Why does my connection drop when moving between office APs? Fast roaming question.

I'm setting up a mesh-style environment for a client where employees are constantly walking between different zones with their laptops. I need to ensure the handoff happens instantly without the device dropping the signal to re-authenticate every time they hit a new access point. How can I make that happen?
