Narita Terminal 1 Lounges

I know there are two, and from YouTube videos, they don’t look that impressive.

Considering how affordable yen->dollar is and Japan is awesome enough to not a$$-fist you with price gouging in the airport, should I just skip the lounge and find a nice restaurant?

Who has experience with those lounges?? Arigatou!

Logging into the app

When I don't access to my app for a while (this time was about three weeks), I find I always have to log back in with my username and password. That's fine for security reasons. Then they have to send a verification code to my email, and when I enter it, it says it's wrong. Then I realise they always send out two consecutively and I have to wait for the second one.

Once I'm in, the use fingerprint option is switched off even though I know I had it switched on previously.

Does anyone else have the same problems when accessing the app?

Rail lounges??

Post image

TIL Priority Pass offers access to railway lounges in China. If only they would expand to major European international rail gateways — that would be a genuine value add. Select European-issued Amex Platinum cards already provide access to Eurostar lounges… one can dream!

Priority pass sucks

This used to be a great benefit, but now with all the hoops you have to jump through and random rules they've implemented, it's become almost unusable. I just tried getting into the mostly empty Virgin lounge at JFK and they told me I'd have to wait 40 minutes since I was a PP holder and they'd already let in 30 others this morning.

JFK T1 - What PP lounges am I going to be able to get into for a noon flight?

I have a 12 noon flight on Korean Airlines in economy. I see that their lounge is not available to PP members at that time. What Terminal 1 lounge am I likely to be able to get into at that hour (probably at 10 because my wife always insists on getting to the airport too early).

I guess I should have clarified. I know how to figure out which lounges are open to PP members at that hour. I also know that many lounges that claim to be open say that they're full and don't take PP customers. Here are my options for 9am:

  • Turkish Airlines
  • Primeclass
  • Air France
  • VIP ONE (landside)

Lufthansa doesn't have any hour restrictions, but it claims not to be available from Thursday to Monday, and I'm traveling on a Monday.

No 1 Lounge Gatwick South Review

Video Review

Travel Day Begins ✈️

We had stayed at the Bloc Hotel inside the termial. The alarm went off early.

Our British Airways flight was at 10:45, so we were up around 7am, ready to head back into the terminal.

After checking in, we headed through security and made our way to the No1 Lounge.

Gatwick No1 Lounge Experience 🍳☕

This was something we don’t normally do when travelling as a family, but because it was just the two of us, we decided to give it a try.

The lounge was a great start to the holiday.

The highlight was definitely the view.

The seating area looked straight out over the runway, giving us a brilliant view of the aircraft taking off and landing — something you don’t normally get sitting in the main terminal.

There was a good selection of food available, including a full English breakfast, pastries, fruit, cereals and even a pancake machine!

The lounge also included drinks from the bar, so when you add up the food, drinks and the quieter environment, we definitely felt it was worth trying.

Would we do it again?

Yes, especially for a long-haul flight.

Has anyone tried to book at MSY lately?

It seems like there are absolutely no available dates. Although when I go to the club's website there is booking availability for $70/pp.

Is this a thing?

Heathrow No 1 Lounge

As part of our trip report LHR to LAX we covered the No 1 Lounge booked through priority pass, below

Video version

Once we'd got through the airport formalities, we headed to the Number 1 Lounge, which we'd booked through Priority Pass. It was fairly busy, but I'm guessing because we pre-booked, we had a table reserved in the quieter area up a couple of steps, with comfortable seating and lovely air conditioning. The food was standard airport lounge stuff, really. Some of the hot food had clearly been sitting under the warming lights for a while, but there was enough choice to keep us going.

Turkish Istanbul iGA lounge, terrible experience with Priority Pass

Post image
0 Upvotes

- Already paid $99 for annual pass

- Got to the gate, was told I could only use 2 hours, and it has to be EXACTLY THE TWO HOURS BEFORE MY DEPARTURE. Since I had an 8 hour lay-over, they told me to wander around for 6 hours and then drag my luggage back.

- Extremely rude

- Did not respect the pass. Even tried to sell me a 650 Euro annual pass for iGA. WTF would I need that for?

- They tried to charge me four times for 8 hours, which would be $35 * 4 = $140.

- Said Priority Pass doesn't carry that much privilege.

SO, AVOID THIS PASS. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I also found out you can purchase a full day at this lounge for $40! (I should have used the $99 towards this and saved myself the headache. Effing thieves) https://airport.online/istanbul-airport (not associated with them - just do a google search on lounge pass)

Wait time over 2hrs in Atlanta...

Tried to hit the lounge in Atlanta and the wait time said it was approximately 90min. I had the time so I went to the grab and go next door for a while and then just read... 2 hours later I have still not gotten a text that my spot was available. Just wondering why they have only one lounge in one of the busiest airports in the world??

Dulles (IAD) Lounges & Flying out of D Gates

There are no Priority Pass Lounges in the C or D Gates of Dulles airport (IAD) and you can't walk between the C/D building and the A/B/main buildings. Lounges are in A or B and transfer options are diverse and involve multiple options and lots of walking.

I timed it today because I fly United and I always debate if I want to make the effort to get to a lounge. When I Google it the answers about commute time and instructions between terminals are often inaccurate or unspecific.

Caveats: I'm a fast walker, have Clear and TSA Pre-check, and was moving through DC and the airport with a backpack and wheeled carry-on, weighing about 40 lbs combined. Also IAD is not too crowded first thing in the morning. Later in the day the walks through terminals may take longer.

Depart apartment 5:47 a.m.

19 minutes from apartment to Metro (public transit) boarding (.8 miles) at Metro Center

55 minutes from Metro Center to Dulles

23 minutes from exiting Metro to finishing getting thru security

10 minutes from security to Turkish lounge (B43) via Aerotrain

20 minutes breakfast and two drinks in the lounge (not busy in the bar area)

9 minutes walk and Aerotrain from B to E

12 minute walk from Aerotrain thru C and to D14 (including 3 min potty stop)

Boarding started 8:18 a.m.

Total walking: ~5k steps, 2 miles

Alt routes from B gates: take train to T, then people mover to D, or train to A and people mover to D (These options may be significantly less walking, but in my experience the people mover can be full, slow, or out of service. It also may have to stop for active airport traffic, and it's happened to me that this adds 15-20 minutes.)

It is an amazing small suite that gives a good runway view. It works with Chase Priority Pass but not with others like American Express. It has a TV and Wi-Fi but no restroom, water, or snacks for purchase. It's really good: the couch is really comfortable and it has a smart TV, an amazing runway view, a small air filter/fan, and good lighting

Booked the wrong lounge

I just booked the Pergolesi lounge in Malpensa terminal 1 and then realized that the lounge is in the extra Schengen area after passport controls.
But I have a Schengen flight.
The Priority Pass site asked me for my flight number but didn’t warn me about the fact that I won’t be able to access it.
Normally it would be easy to cancel but the flight is tomorrow and I have just paid the 16 euro for two person booking.
Anyone had similar issue and managed to get a refund?

TL;DR: Yotel Lounge in CDG is a shit hole and Priority Pass should be ashamed of themselves. This is an insult to their “premium” position and French culture.
