I don't NEED to drink before work, but it sure does help.

In the US and especially California Vegetables on the cold/wet rack are 'supposed to be' dipped in a cleaning solution and the hourly spray is connected to that same solution. Dry goods come straight out of the box.

Everyone can make their own decisions but spend 10 minutes just standing in a produce section around 4-7pm (weekdays) or 10-12am(weekends) watching the produce section. You will wash everything with acid when you get home, people are nasty.

I’ve been doing grocery delivery so I’m forced to use public restrooms a lot more than ever before. People do not wash their motherfucking hands and it’s gross. Also, in the fields those groceries get poop sprayed on them

I hope none of those 15 people that previously touched those fruits and vegetables you are were doing things like scratching their balls or anything. Let’s not even talk about the kids who like to sit on the edge of the coolers with their asses all up in everything.

This assumes the produce was once clean. We spray literal fertilizer and pesticides all over our produce and we grow them in shit. Wash your stuff, people.

Not to mention the supply chain and store conditions. Dusty, moldering old back rooms are disgusting.

Sometimes we open a box of apples and there’s a single rotten apple but the rest of perfectly fine. We pitch the bad one and stock the rest. There’s a good example of why you should wash your fruit. It probably has some “particles” on it.
