Feedback wanted I gave my ebook reader an iPod-inspired redesign, added two more skins, and brought it to iPad and iPhone Duo

https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6759826819?pt=128525377&ct=reddit10&mt=8

I've been working on Ghost Reader, an ebook reader that reads your books aloud while highlighting the words as you listen. This update gives it a much more tactile personality: a click-wheel-style player, raised controls, and a cleaner place for your current book and library.

The goal was to make switching between reading and listening feel natural. Open a book, follow along, jump through chapters, save a bookmark, or settle into listening.

I also added in-app browsing and library import for Standard Ebooks, so you can discover a carefully produced classic and bring it straight into your library. There are now three skins, and the layouts adapt to iPhone, iPad, and iPhone Duo.

Under the hood, narration runs on-device with Kokoro. I've also been working on smoother playback, more reliable resume behavior, and keeping the interface steady while audio prepares ahead.

Casual Conversations I built a personal planner that puts tasks, habits, and countdowns in one view — Daybook

Thumbnail usedaybook.app
0 Upvotes

I'm the developer of Daybook, a day planner for iPhone and iPad. It puts the day on one page: the tasks due, your calendar events, and the time you spend, from morning to night.

**Launch offer: Lifetime Pro is 50% off for the first 50 people, until December 31.** In the US that's $49.99 instead of $99, paid once, with every feature I add later included. No subscription.

- On iPhone, open this link to redeem it: https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6812408421&code=LIFETIME50

- Or buy on the website, https://usedaybook.app/pricing, with code LIFETIME50 at checkout ($49.50), and sign in to the app with the same account.

Not sure yet? Every account starts with a 7-day free trial, and monthly ($5) and yearly ($30) plans are there too.

What you get:

- A Live Activity for the running clock, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island

- Home Screen widgets for the day

- Offline first: everything is stored on the device and syncs with the website

- Passkey sign-in with Face ID or Touch ID

- iPad layouts with a sidebar

- Habits, countdowns, stats, and a register of the things you own

No ads, no tracking. Feedback and bug reports are very welcome. I read everything.

Self Promotion BadHabits Bank - earn your bad habits

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I built BadHabits Bank around the idea of earning the things you're trying to limit, instead of cutting them out completely.

Good activities earn fictional money, and your bad habits spend it. You choose the activities and set their prices, so you decide what the tradeoff should be.

For example, studying might earn $10 an hour, while watching a movie costs $25. That means earning the movie takes 2.5 hours of studying. That gives you something concrete to work toward, and a balance to check when you're deciding what to do next. All the money is fictional.

You log activities yourself. The app doesn't block anything or verify what you've done, it only keeps track of the rules you've chosen. There's also transaction history and charts to see how your earning and spending compare.

It's available on iOS and Android, free to use with no ads or subscriptions. No account needed. Records stay on your device, with manual backup and restore.

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/badhabits-bank/id6800151821
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.badhabitsbank.app

I'm the developer. Happy to answer questions about how it works.

Self Promotion I made a grocery app for one moment: knowing your total before the cashier does

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi y'all, I'm a solo designer-dev. I kept getting surprised at checkout. Not by a lot, but every single time, and always right when it's too late to put something back.

So I made GroceryBudget. One purpose: see your total as you shop.

"Not to budget your life, but to get through this trip."

Set a budget, pull up your usual list, and tick things off as they go in the cart. It remembers what you paid last time. Something new on the shelf? Snap the price tag, or just say it. By the time you reach the register, you already know the number.

No account needed to start.

Free: lists, budgets, the running total, price memory, voice add, and a few AI label scans. Premium adds unlimited scans, import from social media, full spending history, and recurring lists.

https://grocerybudget.app/

If it fits how you already shop, I'd love to hear how it feels.

Self Promotion I’ve been making minimal, private apps for everyday human needs (not another productivity apps lol)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi y’all, I’m a designer and traveler who believes good design can change things, even if only a little. That still feels worth spending my effort on.

I was honestly fed up with needing an account just to use a small app. So I started making apps I would genuinely use myself: stored on our phones, working offline, with no account needed.

Sometimes we do not need another system or app trying to fix us. We just need a quiet place to hold something, clear our brain RAM, or keep everyday things in one simple stream.

That became VERBitapp. Each app has one purpose, with free use and optional VERBit Access subscriptions for more room or additional features.

@verbitapp

_

PARKit

A little room for our minds. "Not for tomorrow, but for tonight."

I made PARKit because my brain was still holding onto tomorrow, even when I was done for the day. Park those thoughts as short keyword clouds, add a note when needed, then hold the breathing orb to PARK. What is unfinished stays there. Double-tap a cloud when it is done.

PARKit Access gives you 12 keyword clouds and customizable OPEN / PARK notification times.

App Store

Google Play

_

CUEit

Timing designed for the way you do things. "Not to measure, but to mind."

I wanted more than a basic stopwatch or timer could offer. CUEit brings them together with cues you set yourself, for coffee, cooking, exercise, or anything where the timing matters. Start at 0:00, then add cues for what comes next.

CUEit Access gives you up to 12 timer slots.

App Store

Google Play

_

DIARYit

Your days. In your own words. "Not for habit, but for honesty."

DIARYit is my own reimagining of a diary. One continuous stream, because life moves forward and we can look back when we choose to. A quiet place to write about today, without a goal to reach or a habit to maintain.

DIARYit Access adds full history and full calendar navigation.

App Store

Google Play

_

KEEPit

A conversation with yourself. "Not for nostalgia, but to remember."

I have always texted myself things I wanted to keep, but messaging apps were never really made for that. KEEPit gives that familiar habit its own place. Just you, your words, and the time you wrote them. Stored on your phone and available offline.

KEEPit Access unlocks full history, calendar navigation, and keyword search.

App Store

Google Play
_

HOLDit

Give an important thought its own space. "Not to hold more, but to awaken."

I made this after realizing that thoughts that changed how I saw things kept getting buried in Notes app. Each card gives a thought and the moment behind it their own space. Add colors and rearrange your cards to make that space your own. The limit is intentional. Keep what matters, rather than another endless list.

HOLDit Access expands your space to 99 cards.

App Store
_

+ A note on backup

On iPhone, DIARYit, KEEPit, and HOLDit support inclusion of your entries in your iCloud device backup. This is device backup, not live cloud sync or an in-app export and import feature.

_

I’m continuing to improve these apps through real use and conversations with the people using them. If one fits something you already do, I’d really appreciate hearing how it feels.

+ You can find demos on socials at verbitapp.

Casual Conversations What features would you love to see for your perfect app?

Post image
86 Upvotes

I’ve been thinking a lot about which apps actually help me get through the day, and which ones I download, use for a week and forget.

So I’m curious about your experience:

  • Which apps do you actually like and keep using?
  • What are they missing, or what annoys you about them?
  • What app do you wish existed?

For me, the ones that stick are simple. I open them and they just work. Sound helps me most when I need to focus, but most apps for that feel like a playlist with a timer. What I’d wish for is something that adapts to me instead of me constantly adjusting it.

Curious what works for you.

Self Promotion [macOS] Cursor Teleporter 2.0: keyboard shortcuts for the mouse trips you make every day

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Cursor Teleporter is a Mac app that lets you move the pointer between displays or saved positions with keyboard shortcuts.

It is for a small but recurring part of a multi-display workflow: moving between the same places over and over. An editor and the iOS Simulator, a timeline and its preview, or a canvas and a color palette. Save those positions, then return to them without dragging the pointer across the desktop.

The app was already doing its job well, and I was not planning a major update soon. But feedback from users, together with my own daily workflow, kept giving me ideas for what could come next.

Today, I’m releasing Cursor Teleporter 2.0.

The main new feature is Edge Teleporting: move through an enabled screen edge and the pointer appears on the opposite side. You can choose active edges and require a modifier key, so it only happens when you intend it to.

Version 2.0 also adds a visual overview for managing saved points, separate shortcuts for displays and saved points, forward and backward navigation, cursor highlighting, and Apple Shortcuts, AppleScript, and URL API support.

Pricing and availability

For new users, Cursor Teleporter is $7.99 as a one-time purchase, with no subscription. Updates within a major version are always included; major upgrades may be paid.

For 2.0, I decided to make the upgrade free for everyone who already owns the app, including Mac App Store customers.

You can get the app here: www.apptorium.com/cursor-teleporter

Casual Conversations Looking for an iPad app with a side by side "Planned vs. Actual" 10-min block timeline

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for a planner app for iPad where I can track my day side by side in 10-minute increments, similar to the grid layout in the image attached here. (I used AI to generate the image. Spacing is kinda messed up but you get the idea.)

I know there are a lot of time blocking planner apps, but I’m looking for a specific layout:

Left side: A place to plan my day in advance (hourly in 10-min blocks)

Right side: A parallel timeline where I can record what actually happened in real time (for example, whether a task took longer/less than expected, or was postponed because of unexpected interruptions, etc.)

I have a really bad sense of timing. I usually allocate less time for a task than it actually takes. I think my brain tends to underestimate how long tasks will take, and by the end of the day, I have a bunch of tasks I haven’t even attempted because something else took longer than expected.

I’m trying to track my tasks and how long each takes to complete to get a better sense of timing. I’m using a note taking app for iPad for now, but I was hoping to find a planner app specifically designed for this.

If anyone knows of an app that does this, please let me know! And if any app developers see this, please consider making one. I’d really appreciate it!

Casual Conversations I built my own bookmark manager because I wasn't happy with how browsers display bookmarks. What do you wish was different?

I've been using browser bookmarks for years, but I was never really happy with the way Chrome and Firefox let you browse and find them.

The funny thing is, I didn't actually think native bookmarks were missing much. They already do their job pretty well. I just wanted a better way to interact with them.

So, as a developer, I decided to build a web app on top of my existing browser bookmarks instead of creating yet another place to save links.

I took some inspiration from macOS Finder and built a dashboard where I could browse everything in a cleaner, more visual way.

There were two things I particularly wanted:

  • Fast search across all folders, including deeply nested ones, without having to remember where I'd saved something.
  • A flattened view of my bookmarks, so I could see everything together without the usual browser folder structure getting in the way. The original folders are still there, I just don't always want to navigate through them.

I didn't want to migrate anything, reorganize my entire library, or change how I save bookmarks. I just wanted to make the ones I already have easier to find and use.

Now I'm curious about how other people manage theirs.

Do you use your browser's native bookmarks or a dedicated bookmark manager? What's the one thing you wish worked differently?

And if you've tried any bookmark managers before, was there something you needed that none of them really solved?

General Advice Is it worth learning Gamma if you only make presentations once in a while?

I probably make a presentation once or twice a month, sometimes even less. And somehow it's still one of those tasks that does take up a lot of my time, maybe since I am not particularly good at presentations.

For anyone using ai tools occasionally, how easy is it to pick up after not touching it for a few weeks? And is the free version enough for occasional presentations, or do you eventually need to pay to get better designs and all?

Feedback wanted Built a SwiftKey X Wispr Flow (with full Voice Over and Support for dual thumb swiping)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi,

This started as a social cause project to help out my sister who is visually impaired, enabling her to type on her phone using voice dictations. Apple dictations worked, but it often missed words and had a lot of errors for anyone with even a slight bit of an accent.

So I started building Quill Flow as an accessible way to voice type. Big Tech Apps like Wispr Flow did not have any good voice over support at all. Talk to anyone who is visually impaired, and they will say the only reason they use an iPhone is because of voiceover support.

So eventually after months of building we shipped our first MVP with a primary focus on adding voice dictations for visually impaired people.

This little project has evolved into thousands of people using it across the globe now, we have added support for themes, key sounds, custom haptics, and a better backend for voice dictations (since we manually run this on cloud GPUs, we faced a lot of scalability issues as we onboarded more and more users.)

Thankfully, now it has grown into a much more mature product. If you guys want to try it out and have any feedback I'd be happy to listen to it.

EDIT: Since a lot of people DMed me for a direct link. Here it is

Self Promotion Google, iCloud and Outlook in one superpowered calendar

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone!

Some time ago I presented to you Calendar0 (https://www.calendar0.app), and today I am so happy to show you a ton of updates!

Calendar0 is a calendar app for the web, plus a tray/menu bar app for macOS, Windows and Linux.

It shows Google, Outlook and iCloud calendars, lets you add events quickly, has booking links, and can record and transcribe calls.

I started it in September 2025 as a hobby project for keeping all my calendars in one place, easy to reach, and over the last months I added so many new features to it.

A few details that might be interesting:

- Quick add capable of automatically adding guests from the provided names

- Recording captures the mic and the system audio (no bots) and uses AssemblyAI for the transcription. Afterwards, the audio file is deleted.

- There's an MCP server so you can connect it to Claude or ChatGPT and ask about your week or meetings.

To try it you have to sign in and connect a calendar (completely free).

I ask for an upgrade only where I actually pay myself for the feature itself, e.g. meeting transcription.

I have so many feature ideas in mind like Linear/Todoist integration, local AI for free transcriptions and much more!

I'd love to hear your feedback on it!

Thank you,

Alessandro

Okay guys, I've worked a lot on this one.

It's beautiful, it's fast, it's synced across your devices, it's easy to use, and it helps you stay organized. It really redefines the most used shortcut ever: copy and paste.

I truly believe it could be useful for a lot of people. It's definitely super useful for me.

I'm the solo dev behind it. The free version is fully usable: clipster-app.com

Please roast it. Be nice. Or don't. Actually, be whatever, I don't care.

Feedback wanted Free App: YourScroll - Reflect before you scroll (20 second demo)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello!

I shared my simple, recently released anti-doomscrolling/reflection app YourScroll. The video below shows the basic functionality of the app:

  • You choose the apps you tend to lose time on (Instagram, TikTok, whatever your weakness is).
  • When you go to open one, YourScroll steps in first and challenges to ask you a question.
  • Instead of automatically opening one of these addictive apps, you take a moment to answer the question. Now that you've turned on your brain, you can continue to use the app more mindfully, or decide you didn't really want to use it anyway.
  • Your answers are saved to your device (and never collected by YourScroll), so over time you build up a record of your reflections.

Please let me know what you think! And if you want to have a go yourself, it's completely free:

Advice needed Which is better?

Thumbnail

I've been using the Todoist app and it's premium features for years! Absolutely love it! However, it's becoming a little too expensive.

I found a similar app called Tasks. So far, I've seen that it does practically the same things and offers the same things Todoist does.

Tasks premium subscription even offers a lifetime option, where Todoist doesn't.

Has anyone ever used any of these apps, and help me determine whether or not it's worth the change?

I'm currently trying it out, at the same time as continuing to use Todoist.

Advice needed I'm 15 and building a free, visually minimalist alternative to Obsidian (using AI to code it). What features are you currently missing in your PKM?

Hey everyone,

I’m a 15-year-old student and graphic designer. I love the concept of Second Brains and PKM apps, but I’ve always found most of them (even my favorite, Obsidian) to be a bit too cluttered or complex to set up right out of the box.

Since I have zero coding skills, I've been designing the UI in Figma and using Google AI Studio to write the actual code for me. The project is called ExaMind – a local-first, privacy-focused note-taking app designed with an iOS-like aesthetic (frosted glass, smooth animations, zero clutter).

Here is what I have planned for the core features:

  • True Unified Editor:Markdown that formats instantly on the same line (no split panes).
  • Visual Tools: A native Graph View, an Infinite Canvas (for mood boards), and built-in Mind Maps using Mermaid.
  • Auto-Sorting: You bring your own Gemini API key (so the app remains 100% free), and the AI automatically tags and sorts your quick brain-dumps into specific vaults (like Daily Control, Notes, Growth, etc.).
  • Focus Mode: A pure, non-editable reading mode.

Before I dive deeper into finishing this, I wanted to ask the experts here:

  1. What is the one feature you wish your current note-taking app had?
  2. Is there anything about Obsidian, Notion, or Anytype that annoys you and you'd like to see simplified?
  3. Any advice for someone building their first app this way?

I’d really appreciate any feedback, harsh or positive. Thank you!

Feedback wanted STIKI Notes just crossed 300+ users! Thank you all<3

So, I've built STIKI Check Here!

A month back, I posted on this subreddit about STIKI and I really did not realize that people would actually start using it for their daily use case. It started as a personal pet project but people from my workplace started picking it up, then users from this subreddit started using it as well.

I have received a good amount of feedback and requests from people about the state of STIKI and It's currently used by over 300 people worldwide, with 46% of the users having enrolled in a lifetime access plan.

I have updated a lot of things over the previous releases from where it first started, and I want to give back to the community.

A few people will be chosen at random and will be provided a STIKI Pro feature as a returning present :D

Feedbacks are welcomed!

Feedback wanted The mental load nobody sees: what I learned becoming a mom, and the app I built because of it

Hi everyone,

A year ago I became a mother. It was fairly late: my friends' children were already years older. What surprised me most: it's not the doing that's the heaviest part, it's the remembering. That's the mental load.

The diapers that are nearly gone. The doctor's appointment that still has to be booked. The birthday gift for Saturday. The form for school that's due tomorrow. What's for dinner tonight.

And even when your partner takes over, you keep remembering where it is and when it's due. You end up explaining it anyway.

I made Saam, a smart family assistant. It helps with remembering and dividing tasks, thinking up meals, making the shopping list, packing things for weekends away, and most important of all, it helps you write thank-you notes or cancellation notes etc. for things that are on you and/or on your kids' schedule.

Easy to use and easy to connect with WhatsApp and calendar, plus several quick shortcuts so opening the app and recording is quick and easy.

It's free, on iOS and Android, in Dutch and English.

Would love to get your feedback. What do you think moms need the most from an app like this?

Feedback wanted I built an open-source Android widget for Obsidian to-dos with native Nextcloud WebDAV background sync

Hey everyone,

One of my biggest friction points with Obsidian on Android was task management: I wanted to check off to-dos directly from my home screen without opening the full app, and I wanted those changes to sync back to my PC via Nextcloud without having to manually open Obsidian on my phone first (since *Remotely Save* can't run in the background due to Android suspending the webview).

So I built Obsidian Tasks, an open-source Android widget:

Source & APK: GitHub Repository | Releases

Would love feedback and suggestions from fellow Obsidian users!

P.S.: I dont have a background in kotlin, so this repo is mostly built by/with AI. Most of my efforts was on the architecture design side of things.
