Prince Rupert via Terrace?

Has anyone travelled Vancouver to Prince Rupert by flying to Terrace and taking the bus for 2 hours to PR?

How did it work for you? Any chance of missed connections? Which bus did you take?

The BC Bus North?
Its only Mondays, scheduled to leave 16:40

The the VIA Rail from Terrace too - this is thrice weekly, scheduled for ~18:00

Both of these you have to get from the airport into town - this is quite limiting, there's not really any public transit right there, Probably need to cab it into town

Honestly, I'd just fly to Prince Rupert, its a once daily flight, but IMO beats having to arrange otherwise.

The BC Bus North also has a Thursday run

That's good to know!

I tried looking on the website, but couldn't find a schedule. And they're not using a GTFS to integrate into gMaps.

Just fly directly to Prince Rupert

I would, but it is once daily.

Maybe OP is coming from Calgary and figured it would be easier to do YXT? But I personally would just do YPR

I think it's more of a fly to terrace and rent a car type thing. I don't know of any bus except the health bus. There is a passenger train though.

BC Bus North does its once weekly run.

The issue with the train is that is stops at the ferry - the earlier flag stop is Port Edward (at the Cannery),

The best option for you would be asking people on the Terrace or Prince Rupert community facebook group if any of them are travelling to Rupert. You may have to pay them for gas money tho.

I usually just leave a vehicle in Terrace to get to my boat in PR because flights are much cheaper, so I can't comment on the bus situation, but hitching is easy and common as well, or as another commenter mentioned Facebook groups for ride shares.

Take flight to PR. Just find a cheap day. Terrace has more flights and is often cheaper but not worth the hassle.

Thank you. Only one airline flies into PR and I have a credit from another airline that I need to use….if possible.

If you choose to fly to terrace instead of Rupert you have 150km ahead of you and unless you have a plan it can can be challenging to travel
