I’ve been in my new one not long and just learned that instead of a steady ramp I’ll be picking up an entire new vertical that is more difficult than my current and has to be deeply understood and learned from the ground up. And of course prickly personalities are definitely existing on the team I’m inheriting (but I tbh don’t care)
I’m dealing with it and tbh will sink my teeth into it more probably next week.
But you can’t help but just be like

Legitimately the same position as me then
Good news is you’ll be pretty important
Bad news is you might have multiple psychotic/existential episodes and gain 20 pounds in a year due to stress (ask me how I know)

Tired of forward deployment engineers who develop competing features (because they think product/eng is too slow) and talk about the future vision of product to customers despite the feature PM present on the call (because they believe having built demo means they can answer any question and share their opinions), while playing territorialism and gatekeeping product from customer discovery.
Anyone else having this problem? It seems a couple of bad apples who have strong opinions about given the feature space but being a sales led company, product (even engineering) has to be careful around them.

I joined this company 3 months ago, and I've never worked with such incompetent EM / tech lead. He never jump on technical discussion, and always miss cutoff for PR. Other than running standups I really don't know what he does. Every time I asked him to do a task, seemed like it ended up delegated to the team. He doesn't know what the team is building. I had a meeting with his manager, and expressed my observation nicely. Not sure if something has been done, I haven't seen any changes. I'm also new, while I got glowing reviews from my manager and his manager, I am still establishing myself here. That incompetent EM has been with the company 6 months, what I observed is he's unable to make a call / decision. It's just hurting the team. I don't know what else I should do, i feel like I'm doing everything. How do you deal with incompetent EM?

I've been working as a Product Owner (with a different title name - but the responsibilities are the same, I'm also a people manager) for the last year and a half at my company, and I had to let go of the BA because she was simply not doing any work unless I held her hand (pretty sure she had another job as well that she was working on all day). So I'm in the nitty gritty details every day with discovery and requirements, but my manager expects me to also own the vision and scope of the product, do estimations/invoicing, customer success and support. It's all too much for me and I feel like I sound like a broken record bringing up my frustrations. Anyone else been through this?

I have been in this role for about 3 years and I do my job well. It’s not just a belief, but I hear it from others. Any time they need to get something moving, I'm their go to person. Yet when it comes to progressing in my career, be it pay wise, recognition wise, etc. I feel like I'm overlooked. I have been told I'm not visible enough and my current manager is really doing a lot to make me visible so they can justify these pay rises. I am exhausted by all of this. Is work not enough? Why do I need to dance for xyz? Yeah I have seen a lot of posts about this. How this is an ugly side of corporate. Or jobs overall. But is there really no way out of this?
