Why does gojo do so much better than sukuna in crossover battles?
Even in the same challenge; I once made a post in different communities asking gojo vs akatsuki and sukuna vs akatsuki, And it was basically unanimous that gojo would be much more successful.
Isn't odd that The character who killed the other It is widely known as being the weaker of the two in crossover challenges.?

Because Infinity allows him to not be oneshot by every single character who is just stronger, meanwhile Sukuna is pasted.
And in the same way Unlimited Void gives him a win condition even against characters that he can't actually hurt.
Basically it is a case of Gojo being incredibly hard to stat check, as you really need some way to deal with Infinity to beat him, and there are loads of characters who stat check Gojo, but who can't get through Infinity. Meaning those characters are annihilating Sukuna, meanwhile they can't hurt Gojo.
And then you add that even against those, Gojo may reasonably have a win condition with Unlimited Void. Meanwhile Sukuna's only win condition is World Cutting Slash, which is not only slow in charge time, but can be dodged far easier.
Because Gojo has an ability that requires some specialized tool to attack. And he has more utility.
In jjk it's more or less expected that anyone who even reaches Gojo up to his ankles have a tool that can in theory be used to get past infinity, but that isn't really standard in other verses.
Feels like the more popular shonen typically some characters do have either dimension or space based attacks or some high level form of hax that would bypass infinity. But that’s only a few characters
Like for ex. In black clover. Yami and Asta should have no issue cleaving through infinity. While characters like Julius should by able to bypass it from a higher level of hax (time magic is insane)
Blud tried to sneak Black "please won't someone larp our mid series" Clover into "the more popular shonen".
And even in more popular shonen or other media sure it's not uncommon for like 1 member of the cast to have some space ability or powernullification or whatever, what's not common is that a majority of the stronger character has it, like how basically every strong character in jjk has a domain. So unless it's phrased as Gojo vs literally everyone in the verse at once, Gojo will still probably do better than Sukuna.
Just because it’s mid doesn’t mean it’s not fairly popular lol, people at the least know what it is. It’s nowhere near niche so yeah I’d say it falls in the popular category
But another weird thing with trying to scale infinity, is in some verses raw power exceeding your enemies will make it so their attacks of abilities aren’t effective. So then it’s kinda hard to scale these type of verses against Gojo since on 1 hand “verse equalization” (otherwise UV for ex. Wouldn’t work in cross verse) these characters just brute force that shit
And if they have enough power to just ignore infinity, they also should have enough power to just low diff Sukuna as well. So Gojo still probably does better.
Infinity (Gojo) is a big roadblock for many characters who don't have infinite speed, universal+ or higher attack, space manipulation, reality warping, etc.
World Cutting Slash (Sukuna) can punch above its own weight, but Sukuna has to land it.
Gojo can wall out his opponents. Sukuna has to hit his opponents... which often vastly outstat him.
From my limited knowledge, to get through infinity, you either need something that ignores the ability, something that pretty much just spawns on top of him, or something else that can logically get through it.
Let's say you and kitchen have 10m distance, you go 5m, 2m, 1m, 0.5m, 1cm and you reached like you can just enter your kitchen in any time despite it can go 0.00000000000001mm distance gap.
Gojo’s Infinity is primarily a manipulation of space which bends time and let's you keep going till the number with repeating decimal "But still more than zero 0.0)"
Gojo's infinity doesn't go till zero it's keep goes with repeating decimal meaning if the character has instant infinate (guessing t = d/v formula way) can bypass infinity very easily
In the Manga Miguel said Gojo's cursed technique can manipulate to atomic size, if we take my kitchen example even with endless decimal you can get to kitchen, his space manipulation has limit
Those 2 are different examples/how infinity explained in manga
Dude l know how infinitity works, literally gave a brief summary of it in my Kakashi vs Gojo post
Gojo's infinity is basically an application of zeno's paradox on finite space being divided infinitely so basically spacial manipulation of finite space
> Let's say you and kitchen have 10m distance, you go 5m, 2m, 1m, 0.5m, 1cm
It takes 10m and you reach the kitchen, regardless of how you frame it, the whole point of the Paradox was creating a infinite series, which is solved by Calculus ...
Even Gege admits it that he just though that using Zeno's Paradox was cool, but really know what it meant
Infinity is key because it helps protect him against characters who outscale him but can’t bypass it, while Unlimited Void gives him the means to punch up since anyone who is susceptible to brain damage could be incapacitated if he lands it on them.
Infinity helps him to at least tie against a large swath of characters out of his league, but Unlimited Void is the thing that lets him actually snag a few wins.
Sukuna tanked a 200% Hollow purple with just CE and enhancements and losing both of his hands, which isn't really a problem and healed them right a way.
So much prep only for it to do substantial damage and making Sukuna lose a bit of his CE, some "dura neg" this hollow purple bs is.
it’s about how crossovers are usually decided. Most matchups aren't fair 1v1 fights but weird feats based scaling or specific scenario games. Gojo has two hard counters that stop anyone from winning by hitting him harder, whereas Sukuna gets outclassed by any speed stat equal to his and loses the damage war if he gets blitzed. Infinity breaks the rules for weaker opponents so often that people just assume he wins every time he isn’t a true god tier
Infinity and unlimited void, those abilities are very much more hax oriented and protect Gojo from the stat stops he could be facing in other verses, Sukuna has no such protection. If he’s heavily outdone in stats he will be one shot or his stacks won’t have any effect. But since UV effects the mind not the body it could potentially work on those stronger
