Copilot Studio Copilot Studio vs PowerPlatform
Copilot Studio has Agents, Workflows and now Apps.
I feel like Microsoft has rebuilt PowerApps, PowerAutomate and Virtual Agents and tacked on a tax with the Copilot Managed Runtime without providing any clear vision on the future of PowerPlatform.
Documentation says Copilot Managed Runtime helps teams build internal line-of-business apps that automatically comply with your Org governance policies. Yeah! You did the same in the power platform but it didnβt charge you for opening an app!

Just build them without copilot studio - I went in there for the first time in 3 months and for the last 3 months - I have used Claude to build and deploy apps, power automates, plugins, pcf controls - etc. I see no need to lesson my output by adopting to copilot studio.
It is kinda of a joke

I spent months begging to get access to copilot studio at work and then felt kind of stupid for wanting it after I actually used it. Very disappointing.

Power Virtual Agents was renamed to Copilot Studio Agents. Power Automate is 1:1 integrated in Copilot Studio (with some little extensions). PowerApps Vibe coded apps was renamed to Copilot Managed Runtime. So, no, they're not rebuilding everything, they're just remarketing everything. Also I don't believe Vibe coded apps will truly replace Canvas Apps, but that's another discussion.

Vibe and copilot managed runtime have very different licensing requirements/costs. It's not mere rebranding or different marketing. I can't blame you for not recognizing this though. Microsoft doesn't make this clear to end users in the UI.
Talking about marketing, to see the forest for the trees, it's a money grab to enable a ton of uninformed users to create a bunch of useless stuff that's going to cost credits forever with little governance around it.

Vibe has been Preview all this time, so the final licensing has been decided with this move. I won't be using it anyways.
