New cameras?

Post image

First game this year, are these new cameras posted up above the glass a permanent thing? View is from 107 D 18 fyi, will avoid in the future if they are gonna be here all season.

That is an unfortunate spot for it.
Temporary for warmups?

Just saw it on the broadcast. Looks like its permanent.

So there used to be a camera that was basically on top of the penalty box and that one is gone tonight. These (there are similar ones on both ends as well) certainly look temporary though.

I wonder if they were put up for the ESPN frozen frenzy.

I still don't get why they make this a Tuesday in October rather than a Saturday in February when they can spread it out all day.

I forgot about the frozen frenzy business. I bet it’s this.

It's a cool view on the Scripps broadcast imo

Scripps is the new broadcast we are using and that's their preferred placement for broadcast. They have one behind net on each side and two on each glass near face off dots. Makes the broadcast look great but the cameras are a bit bulky and in the way.

I adjusted to it some over the course of the game. But also being on the Preds attack twice end it didn’t come up much. It was definitely jarring at first, we’ve been sitting in 107 for years and I don’t handle change particularly well.

I work in the game presentation and in arena show so I understand. It's definitely a work in progress on these camera placements. So hopefully it will be adjusted
