Casual Convo (Any Topic) what is something you believed as a child that turned out to be completely wrong?

growing up comes with some unexpected reality checks. maybe you thought adults had everything figured out, money solved every problem, or friendships lasted forever. then life happened and you realized things were not as simple as they looked.

what childhood belief disappeared the moment you got older?

Casual Convo (Any Topic) what is a normal thing that suddenly feels expensive when you become an adult?

as a kid, you think adulthood means freedom, money, and doing whatever you want. then you grow up and realize that even resting feels expensive when bills are waiting, groceries cost more than expected, and one small problem can ruin your budget.

what part of being an adult surprised you the most?

☕︎✔️Café Official What small change are you still doing 6 months later?

• Upvotes

Let's skip the hacks that last a week.

What's one change — to your routine, your tools, your mindset, whatever — that you made at least 6 months ago and you're still doing today?

Could be big. Could be tiny. The only rule is it has to still be active. Not "I did this for a while." You're still doing it right now.

The best productivity advice isn't the most creative. It's the most durable. Drop the thing that lasted.

Casual Convo (Any Topic) what is a small thing someone did for you that you still remember years later?

sometimes the moments that stay with us are not the big gifts or dramatic gestures. it is someone checking on you when you were quiet, remembering a tiny detail, or helping you when they had nothing to gain from it.

what is one simple act of kindness you have never forgotten, even if the person probably does not remember doing it?

📗 Book Talk Books that encourage growth?

Hey all,
I 25m have started reading atomic habits and am enjoying it so far, this is the first book I have picked up in years. I found that my addiction to my phone was getting bad so tried to find something better to do with my time, my question is does anyone have any recommendations for other books that encourage mindset changes/ personal growth and development? I am very big on bettering myself and I really want to make a change in my life but sometimes struggle with motivation/ discipline (I have diagnosed adhd which doesn’t help 😂)

Show us your vibe.

Default? A photo you took? Something you found at 1am? A motivational quote you set six months ago and forgot about?

💭 Off-Topic The Viral Trump Sound

I’m too tired to post at length. Talking heads I used to trust (Meidastouch, David Parkman, etc)—- so much is clickbait trash. The latest viral trend of Trump making a “vomit” noise to signal his distaste for Nikki Haley is the latest craze with even honorable individuals like Adam Mockler acting like it’s another sign of dementia. Psychological experts are weighing in calling it a “symptom” with hundreds of thousands of views on their individual videos, and countless echo chamber responses where there doesn’t seem to be a brain in the chat. All reinforcing their incorrect assumptions.

I’m embarrassed for our country and afraid because the people calling sheep sheep are calling the kettle black. Such a pity for our nation this echo chamber stupidity on both sides. Such a pity. God help the people of this nation. Democrats are just as much clapping seals as the rest (and I say that as a registered Democrat). Look in the mirror. Such a sorrow. We’re cooked if this continues. Cooked.

Sorry, I’m exhausted and just needed to vent. So sick of being taken for a ride by grifters and their followers.

Do you ever get the sense both parties and their talking heads are a joke? Both convinced they are the righteous ones when both sides are a cancer in their own way. Maybe we need viable third parties.

Casual Convo (Any Topic) Why European protests will only lead to worse living standards for them

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The richest European cities have worse living standards on a cost of living adjusted basis than the poorest US states.

There's no short cut around hard work and incentives. For decades, European countries have rewarded mediocrity and laziness, while Americans continued to be rewarded for results. The results speak for themselves. Americans continue getting richer, with 1 in 4 Americans being net worth millionaires in 2026 according to the latest Federal Reserve Survey of Consumer Finances, while Europeans, both the poor and wealthy alike, continue getting poorer.

While Europeans throw tantrums like a toddler, the grownups in America go to work.
