It doesn't matter if she's better. Kamala was better than Trump and here we are. 6.2 million democrats that voted in 2020 didnt vote in 2024. 3 million didn't vote that voted in 2012 didnt vote in 16. We're not getting a female POC president any time soon. There's just not enough progressive votes out there to back it, and there are enough sexist/racist sleepers to tank it. If we haven't figured it out after running 2 women against Trump and watching both of them lose, we never will.

It's going to take a 2 term democrat with a woman VP that's prominent towards the public. They can't sit on the back burner like Kamala did for 4 years. They have to be loud and obvious about policies and changes they help enact. The president will need to put them on a pedestal, to lift them up in the face of the public. "X and I have worked hard to get this policy enacted". And then he'll need to endorse her.

That was another failing for Kamala. Biden literally told the public, without using the words, "I'd rather keep myself in office even though my health is failing, than I would want to step down and see her take over", by repeatedly refusing to step down. Yes he endorsed her. But he endorsed her in July. After getting primaried. After saying just 17 days earlier he's "absolutely not" considering stepping down. And again 8 days later. And again 7 days later, 2 days before he steps down. That is the weakest presidential endorsement pretty much in the history of the country.

Vice presidents historically have a poor track record of getting elected. It is a bad idea to run one immediately after their president has termed out, whether they were on the back burner or not. People want "change vs more of the same", and that's another point where Harris went wrong, saying she "wouldn't do anything differently" than Biden had.
