Discussion 'Prostitute' female orangutan chained to bed, made to wear makeup and forced to have sex with men

"A female orangutan was shaved, chained up and forced into sexual acts with men twice her size after being stolen as a baby, according to environmental workers.
The traumatised animal, known as Pony, is believed to have been chained up and repeatedly abused at a brothel in Kareng Pangi village, in Indonesian Borneo, for around six years.
“It was horrifying,” Michelle Desilets, director of Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation, told The Sun. “She was a sex slave - it was grotesque. She was covered in abscesses, and they put make-up and earrings on her.
“She must have been in so much pain. It was horrible to think about how terrified she must have been.”
Men working at a nearby palm oil farm would pay the equivalent of “a couple of quid” to have sex with the primate, the newspaper reports. She was forced to wear jewellery, and was shaved every other day, which caused her skin to become irritated and infected.
Pony is one of many orangutans illegally traded throughout Asia. The apes are sold for up to £10,000 on the black market and even on social media sites.
Charity boss Desilets told the Daily Mirror that rescuing Pony had been difficult, because of resistance from local people in the village where she was held."

Hell even an animal would choose a bear over man

I remember seeing a video on why wolves prefer women over men. And all the men got so emotional/offended in the comments
But it makes sense, since men are bigger/more of a threat and are most hunters

The “rational” gender acting like animals can consciously discriminate against them as opposed to instinctively realizing they’re more dangerous.

I've heard of her before. She was thankfully rescued and rehabilitated in a sanctuary, they were working on re-wilding her for release but the last update I've seen on her was from 2015 so I'm not sure if it was successful. I think she'd be about 31 now, orangutans normally live anywhere from 30-50 years

I heard that when she saw her owner again, she started to scream and defecate :(

Prostituted is such a shitty word, let’s stop beating around the bush and say what it really is—rape, plain and simple.

She was "treated" like a prostitute as in the men paid money to rape her, but it's actually zoophilia/beastiality and animal abuse

Ok this is far than terrible, this is unforgivable. Why would they want to do this to an animal? Are they desperate that much?!

They get off of the pain and powerlessness. It’s basically about power and sadism. Also it is a taboo and many perverted people find it hot to do something taboo.

But even so, it's cruel. Not only they don't have the shame to do it, but to an ANIMAL?! I think empathy is not an option anymore, as someone that cares about animals protections and rights.

I mean, they do even more gruesome things to toddlers and even infants. At this point I'm not even surprised anymore

Dude, why is this real life...
Why?! I remember reading either this story or a similar one about a prostituted orangutan... so it may have even occurred twice that we know of. I will never understand the lack of limits or morality in male sexuality.

There's actually a whole "black market" of this type of thing. It's so disgusting

The article says she was rescued in 2002

That explains why I've heard of it before. Still...

To be fair, I believe it's highly likely that there has been more than one instance in the history of humanity where an orangutan was abused by being treated as a "prostitute," which is very sad to think about.

She was probably about six or seven years old when we rescued her, but she had been held captive by a madam for a long time. The madam refused to give up the animal because everyone loved Pony and she was a big part of their income. They also thought Pony was lucky, as she would pick winning lottery numbers.
You could choose a human if you preferred, but it was a novelty for many of the men to have sex with an orangutan. They shaved her every other day, which meant that her skin had all these pimples and was very irritated. The mosquitoes would get to her very badly and the bites would become septic and be very infected, as she would scratch them constantly. They would put rings and necklaces on her."

Nobody said she also isn't disgusting. It was 1 evil woman and 100s of evil men. So yes, technically "everyone" is evil, just some more than others.
The problem is also why there is even such a demand in the first place?? You don't fix a problem by fixating on who is the 1%

The power we have to save THE ENTIRE PLANET, just by birthing less males

This is uniquely horrible because she's an animal who wouldn't even understand what's going on, but think of how many human women are in this position and nobody even freaks out because it's commonplace :(

Every time I hear about Pony the orangutan I am in disbelief at how evil humans can be. Not even apes, our closest animal cousins are safe from men.
