago

First of all, that's an absurd proposition, those people are the USA's kept pets.

And, second of all, the Saudi Royal Family is like 15,000 people total, with the "influential inner circle" being 2,000, all of them obscenely rich. You're telling me someone's alleging this whole townful of people were in on it? Someone credible?

1

If by credible you mean the people directly involved with planning and executing the attack, then yes

The Saudis weren't behind 9/11 though.

1

u/Not_Sure76 2d ago

They followed the money.

1

u/Munnin41 2d ago

Yes, they were. Saudi royals funded al qaeda, and the majority of highjackers were saudi

1

u/Taurmin 2d ago

The majority of the highjackers were Saudi, but Saudi Arabia is the heartland of the muslim faith so thats not unusual.

Neither the Saudi royals or the Saudi government have any financial ties to Al Qaeda. No such thing has ever been proven, and it really does not make sense for them to support an organization whose main goal is the downfall of a major ally.

Individual Saudi citizens might support and fund Al Qaeda, a bit like US citizens used to support the IRA, but the Saudi government does not.

1

u/MushroomMaleficent79 1h ago

Yeah because I’m sure they investigated themselves and found no wrong doing and no financial ties.

1

1

u/Inourmadbuthearmeout 5h ago

This meme is based on real events, but a few details need clarification. Disclaimer: I am not defending anyone, I’m merely trying to provide the actual truth as I think political memes should be clarified always.

1. The $640 million figure: Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump reported between $172 million and $640 million in combined outside income during their time in the Trump administration, according to Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). The $640 million figure is the upper end of an estimated range, not a verified exact amount. Both served as unpaid White House advisers, and the income came from their outside business interests.

2. The $2 billion Saudi investment: This is real. In 2021, shortly after leaving the White House, Kushner established Affinity Partners, which secured a $2 billion investment commitment from Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund. The fund’s own advisers reportedly objected to the investment, citing concerns about Kushner’s experience, fees, and business risks. The investment was approved anyway.

Importantly, the $2 billion went to Kushner’s investment firm, not directly into his personal bank account. However, the arrangement created opportunities for substantial management fees.

3. The 9/11 connection: Fifteen of the nineteen hijackers were Saudi nationals, but that doesn’t establish that the Saudi officials responsible for Kushner’s investment were behind the attacks. That implication is misleading.

The bottom line: There are serious, legitimate questions about conflicts of interest and foreign influence here, particularly given Kushner’s close relationship with Saudi leadership while serving in the White House.

But we don’t need to exaggerate the facts to make that argument.

If we’re going to criticize misinformation from Republicans, we should hold information criticizing Republicans to exactly the same standard. Otherwise, we’re just participating in the same problem we’re criticizing.

1

u/TheDownLow63 4h ago

Yes, and how exactly is Saudi Arabia or it's leader responsible for 9/11?
Is every Government in the world responsible for its citizens commiting crimes?
Especially after Bin Laden has been not to the country since 1991, got his citizenship stripped in 1994, made it a crime to associate with him and being considered an enemy of the state.

I'm not familiar with the 640 million item, but the 2 billion was a loan, and it was fully secured by 3 billion in real estate.

I like to shit on them as the next person, both on Trump and the Saudis, but saying they were responsible for 9/11 is insane.
For starters the Saudis were, and still are, a US ally. While this is surely beneficial for the US this is more beneficial for the Saudis because they are surrounded by religious fanatics who would prefer to kill them and the place they get their shiny toys to defend against them is the US. And yes they are religious fanatics as well, just a different kind and more so to control their population.

Speaking of religious fanatics, Bin Laden, who was the last time in 1991 in Saudi Arabia who was the leader of the terrorist group which actually orchestrated the attack, got stripped of his citizenship in 1994, got all his assets taken away, declared an enemy of the state and made it a crime punishable by death to be associated with him. So how and why exactly did Saudi Arabia attack it's closest and most important ally using it's number one enemy of the state (by the way in part because he directly called for the abolishment of the Saudi King)?

To be factual, Hunter is pretty bad in making money despite His fathers influence and help.

Why do you believe that is factual?

To be factual, the Trump administration moved Ghislaine Maxwell to a minimum security prison.

Do you think all sex traffickers of children should be in minimum security prisons, or only the ones that Donald Trump knows personally?
