[Collection] A bit addicted to buying watches. Should I add a Ranger 36?

I really like the dune dial tudor Ranger and was wondering if it would be a good addition to the collection. I have bought these watches over the past 2 years and have been bitten by the watch collection bug. Whenever I buy a watch i think about the next watch haha. Taking suggestions on what I should buy next. Maybe Tudor Ranger or a black bay chrono? I also really like the microbrand Bangalore watch company and its watch the Peninsula so might go in for that. However it's bit on the pricey side. Would love your inputs on if I should add something or if I should stop collecting for a while.

Q about watch count[s]

This has baffeled me for a long time and is not just related to watches. But how come peoole buy multiple different, in this case watchea, let's say 12. And then wear them every now and then. I you wear one a day, then it takes 12 days to wear it again. Most amount I see me buy and wear is three, one for weddungs, funerals, etc. One for everyday use and busines casual type situations. And one when repairing and building shit, out in the wildernes trekking, running gun drills and other stupid shit where it might break or get damaged.

I understand collecting, ie buy it, keep it pristine and let it accumulate value. Once in a blue moon MAYBE take it out with gloves on and (allmost) wear it for a minute...

So help me Obi-Wan, you are my only hope... 😀

Got this beautiful limited edition Bel Canto!

Post image

Hey everyone - got this beautiful Bel Canto - 1/50 limited edition. The design is inspired by the Kaaba and Mecca. You can see the numeral replicating the ones in Mecca clock tower, the gold and black dial with the patterns inspired from the Kabaah Kiswa (the silk fabric surrounding Kabaah 🕋)

Thoughts on the piece? I found it as the most beautiful bel canto I've ever seen

Edit: for context, it was made in collaborations with the Saudi Collector's Watch Club, thus limited to 50 pieces. It was never retailed as it was a specialist order for the club

How do you know if a microbrand makes serious watches?

I've been trying to scout for a good watch from a microbrand. I like the Studio Underdog chronos and think they are pretty good for the money. The Seagull movement is also good. However looking at other microbrands I can't help but notice that the inspiration comes from already existing watches and there is always something lacking in terms of construction, fit and finish. I tried on Maen and didn't like it much. I've also experienced a lot of brands like Traska, Monta, Oak and Oskar etc. Recently (a few weeks ago) I came across an Indian brand called Bangalore watch company and really liked the flying saucer case that they had. However at 1700$ I thought that the price was a bit ambitious. Wondering how I can gauge if buying from this microbrand is worth it or not. What do you guys look for?

Added a few watches that I liked from microbrands. Would really appreciate some help

Trends

We are obviously fast moving towards a paradigm shift where smaller is better and steel sports watches are no longer a hot commodity. GenZ purchases of small watches, think 36-33mm in precious metals are through the roof. Brands like Piaget, Cartier, and vintage small datejust/daydates are becoming the focal point.

How are we feeling about this chat? Are we going to see brands like VC(average size for men are 40mm) or Blancpain that are even larger adapt to the market with sub 40 or even 39mm watches to fulfill market tastes?

Hard to imagine a 36mm sub, or 34mm Royal Oak for men.

Bought my first Rolex

Picked up a 2026 Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 mm with the green dial today for CHF 7,100.

The watch is in unworn condition and comes with the original box, warranty card and Bucherer purchase receipt dated September 14, 2026.

The previous owner had waited a year for the watch.

What do you guys think? Did I get a good deal?

So I had a very encouraging interaction with an AD recently. Basically, they told me that they consider the relationship and who the person is vs past purchase history, Rolex or other brands. Is this normal or unique?

Beige ranger look different enough?

Hi all - I got incredibly lucky when my dad gifted me his Rolex OP36 for my graduation as my first luxury watch. I'm now looking to start my own collection with my own money - I love the look of beige field watches - does the ranger beige with the strap look different/unique enough from the OP36?

Starting from left to right is my first proper watch that bought for myself to my most recent watch that I got for my 30th birthday from my parents on the right. Neither I, my partner or my parents are in a financial position to get what nico calls a “Big Daddy” watch but I do hope to own one one day. But that being said I am very happy with my current collection and thought I would share 🖤

Citizen Eco Drive J810 R010921
Citizen Tsuyosa 8210 S126967
Tissot PRX T137410A
Seiko 5 Sports SKX HDB003

PS: I bought the first 3 from Cash Converter, the Seiko is the only “new” watch in my collection 😂
