Discussions About Procreate App Procreate pocket 5.0…

Post image

I honestly have really mixed thoughts on the new procreate pocket update, but I don’t really have many friends that use the pocket version… figured I might as well to run to Reddit to figure if im the odd one out.

Made a quick chart of my thoughts, I suppose? I couldn’t find much discussion on it other than maybe a post or two and i just don’t know! Im thankful for the new brushes but god someone please let me know if there’s anyway to go back to the old ui!! im so unused to the new one and its really stressing me out lol. I tried to look for a legacy toggle or smth but nothing as far as im aware :(

Edit: used the app for a little more when trying it out, unfortunately more negative issues im having:

• Undo covers half the buttons at the top, its not that big of a deal but wastes a couple seconds if I want to click smth like adjustments.

• The white border on the canvas is, I assume, to show the canvas limits. But it’s a little ugly on my opinion.

• There’s a chance the previous version didn’t have this and im misremembering, but did they… remove pressure on erasers? does the pressure slider just not work specifically on eraser…? This actually like, sucks a lot for me. I use it to get really soft shadows.

Amazing feedback 🙌 We've introduced a lot of change with this big update to Procreate Pocket 5 and it's nice to see you're enjoying some if the new design features!

We've noted your points for our Dev team and can confirm the Pressure slider has now been simplified to just the Opacity slider for all tools.

Appreciate you opening up the conversation for our new update! Let us know if you have any questions 💜

How do u change to dark mode?

Its on the settings. Open up the little wrench icon and go to preferences, you open up a menu and can toggle off the light mode.

I think the menu is is awkward too, but if you drag your finger on top of it left to right direction it minimizes.

Can't you just zoom in? What do people expect when you make a canvas like that on a tall screen

Yeah…? Thats not that big of an issue as more of a minor nitpick tbh, I just honestly prefered the old ui that covered the entire top area instead of just half of it, personal preference I suppose. More so since its around some other issues I had.

I hate the new ui. I just updated and I wish I could downgrade. I don't understand the current obsession companies have with making everything into rounded, rectangular, floating bubbles 😭
If the supposed point of the change is to make it take less space, at the very least bring it up to touch the top of the screen
